When I check for Windows apps updates in Store, PlayReady Blue keeps being notified to have an update. I perform the app update but the next day get the say request. Any thoughts? I believe this is related to DRM functionality, but what more specifically why it is present on my Windows 10 installation?
View 2 RepliesI just installed the BIG Windows 10 update (can't remember what it was called, 1511 or something) and so far it seems all right, except my desktop is a little different. One, my desktop background picture was removed and needs to be reset, no big deal, but all my Microsoft Word files open in Wordpad now (yes, I have a current license, just bought 2016 a few weeks ago--Excel comes up normal...) and the thumbnails have these mysterious blue arrows that point at each other in the corners. I think they might have something to do with file compression? But the arrows are also on some of my program icons in the taskbar, too.

What I have tried netplwiz and unchecked box and also a Microsoft Rep suggested to access user accounts through cmd which I did and that worked a little to where computer needs to enter sleep mode to request password where as before when screen just shut off to save power and hitting power button before sleep activated password request happened.
The device is a Surface 3 with Win 10 from 8.1 where 8.1 never had this issue. Also, I think is weird, when sign in comes up it says switch user in bottom left but computer only has one user that I can verify through control panel and cmd using net users. So issue is tablet goes into sleep mode will request password but instead of entering password you can hit power button and select restart then Win 10 signs right in, weird.
My windows 10 store doesn't open. When I click it, the blue screen comes up meaning its loading but it closes while loading. I had restarted my laptop and it continues to happen.
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to intstall updates for Windows 7 in Control Panel/Check for updates/Install Updates, but Upgrade to Windows 10 is on screen and I can't seem to proceed without the update. I already tried it and I don't like it so backed out. I don't want to upgrade and want it off of my computer. How do I remove it and all the components associated with it? I only use it for personal use, email, Facebook, a few games, etc. and not for business. 10 was too confusing and there's no one over my shoulder teaching me a new system and where all my stuff went.

View 9 RepliesI've disabled automatic updates (drivers, Win updates) by making changes to Win 10. Now every entry in Update History is listed as a failed update. Of course, no update has failed; I don't want to install them yet. Is there a way to delete failed update entries?

My question is, will win 10 apps and office 2016 default update through windows update?
How do auto updates work in the store? I noticed when I went into it there were some updates showing for things like calculator and one note. The progress bar indicated they were fully downloaded but they didn't seem to be disappearing from the list or installing themselves. Is this normal behaviour? It's not an issue as I clicked the download arrow and this seemed to manually prompt their installation immediately. They all worked fine.
i guess what I am asking is would they of installed eventually on their own? I only had the computer on for about twenty minutes or so. It didn't have loads of time to do its thing perhaps. Maybe they download and install themselves after a certain period of idle time? Or on shutdown? How often does the store to app update checks - are they pushed or is there something like once in every 24 hours in place? do recall spotting this once before with some of the MS core apps.
I'm not sure if it's a Surface 3 specific issues and the S3 has been one problem after another on Win 10 but my store downloads and Windows Update downloads just seem to get stuck and never complete. WU never gets off of "Waiting for download".
Every so a store update may start to download. It can take a good 4 to 8 hours, if at all, for all the updates to process. If a download does start it seems to run normally.
Checking my task manager shows the CPU and network are mostly sitting idle.
I've cleared out the SofrwareDistribution folder but it hasn't worked.
When i'm going to "Downloads" of the Store of Windows 10. All Updates are in progress. But nothing will be downloaded or anything else.
Also my Mail app won't even start anymore. It stucks on the blue screen bootup and never go further.
This is on my Surface Pro 3.
My store is playing up on the latest release. I have four pending updates, none of which will download, one of them is store itself, another is word mobile which is now not working and wont uninstall either. Any time I try to pause or cancel any of the downloads the app simply freezes and I have to close it and the same cycle repeats.
View 4 RepliesSo this is not my personal computer, but this is my mom's computer. Its an HP Slimline Desktop computer, not sure about the exact model but it is running with an AMD Athlon X2 B24, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, AMD R5 240 and a Corsair Neutron 120GB SSD.
Everything was working fine when it was running a legitimate OEM copy of Windows 7 Home. However, after the Windows 10 upgrade process, it got stuck in "Welcome Back" Screen and she told me after she clicked "Next" the cursor started spinning, and it rebooted. Now after checking it, Windows wouldn't load to the desktop, it would just go on a bootloop and blue screens.
She didn't back anything up before the upgrade. I do not know what to do.
After tonight's updates, this morning I've seen that Store and Edge's icons are white square.When last night I turned off the PC I noticed there was an update and this morning a page of Edge, What's new (get started), opened and the icon on the taskbar was a white square. Then searching for an app in the store I saw that the icon was the same: a white square. (see the screenshots).I did a "sfc / verifyonly"

