My laptop is not recognizing my password. I have gone to Microsoft website several times and changed but laptop still not recognizing it. Only one user on my laptop...purchased year ago and went from 8 and recently uploaded 10. Month ago forgot password and went to account.live.com /password/ reset and had no problems resetting and logging on.

View 1 RepliesEach time I try to log in to a particular networked computer ( #3) from Computer #4 , a windows security essentials pop up and asks for credentials even though I checked on allowing access without passwords in computer #3 . In any case when I typed in the user name and password for computer ( #3) , I keep getting error indicating wrong user or password. However the reverse from computer #3 to #4 is OK . All my networked computers do not require password and I am not using workgroup or homegroup just simply network shares.
View 2 RepliesI have just used the SHIFT-Restart option to activate the Windows 10 Troubleshooting and tried to open a command prompt. It asked for a password. I entered my password but was told it was incorrect.
I booted normally using the PIN I normally use, and went through Settings | Accounts | Sign-in options | Change to change my password. In the 'Old password' box I used the same password that had just failed to get me into the boot command prompt and it allowed me to change the password. It said I had successfully changed my password.
If I use SHIFT-Restart again, I still cannot get into the command prompt using the new password.
Am I dealing with two separate passwords here? If so, how do I change the one associated with the boot command prompt?
Note that when trying to boot to the command prompt, the displayed use name appears to be correct - i.e. it is the same one listed when I use my PIN to boot normally.
since I upgraded my daughter has been unable to login to Movie Star Planet. when she logs in it just hangs and sits there and never loads.

However, when trying to change language in lockscreen to login, i am not able to switch to hebrew.
Tried on screen keyboard via easy access but could not switch to hebrew as well.Therefore, i am not able to login now.
I did a clean install on the Nvidia Drivers (Optimus Technology is On) and restarted the Laptop, Then I installed the drivers and restarted again. After the second restart, the Laptop stopped getting to the login screen, it just keeps showing the loading circle from the mouse. And after lots of time it will stop spinning the circle and will just have the mouse cursor on screen. It stays like that forever.

I have a Microsoft account set up with a pin. Every time I boot my computer up, I am greeted with the login screen and my photo, with the message below it, "We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again later." And it's asking for my password, not my pin. For some reason, I see my username twice on the lower left corner. One is the password log-in, the other is the pin. I can successfully log in with either. I just want to know, what is with the error message? I've got a connection, so I can't figure out why.

View 6 RepliesI tried that Windows 10 registry fix, and my laptop no longer recognizes my password. It keeps saying my password is incorrect. I got the update error on both of my laptops, but I tried the registry fix on an older laptop before I tried to fix it on my main laptop. My laptop starts fine and I get to the log in screen okay, but my password is no longer being recognized as correct. Did I destroy my laptop? I followed the directions exactly.
View 6 RepliesMy laptop has been running windows 7 very successfully and after being prompted numerous times to install Windows 10, I went ahead last night. Had no problems with the installation, however, on attempting to close down, the laptop would only turn-off after closing the lid which is not a problem, but after about an hour or so, it turned on automatically again without me touching it. It looks as though it only goes into stand-by. I have not found a solution to the problem - the result is flat battery when I tried to use it today. What is the solution?
View 3 RepliesI have a HP Pavilion 15 laptop that I bought in January this year. I had no problems with this laptop at all until I updated to Windows 10 and still don't for the most part.
When I attempt to shut down, hibernate or sleep my machine it goes to a black screen with the power still on, meaning I hold the power button down myself to switch it off (which is not good for it) or wait until it runs out of battery (also not ideal).
Ok so I'm not sure when it happened but I was still on windows 8.1 at the time. I'm now on Windows 10 and I can still not zoom with the touchpad on my Laptop
Now its not the end of the world as if I use a mouse I am still able to zoom. but this has been bugging me and I have looked online and cant find anything.
I have opened mouse properties and then gone onto device setting and clicked setting and there is no option for zooming where is should be.
I have Synaptics TouchPad V8.1 on PS/2Port.
I think this is the latest version. I cant seem to find anything else.
I have an Acer Aspire V5-573G, recently upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago. Was using my laptop this morning just fine but tonight when I turned it on, I get to the password log in and I can't type in my password.
I can still move the cursor around the screen and go back to the screen displaying the time/date before the password log in screen. I just can't type in my password! Nothing happens.
Also the little icons in the bottom right corner are dull, the clock symbol and the power symbol, although the wifi symbol is highlighted as it's connected. I've unplugged all external hard drives and even turned off my wifi.
I would like to revert from windows 10 to windows 8.1, as I install a preview version of windows 10 which has a so many bugs and due to that my phone is getting hang and unable to use lot of features

View 4 RepliesI reinstalled windows the day before yesterday and since then every time I turn my laptop on after entering my password the screen turns off for like 2 seconds then turns back on. This have never happened to me before. I tried putting my old windows back via Macrium Reflect and I even tried reinstalling it again but neither of those things worked. If I do, does this mean that when my PC starts from a boot, that instead of the pin that I use to login to my account on the PC, I will be asked to login with both my Microsoft account username and password? View 3 RepliesDue to corrupt windows files my pc is unable to start. i am able to go into the bios, but after that it will freeze on the windows logo during start up. i have made a usb windows 10 installer and tried to start the pc up using that as my hard drive (went into bios and changed it to use that as my hard drive) but it still freezes on the same screen. I even unplugged my hdd and booted up but the same thing happens so I don't believe the problem is with my hd.

The Windows Vista laptop can see the files within the Windows 10 laptop. The Windows 10 laptop can see the Windows Vista computer but as soon as it tries to see inside it gives an error about "spelling of the name, etc." If using the diagnosis tool it says "One or more network protocols are missing from this computer". "Resolving problems as administrator" does not solve anything.

My wife has a laptop running Windows 7, connects to the internet using the same WiFi modem and prints using the printer on my laptop.
I downloaded Windows 10 on to my Windows 7 laptop and all of a sudden my wife can't print anymore. Microsoft, you've done it again. How I hate this!
I fooled around with HomeGroup settings on the Windows 10 laptop and the system attributes on my wife's laptop and now I can see her computer on my Windows 10 system. But I cannot see the printer on my system from her laptop.
I tried to click on my compueter from her laptop and I get a request for username and password. I don't know what username and password to use. I gather from reading the forum that I should put the name of my laptop in the username but I don't know where to look for the password.
wndows10 build 10122 was fine, works great put the pin to login and go... now with the windows10 build 10130. the pin login is gone.
