I just wonder why some of my apps are not listed there?! I also tried "apps and features" from settings and still some of my installed software don't show up there either!
Even tried with 3rd party uninstaller program (Revo) and still no trace of these installed software!
EX: Cubase, Photpshop, Premiere, etc
I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 10, but it told me I need to uninstall Buffalo TurboPC EX Series. I looked in the uninstall a program screen, and couldn't find it. Is there a way to uninstall it?

View 2 RepliesI can neither uninstall nor disable Cortana. If I end task in task manager it turns itself right back on.
It is not listed in the programs folder. I have even tried disabling services associated with Cortana and they come right back on.
I really do not want this thing. Sometimes I find it running using 50% cpu. What is it doing. I do not have the resources to waste on a program I do not want or need.
I noticed the installation dates of about 12 programs and drivers have been changed to 24/12/15 in Control Panel / Programs & Features (see screen shot). I haven't made any changes and Reliability Monitor does not show any automatic updates. The programs still work.
View 3 RepliesI have installed Aome hdd manager on my W10 PC and laptop. On the PCs it appears in the start menu and also as an icon in the start menu.
But on the laptop it is not showing, have uninstalled and reinstalled and created a shortcut from the installed .exe file then chose pin to start menu, but still nothing ...
is it possible to uninstall the first installed OS (Windows 8.1) in the SSD that has also win 10 installed into the second partition without losing data in win 10? If not from windows tools maybe using some software? Currently this is how my SSD is:

Whenever I plug a photo card in to my PC, the new Photo Viewer program is launched (which doesn't find the card but that doesn't matter as I don't want to use that program anyway). How can I change the default import program to one of my choice (Lightroom).
I can of course shut it down, load Lightroom and then select the card but I always have to go through the process of first shutting down the program that loads automatically. If anything is going to load automatically I would rather pick my own!
I've been trying to uninstall google chrome for a while but each time I try to do, I get a message that says " Please close all google chrome windows (including those in Windows 8 mode) and try again"...
I don't even know what that means, what does it mean by windows 8 mode and how can I uninstall the program?
How can I uninstall Windows 10? I am having a ton of problems and no longer want to deal with them. I cannot go to the Control Panel and say Uninstall the program since the Control Panel Uninstall Programs shows only very small % of the programs I have on the computer. Just one of the many problems. I do have a Windows 8.1 flash drive from Dell so I can reinstall Windows 8.1.

When I search for an installed program most of the times it wont find it but instead it will show me to look it on the web. I believe that it has a connection with the fact that the menu "All apps" doesn't show all apps but only some of them.

View 6 RepliesI have had Windows 10 installed for about 4 months now and things have been going decent. A couple of days ago my system received a Windows 10 update that took about 2 hours and looked like it was installing Windows all over again (but it wasn't) and once this happened I couldn't find the Microsoft Edge application and the start button would not work at all. After doing a system restore to a date prior to the update things are back to "normal" except for this one problem.Currently my start menu does not show any Recently Used or Favorite Apps in it as shown below.If I select the All apps button it also shows nothing:
I made sure that all of the settings in order to see recently used apps and all my apps are correct as below are my settings:I have tried a couple of solutions that handled Cortana not searching for programs or "some" apps were missing from all apps but I have yet to find a solution to when absolutely no apps are showing in the start menu. I know the applications still exist on my machine as I use Firefox and Microsoft Word and Outlook plus many more apps but they aren't showing up at all. I am also under a local account instead of my Microsoft account and both have this problem.
Windows 10 . How to change Program Files Location. i know in windows 7 and windows 8 all i had to do is go to ''HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion'' and change ProgramFilesDir to the hard driver letter to the on that i prefer. same goes to the ProgramFilesDir (x86)
Now here is my real question... on windows 10 we still can do same as i mention above for both x86 and x64. but the problem is if i change the ProgramFilesDir (x86) on windows 10 most of the things on windows 10 stop working. if i change my ProgramFilesDir (x86) :C >>ProgramFilesDir (x86) : D i can't even open the run. and most of the other stuff doesn't response correctly either
I've (install windows 10/clean install ) multiple times. after installing is done, every time i go change the ProgramFilesDir (x86). PC stops responding correctly.
Photo editing program. My criteria is a relatively easy to use program to add text, change colors or to make banners and posters for our club. Not interested in fancy makeovers. PSP and their help desk and manual is not that easy to use, and Gimp (have not used it much) seems like it would be too complex for my needs. Leaning towards Photoshop Elements because an acquaintance uses the full Photoshop (am told PS and the more limited PE use the same functions for what they can do) and may give me a few tips now and then. A friend also uses Elements. Some reviews recommended Lightroom over Elements.
View 1 RepliesMany of the Universal Apps cannot be uninstalled because the button is inactive (grayed out). This might be 'by design' for the Technical Preview since Microsoft wants users to test the Apps.
The preferred method is to use the uninstall button when it is active. The list below provides a way to uninstall an App when the button is NOT active.
Launch an elevated PowerShell (Right click - Run as Administrator ...)
Copy the command for the App you want to remove from the list below and paste it into the PowerShell window

To remove the Calculator App, copy the entire line under the App name

ok, got a buddy in the uk who upgraded to 10, now he wants to remove microsoft office 03 as its barely compatible with 10 and he wants to grab a more recent version of office. small problem. he cant figure out how to uninstall it. the usual suspects for enabling an uninstall dont appear to show the program. I've directed him to tutorial Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and suggested option 4. he's currently told me both hdd's and the ssd all have a folder called microsoft office. he's unsure whats what.
edit: for clarification, the SSD is the drive that has the operating system installed to it. one hdd holds installed games, the other gets everything else.
I installed a software two days ago. Now I wish to uninstall it completely and want my PC to be in the state as it was before installing it. A simple uninstall may leave some of the backdoor components installed by this software. Unfortunately, Windows 10 has System Restore off by default which I forgot, so can't use the System Restore.

I'm talking about things like Xbox, Weather, Phone Companion, News, Movies & TV, Money, and all their friends. The start menu only offers an option to unpin them, while the Apps & features tab in the Settings has the "uninstall" option grayed out.
Now, I refuse to believe that things like Xbox or Movies & TV are crucially important for the OS to run. Why then it is so hard to remove them?