I just got an update of windows 10 on my Lumia 535. I found few issues. I hope i'll get some solutions here.
Problem: When i visited into Store -> Downloads and Updates, it shows me list of all the apps which needs to update. But the worst part is that there is no way to view/find out that what is the updates available for a specific application. I tried long press on the list, but no luck.
Any other way to get the updates information.
I've got 6 different app updates that seem to be stuck in the pending/downloading step in the app store. These are mostly updates to MS apps like Mail/Calendar, Solitaire, Camera, OneNote and Get Office plus a major update to VLC.
There's no error messages, just no progress downloading after several hours. This has probably been an issue for days now considering when these updates were officially announced.
1. Win S launches Cortana.
2. A desktop shortcut to Cortana works.
3. The start menu Cortana shortcut launches Store (it was working at some point..)
Win 10 is now running... well, actually quite smoothly- as far as I know, this is the only oddity (until I turn over another stone..)
I normally use Classic shell, and don't use Cortana. However, having found changing settings has disrupted Cortana, I sometimes check- I feel I've seen a comment about this somewhere.
I tried this:

So today, as it is all over Windowscentral, some of the MS core apps and VLC for Windows 10 got their updates. However, they are stuck at 0% and showing no signs of progress. I've tried cancelling them all, rebooting and download on at a time but it was no use.

View 2 RepliesI have just upgraded to Windows 10, and I was trying to install Netflix and Skype and both of them weren't downloading. Then I clicked on the download icon in the top right and it showed a lot of downloads pending and a few were "Downloading" it said how big the install was and the progress. 0.0MB even after waiting it didn't go up a bit.
The situation:
I have an Ethernet connection directly to my router. I use windows 10 64 Bit version Home. I live in the Netherlands but in order to use Cortana changed Region to United states.
I have tried changing it back to Netherlands seeing if that would change anything but it didn't.
I have left the store running for a few hours now. Still nothing but I did get a message with a few apps "Give us a few minutes"
And when I click see details it shows an error code 0x8024001e
I just installed Windows 10 and im getting this error 0x80073D02, when i open up the store i see the Store app updating and as soon as it starts downloading the update it says Error, try again. The error code is 0x80073D02, in case you need it.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to open Windows Update under Settings and it will not load. It's just a blank page where Windows Update usually is. Also, under Settings and Windows Update I can't click on Windows Defender, Backup, Recovery, Activation, or Fore Developers.
Also, I have tried to open the Windows Store and the wheel keeps spinning. That's all it will do.
I can't make a screenshot because I can't get the screenshot to paste in paint.
So basically, the problem is that I can't open anything except for Microsoft Edge which is what I am now because the Windows 10 applications are not working properly.
I'm aware that automatic updates via windows update cannot be disabled in windows 10 Home - does that apply to the store also.
In my Surface 3 (updated to win 10) the option to disable store updates automatically is greyed out with a message to contact my administrator (which is me!)
(I also have another win10 VM running pro where the option is not greyed out)
I have to click on download to check available updates in the store and get ALL updates, then quickly click on pause so they all don't start downloading. Anyway I can keep certain ones from showing up to update (usually apps I don't use). There are some I want to update, but to weed through all updates is annoying.
