Updated And Font 125% Win Apps Text Blurry
Jul 31, 2015
I changed the default fonts and icons size to 125% which run smooth on win 7 but on 10 there is a huge difference.
I have tried a solutions posted here and here but the fonts looks just horrible.
Icons and files names look ok , as well as some menus but rest of the system fonts as you are just bad.
I am on 27" Monitor Gforce Gtx 970.
Here is video in case the images dont show the difference, pay attention to network adapter icons and the properties window.

I upgraded to the Windows 10 becouse I was looking forward to per monitor DPI feature. This feature works well - except for the non-high DPI aware apps. These apps are rendered using DPI virtualization and appear blurry on high DPI displays. I've read some MS articles about it - the application is rendered using standard 96 DPI and then scaled up. Which seems wrong to me. The base DPI should be configurable!
I have a high-DPI display in my laptop and sometimes use classic external display. Why should I suffer blurry apps on my main display? If I use the "all displays same DPI fix" all apps are sharp. So if the base render DPI would match main display, I could get sharp image. And the scaled-down window on external display should look much better than the scaled up window.
I assume the value of render DPI isn't a registry key, but it is a hardoced constant in code. But it should be possible to change it with some nasty dissassembling, etc. I am not afraid of it. However I have no clue, where to start looking for it.

I have tried clear type, doing the reinstallation of the font packages, but none of them worked and I still have blurry font in games and it makes it hard to read. Because Mine font folder is corrupt.
I updated windows, did sfc/scannow defrag disk, chkdsk, try repairing windows, all don't work.

I'm experiencing fuzzy/blurry font and icons for some of the applications. For example: Dell touchpad circular scrolling icon is fuzzy, while on 8.1 it was fine. Even the text in Device manager is fuzzy, while on the properties window of this PC it is fine. See below:-

I got a brand new laptop and updated to windows 10 from windows 8.1.Windows makes me hate windows 10. There were issues like monitor brightness and sound. But now both are fixed after updating the drivers, i guess. I have laptop with 1080p resolution, for reading purposes. 15.6 inches though. So the GUI looks really small when its at 100 display ratio (or whatever its called). So i have increased the ratio to 150% and most of the applications have gone super blurry.
I have looked for fixes online, but all the solutions i have found do not work.I have tried XPE Windows 10 DPI Fix. (Did not work)I have tried putting a cmd file in start up. (Did not work)Now i am rethinking why i bought a windows laptop.
My specs:
Make - ASUS
OS - Windows 10 (Previous 8.1)
Resolution - 1920x1080
Screen size - 15.6 inch
Windows Updates - Up to date

I've just updated Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. It's pretty nice but I found that the text is a little blurry at some areas of the screen. Not everywhere but on some areas The resolution is 1366x768 - as it should be but I the text is blurry anyways. Here's an image:

My setup:
Win10 with 3 monitors: 4k 27" monitor and two 24" 1920x1080 monitors.
Windows suggested 150% dpi for the 4k and 100% for the others.
4k looks great but the 24" (with 100% dpi!) looks terrible. The text is all blurry.
I saw many similar issues [URL] ....and tried the registry changes, but all fixes (including the utility that is out there) set all monitors to the same DPI.
I can't do 100% in the 4k, it's too small, and I must do 100% in the small screens, otherwise it's too big. Got latest drivers for my GeForce GTX 970 and monitors (vendors drivers for all monitors). I really don't want to let go of my 4k, but it is impossible to use the other ones.
I attached an example for when the 4k is d/c (top) and when it is connected (bottom) from the 24" monitor. it is not really text but is shows how terrible it is, I simply can't read for more than a few minutes.

I got a new laptop last weekend and I've noticed an issue with it. I believe it is a software problem.
The screen is a 1080p screen and everything looks great however in some apps, the text becomes blurry. The blurry text only appears in nested sections of an app (not sure if nested is correct). What I mean is, it will show up in installers or event viewer but not firefox or explorer etc.
I've attached some images below.

I don't want anything about graphics cards, spending money, drivers, nothing, how to keep the 640x480 resolution, but render the text (fonts and stuff, not textures) in a higher resolution so it is readable. How to change the size of the score board so I can still see it, even with my low resolution.

