View 2 RepliesIn my device manager my canon printer is listed under Disk drives, USB connection?? Its also listed correctly under printers too. Should I remove it from being listed under disk drives?? or leave it alone?

View 1 RepliesWhen the print spooler is turned on I get a message that says the printer queue is full. (The printer queue is empty.)
If I try the printer without the printer spool on i.e. print directly to the printer, I get a message that says "Unable to create a print job."
This printer was working with Win 10 until recently. The scan function works as it should. So the computer does see and interacts with the printer through the usb port.
Something must have changed in the latest Windows 10 release to gum up the works.
I've been unable to open the start menu or the cortana/search menu for about 3 days now. Even enabling the regular search bar doesn't work, as I Can't click into it.
View 1 RepliesThe thing is that after updating on windows 10 it is unable to open my desktop by minimizing the Start menu, only via windows explorer. Start menu opens always in full-screen mode so I can't resize it (yes, full-screen mode is unchecked in the relevant menu).
View 2 RepliesWhen I try and open my store in windows 10 it will just pop up really quick then go away. And when I try and open any of my apps it tells me that they can't be opened and to go to the App Store to fix but I can't open the app store. I have tried every fix out there that I could find and no luck.
View 1 RepliesI have a new Windows 10 system (A) which has a printer attached. I'm trying to share the printer with another computer (B) also running windows 10, both computers can see each other on the network but when B tries to look at A it gets a message that it can't access A.The printer is shared and as a far as I can see file and printer sharing is enabled but the add printer routine can't find it.
I can see A and it's shares on a W7 computer (C) on the same network without problem and it has detected and can use the printer. All computers are in the same Workgroup and both W10 machines (A+B) are in the same Homegroup.B was able to use the printer when it was attached to D, unfortunately D is now dead and replaced by A.

View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 today, however the start menu will not open, and only certain items work when I right click on the windows icon. Also, the quick launch icons on the task bar do not work, and won't even let me right click them.
View 1 RepliesI connected the printer to my computer and I'm able to print pages from a browser, my problem is I'm unable to access the printer directly to scan files. I've tried deleting and re installing that didn't work. The printer is an HP Deskjet 3050 ...
View 3 RepliesI am unable to print wirelessly with my Epson 545 Series printer. Works fine with old laptop Windows 7 but Win. 10 is having a problem.
View 1 RepliesBack in 7, my start menu had stuff pinned to it. I could click, say, Visual Studio and a submenu would slide out with recently opened projects on it so I could not only open it, but open a specific project.
I pinned VS to my Start Menu, but it doesn't have that functionality. I thought OK, well, maybe if it's on the left side of the start menu where the recently used stuff was. I can't figure out though how to get a shortcut over there (I believe that area is called "quick links"). I don't even have "recently used" anymore. I saw one can add folders from a list, but I don't need that. Right clicking the pinned VS in the "tiles" area doesn't give me that program specific context so that's not really useful.
Since changing to W10 I am unable to install the above on my lap top, both worked fine on my old vista machine, little notice comes saying something like ..incompatable with the O.S, is there away to get around this ?
The printer, an Epson DX4400 is a few years old I know, but it is still very good and I dont really want to get rid of it.
After upgrade from 7 to 10 my 2 brother printers were visible and apparently ready. The HL2270DW would not print - just spooled forever but the MFCJ825DW worked. I tried using the Brother uninstall tool to remove the laser driver then installed the W8.1 package for it. Would not install. So I wondered if the other printer was to blame and removed it as well and re-installed. I have done this many times now getting progressively more thorough including removing all mentions of Brother drivers using Devices and Printers interface, uninstalling in Device Manager installing in a different order and as administrator, removing folders left over etc. The result is always the same. I can get one of them installed but attempting to print gives the error Driver not installed - do you want to install? Click through, install via windows process but it fails anyway.
View 2 RepliesAny command that can be pasted into a shortcut; That opens the power menu or user menu? I.e where you sign out or lock your computer.
The shortcut is meant to be on the desktop.
Some screenshots showing what menus I'm referring to.
The issue is I have a network printer selected as the default in Windows 10. I have the option "Let Windows manage my default printer" turned off. At one point randomly, the default printer goes back to the Adobe PDF as the default.
Steps taken:
* I have checked the registry settings to ensure that the options "let Windows manage my default printer" is switched off. I can confirm this.
* Switched the default printer back to the network printer and performed a reboot. The network printer remains as the default. At some point of the day it goes back to Adobe PDF.

View 1 RepliesI have recently bought a laptop from PC Specialist. The initial setup went ahead without too much drama, however after having used the laptop for a couple of times since then, I logged in today and find I can't open and use the Mail app. The first thing I noticed was the Mail symbol had disappeared from the Taskbar and I can't find it on the Start menu or under All Programs either. The actual app on the right of the Start menu is showing but does nothing at all when I click on it although it does show headers from the emails in the Inbox. I have also tried to find the program in the Uninstall list but it's not there either.
