I made the upgrade to windows 10 and am getting annoyed because I am unable to use my chrome browser as default. I have it set as default, but it still won't launch or open at all. I can search using google, but can't get chrome to launch? Ready to go back to windows 8 already.

I'm having a persistent problem with Google Chrome. Although Windows 10 says Chrome is the default browser, Google Chrome itself does not "believe" it, and I keep getting the "Google Chrome is not your default browser" notification when I bring up the browser.
In settings it says that Google Chrome is NOT the default browser and no matter how many times I click on the button to tell Google Chrome to make it the default browser, it just pops up the Windows 10 window that shows me that according to Windows 10, it IS the default browser. I have run a Repair Install Windows 10 With an In-place Upgrade hoping it would solve the problem, but it did not...

I reinstalled my Office 2007 programs back on my computer after updating to Windows 10. The only problem I am having is that Outlook won't open the default browser (IE11) when a link is clicked. Instead, it pops up a box that asks me what I want to use to open and , even if I select IE as the app and check the box that says always use this app, it doesn't "remember". I've set IE as the default browser, both in Outlook and as the default browser in Control Panel. Anything else I can do to make it open link with IE instead of Edge?

Some programs are automatically opening in Internet Explorer such as when I open Google+ photos or when software updates and shows what has changed on its website. how to change this so it all opens up in Edge?

However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Tried all the icons & right click that I can find for Edge but not getting the option anywhere.Tried also with the Edge app from /Windows/Systemapps and it didnt give the option either. View 9 RepliesAfter I upgraded to latest windows 10 build (1151) ,I seem to have a problem of Chrome opening the first several requested web pages after computer comes out of "sleep" mode. I get the page that says cannot connect . After I hit retry it finds it . Sometimes the web pages don't load properly ie no pictures , just a listing or the picture color is not right. After a reload it works fine. After the first few pages of problems everything works fine again. It's like Windows or Chrome is having some delays accessing the requested pages when starting from a sleep mode.

Currently when we type anything into the taskbar search, it launches Edge + Bing to give the results.
I would like it to use google and my chrome browser cos I find it gives better results.
I'm going to apply to the Guinness Book of Records as I must be the only person on Planet Earth who can't get the GOOGLE CHROME browser to work on the latest version of Windows (W10 PRO X64 with all updates etc).It just sticks forever in a "Wait".Have uninstalled and re-installed several times. Amazing as I've got the browser to work on every other device I've ever tried it on.
I wanted it because of the Googlecast where I could cast the Audio output from the PC to the chromecast device. My remote TV speakers are much better than the local laptop ones -- I can stream standard Audio but I wanted to stream Internet radio which is another issue entirely. The Chrome browser does work for that (I've tested it on another PC).(The standard tunein audio feed directly on the chromecast doesn't stream HD Audio streams or FLAC - my server will decode the audio streams which can then be picked up with the chromecast dongle -- but all bets are off if I can't get Chrome Browser to work !!).
I have made repeated attempts to download and install Google Chrome onto windows 10. I have tried multiple actions according to web sites. It downloads but when I try to access, I get an error message that says the web page cannot be found. I have been told that Firefox will not allow install due to incompatibility issue. I tried contacting Microsoft but cannot get through due to HIGH level of phone traffic. I am not able to get to answer desk for unknown reason. Is there anyway I can get past this incompatibility issue that according to Microsoft; "They are working on it". I want to make Google Chrome Default Browser.
View 19 RepliesCan't lauch Outlook 2010 from Internet explorer! on Windows 10 Home. Gives me this error message.
I also can't install my printer. Keep getting error message saying printer driver is in use. It asks me to stop the driver so I do and then I get error message saying I need to start it! I haven't a clue how to fix it. The printer does work wirelessly but I can't use any features like Duplex printing Etc.
Today I tried to open Google chrome and it did nothing. Its not blocked by avg or anything so I went to the installation folder and looked at the debug log and it can't find "Chrome.dll" here's a pastebin URL...get chrome to work.
View 1 RepliesI've been having trouble the last few weeks with Google Chrome. I click to open Chrome and it takes a solid 10-15 minutes before it opens. It works perfectly fine when up and running and there's no issues with speed once it's opened.
View 3 RepliesI am having a problem whereby my default browser keeps changing from IE11 back to either Edge or blank. Why this might be happening or what program is causing it to change? I thought it maybe the Windows Auto Update that keep changing but am now not so sure of that since the last recorded update is back on 14th January and my default Browser got changed again last evening.
The only other programs that run regularly are Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. However, I have been through the settings of both of those programs and cannot detect anything that would indicate that they change the default Browser.
Also, in IE11 under the advanced tab I have ticked the option the "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser" and yet (a) I do not get a notification and (b) the default browser keeps getting changed.
Is there a way to automate changing the default browser from Edge to IE. We are still dependent on IE and can not deploy W10 with Edge as the default.

View 2 RepliesI must have done something wrong. I unpinned all of the apps from start in order to re-organize. The apps are still listed under chrome and I put a couple of them back and of course they contain the symbol of the website. After I put the first one back, I clicked on it and instead of going to the website, it went to the chrome browser.