This is probably the most painful issue I have with Windows 10 right now (and likely previous versions as well, but I didn't have a multi-monitor setup back then).
The monitors I have are as follows: 3840x2160 (4K UHD) monitor with preferred DPI: 144 (150%)1920x1080 (Full HD) monitor with preferred DPI: 96 (100%)
Whenever one of these monitors are set as primary, all desktop applications displayed on the secondary monitor (doesn't matter which) has blurry text. Exceptions are the Windows Store Apps like Windows Store and Microsoft Edge, along with the Taskbar/Start Menu, the Taskbar/Start Menu settings screen, the Taskbar context menu, and the desktop context menu which passes the DPI test with flying colours, with crispy text on both monitors (occasionally a DPI switch bug gets in, but I can mostly ignore that). The problem is, as you can probably guess, is that >99% of the applications I use aren't Windows Store Apps.
Here are some screenshots. The "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" text is what the text should look like while the Visual Studio 2015 text is an example of the text most desktop apps get. The blurry image is what happens when the UHD monitor is not the primary monitor. Attachment 48493Attachment 48494 Note: Both of these screenshots came from the 150% DPI monitor so it's best viewed at that (144) DPI level. The 96 DPI monitor is similarly affected.
Things I've already tried: Reinstall the graphics driver. Did this multiple times in fact for unrelated reasons.Reinstall Windows 10 (through Reset This PC recovery option). I did this for also unrelated reasons but it definitely doesn't fix this issue.Use the XP Explorer "fix". Merely worsens the problem. Adjusting Clear Type options. Alleviates the issue a bit but see next point.Disabling Clear Type on the affected monitor. The text obviously sharpens, but it's painful to read and a close inspection of the text reveals the issue isn't solved at all, only mitigated slightly.Replacing the video card. I swapped this in with my older GTX 560 Ti but it's obvious the problem remains. Both it and my current card are NVIDIAs though, so it's vaguely possible the drivers or the cards themselves are the cause. I don't have an ATI/AMD card (that still works, at least) to test the setup and every Intel iGPU I have either has only one monitor output or is incapable of handling UHD resolutions.
Things I won't try: Setting both monitors' DPI to 96. Text would become microscopic considering the UHD monitor's actual size.Use the text resizing feature instead. I'm going take a wild guess that this is not monitor-specific and would cause everything on the HD monitor to be far too large to the point that I'd rather unplug it.
Looking for multi-resolution, multi-DPI, multi-monitor setup with or without this issue? The text is painful to read on whichever is the secondary monitor right now, and is extremely apparent whenever the background is dark.

How to indent Footnote text (between the raised number and the body text) automatically?
I have word 2013, and I would like to insert an indentation 1.5 between the raised number and the text in footnotes (see figure 1)
Figure 1
1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
2xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
3xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
When I go to "Footnote Text" style, and then paragraph to do the indentation, it moves the number and the text to the right (see figure 2). But I do not want this.
Figure 2
1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx3xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If I use the hanging option, it only indents the texts below the first line (see figure 3)
Figure 3
1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I have gone to "Footnote Reference" style, but the "paragraph" tab is locked. I cannot enter. How to unlock it? Alternatively, how can I get the results I want (figure 1)....

Is there anyway to change the default 'Calibri' font that is set on opening Notepad or Wordpad?I would love to open Notepad to find the font set at something I like. 'Verdana' for example, so I can just get straight on.I know I sound lazy, but I use Note or Wordpad a lot, often dozens of times in a day, and I need to use a font I can see. I'm just sick of having to do this adjustment every bloody time!!

Bullet Points within Microsoft Office applications are not displaying correctly.
I have tried to restore default fonts settings in "Control PanelAppearance and PersonalisationFontsFont settings" and I have also downloaded all the Windows 10 default fonts, right clicked, install and overwrite all files. Now I seem to have duplicate fonts with _0 and _1 at the end of some of the font names. I've also ran an sfc /scannow command but it didn't find any issue.

How you change the font of the footnote numbering in a document? Whenever I insert footnote, I get the number (1, 2, 3 ...) in "Times New Romans." I am using "Arial" for my writing, but I want the font "Tahoma" for the numbers of the footnotes. Is there any way to modify the font?

I just read this tutorial, and I had no trouble following it, but there's another color I would like to change. In the image below I would like to change the color of the text inside the red rectangle. Is there a way to do that?
You might not be able to see the text in that image, and it's just barely visible on my desktop. I would like text to be more easily readable.

For instance, if I highlight a word in a text-entry field, it's a very bright blue. This is also true in Firefox, Thunderbird, Word, OneNote, various fora, etc. but not in Excel.
Prior to installing Windows 10, the highlight in a text-entry field was either pale grey (on dark backgrounds) or darker grey (on light backgrounds), which is what I'd like to have back.

I am looking for a text editor which will allow me to take multiple lines from one text file (I also have the information in a spreadsheet) and will then replace then lines in another line of that document.
I am trying to make a list for my books and comics.
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
For the comics it would need to replace the above format so;
<Book Series="{Batman}" Number="{01}" Volume="{2011}" </Book>
