View 1 RepliesThe windows 10 Mail tile on Start Up when first upgraded open fine and it found my account and synced . A few days later , clicking on it, it moves but doesn't open? How do I open it? Or reset it?
View 1 RepliesWhen Windows 10 starts up I am requested to input a password which I know and I do. I wish to get rid of this entire sign in screen and process, so I go to settings, accounts. sign-in options , password and click on change (hoping to reset it to nothing or blank) where I am requested to put in my password. I input the same one I used at Windows 10 start up and I get the error message "The password is incorrect. How can this be and how to I find out what to input here so that I can get rid of the initial sign in screen? I somehow messed this up but cannot fix it.
View 13 RepliesMy computer worked great for the first 2 or 3 weeks after I installed Windows 10. Then a few days ago it started freezing after about 1 minute once I log in. The computer becomes completely unresponsive, and the only way to shut it off is by holding down the power button. A window pops up about OneDrive not being able to synchronize, then it freezes a few seconds after that. My laptop is an Acer Aspire | M. Intel core i5.
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded to Windows 10 and the entire screen appears to be stretched horizontally, i.e. both texte and pictures are stretched in the horizontal direction. I tried every screen resolution and the same problem exists for each. I have a 64 bit machine.
View 2 RepliesI'm about to buy a new Win 10 gaming rig and wanted to transfer my entire Steam programs + files (most of the games I currently play are *unfortunately* on STEAM) from my old Win 7 rig using an external HDD.
View 1 RepliesI have a desktop computer, it was working fine almost a year and now from a few days I am having a serious issue and that is when using my computer (generally or during gaming) it displays an error i.e PAGE_FAULT_FOUND_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA. The screen turns pink and the edges are green (that's probably because of the resolution as I use 3840x2160 so the error kinds of destorts) but that's not the real issue, the main problem is the error itself.
My Computer specifications :
Intel i7 4790
Asus Maximus VII Formula ROG
Kingston 8GBx2 DD3 Ram (Simple ones, not the gaming ones)
1TBx2 Seagate HDD
Asus GeForce Titan X
Corsair CX850M.
Recently I had to reinstall Windows 10 on my laptop. Earlier I had downloaded and installed many apps from Windows Store. I have a copy of C:Users{user}AppDataLocalPackages with me.
Is it possible to get back the apps by copying the entire folder to my machine? Is there any option to get back the apps? Or should I download and install them once again?
Is it possible to move the entire "Users" directory from C drive to D drive and have it be recognized without doing anything special?
I do a system image of my C drive regularly but my D drive is continuously backed up to a local NAS and I would like my user information backed up the same way.
I have recently installed Windows 10 on my desktop. I now find that most of my files are "read only" I have tried to deactivate this in properties for the various folders but it does not work. Other than trying to copy every file that is currently in use?
View 1 RepliesJust upgraded to Windows 10.I load an Excel file named say "Statistics" from my C:UsersGoogleDrivePersonal folder, I edit the file. I want to save the file with the edits (same name, overwriting existing file). With Windows 7 I just hit the save button within Excel. Now with Windows 10 I can't save to the original location.A message appears " Your changes could not be saved to C:UsersGoogleDrivePersonal folderStatistics because of a sharing violation. Try saving to a different file."
View 4 RepliesI'm having an issue, ever since I installed Windows 10(upgraded, then did a clean install), I've been having issues with Excel. I have Office 2013 and everytime I open an excel document, then close it when I'm done, it freezes. Only happens on excel though, Outlook and Word work fine(only other 2 programs I use). I've done the quick repair and the Online slower repair, along with uninstalling and reinstalling Office. None of these have worked. Is this some kind of bug with Windows 10 or is it just me?
View 1 RepliesOk I am a bit stuck here as I need to save a very large csv file to a txt file that has a certain format for it to be used in another application as an import file, I will attach the sample csv files here
My sheet will look like this
And the saved txt file needs to look like this in this format with the first line reflecting the same headings as below.
I upgraded to windows 10 last night and today I have tried to open excel but it is not working, it simply flashes on the screen then disappears, there are no error messages and it happens if I try to open a file or just the program on its own. This is the main program I use.
View 3 RepliesJust purchased the following computer [URL] .... and have been experiencing quite a few errors already. In addition to many programs' icons being small and almost unreadable (seems to be due to the Ultra HD resolution), I've noticed that every time I open an Excel file, it not only opens that file, but it also opens a blank workbook as well. This has never happened to me on any previous computer or previous version of Excel and googling the issue has been futile thus far.
To be clear, I'm totally fine with Excel opening a blank workbook if I just click on the Excel shortcut on my taskbar, but I do NOT want Excel to open up a blank workbook when let's say I'm opening up a spreadsheet for a financial model.
How to setup a spreadsheet in Excel. This is my first attempt at making a spreadsheet. In this example how do I setup this spreadsheet so that I can keep a running total of columns C,D and E in column F if I keep adding new lines.
View 4 RepliesIn Windows 7 and 8, when I saved an Excel input.csv file to a master.csv file, it would just save.
Now in Windows 10, the Excel file opens up and has to be saved manually (file save as...).
Is there a way to get it to just save as it did in Windows 7 and 8, as opposed to having the file open up like that?
I did the install yesterday - no problem. When I tried to open Word and Excel today, they were empty. All of my files were gone! Can I get them back?
View 1 RepliesI am unable to type into Excel or any Windows Explorer field (eg, search bar) sometimes. I haven't been able to reproduce this error consistently, but the past few times that it did occur was when I opened an encrypted spreadsheet. The odd thing is that the Windows key still works (will open start menu) and I can type into Chrome, but nothing works in Excel or Windows Explorer. The only thing I can do is restart as unplugging the keyboard does not work.
More background: I had a previous Windows 10 installation and I don't think this error has ever occurred prior to the recent clean install of Windows 10 that I did.
Windows 10 Pro, 64bit.
I have both Excel 2000 and Excel 2013 on my Windows 10 machine for reasons that don't need enumeration here. I am working with a program now that will export/import to Excel, but it looks like it might work only with Excel 2013.
However, when I do the export from the program it always exports to 2000. There is not an options or preferences within the program to choose which version of Excel to direct the export.
Is there some way in Windows 10 short of uninstalling Excel 2000 to make 2013 the default choice?
after upgrading to new version of office (from 2013 to 2016) i have no new excel worksheet in new(folder) of context menu.I followed Shaun s tutorial for removing and reinstating New context menu New context menu - Add or Remove in Windows 10..I have also noticed that some programs report that i have more items in the new context menu than i really have! Is this normal?
View 5 RepliesSince I upgraded to Win 10 I get a UAC query every time I open Excel. How can I make it stop that behavior?
View 1 RepliesI have installed windows 10 pro a couple of days ago and I now experience a strange behavior from excel (office 2013). I suspect this worked when booting new OS for the first time.
When I open any excel file from any location on any hard drive (ssd or hdd) it takes around 10 or more seconds for the file to open. When first opening excel itself and opening any file from inside of excel, everything is instant. This issue is not uncommon, however none of the solutions I found online worked for me.
I also tried to run windows without any non-microsoft services, disabled all start up programs, issue remained. Reinstalled office too. All the other office programs work correctly.
Since I upgraded I cannot open my excel. It was working fine in Win 7. It tells me that I need to download Msvcr90.dll. I did and it seemed to work for Word, but it does not want to open Excel.
View 2 RepliesI have a problem where all my Office 2013 documents (word and Excel) disappeared after migrating to Windows 10. Microsoft support just say that they have gone without a trace. Not much support there. Fortunately I have a 99% backup but I now do not trust Windows 10 not to lose more. I think there is a bug in the migration but cannot get the message to Microsoft
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I can no longer print word or excel files since the upgrade yet the printer works fine, other files such as from Acrobat Reader print fine. When I print something flickers on the screen but too fast to read, and the job does not show up in my print q. The troubleshooter shows everything is working fine. I have tried printing new files and old archived files and nothing prints in Excel, yet the program otherwise works fine. What can I try to resolve this?
