I have an HP Officejet 6700 All-In-One printer which is connected online, no USB. The unit has been printing and scanning up I until I upgraded to Windows 10. The printer still works but I can not scan. I tried doing the command prompt "SFC /scannow" but the system could not find any problems.
My canon printer isn't supported by Windows 10. Troubleshooting it just tells me there is no drivers. It prints fine, but i cannot use the scanner. Is there any way i can get the scanner to work, more specifically in gIMP?
I've been experimenting with Windows 10 using a VM (VirtualBox) before upgrading. One challenge has been to see if I could get my old 1999 Epson Perfection 1200 scanner working in Windows 10 since Epson do not provide any 64 bit drivers.
I discovered you can use the Epson 64 bit drivers for the Perfection 2400 and they work fine with the Perfection 1200. The Epson Scan program is fully functional for normal reflective scans and film scanning (if you have the attachment). The built in Windows scan program also works. This fix also works in Windows 8.
Here is how to do it:
Download and install the Perfection 2400U drivers from Epson USA, version 3.04A [URL] .... Connect and turn on your scanner Run Device Manager The Perfection 1200U will be shown under under Other Devices Select Update Driver Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software"Choose 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer' UNCHECK the 'Show compatible hardware 'Click on 'Epson' in the Manufacturer box, and the scroll down through model until you find "Epson Perfection 2400', and choose that, and press Next Ignore the 'Update Driver warning - choose 'Yes'; to continue to install. The Perfection 2400 will now be shown in Device Manager. Note that the Perfection 1200 will still be shown under Devices & Printers Run Epson Scan and test the scanner. You may need to log out and log in again for program to work
After installing windows 10 over a 64 bit version of Windows 8.1, my HP 3800 scanner status says driver not installed. I was unable to find the requisite driver within windows or on the net, even on the HP site. Question is will a previous windows 8.1 driver work?
I finally upgraded to W10...upgrade went smoothly and at no time during the process was I asked to input a password. When the upgrade was finished the first screen asked for a password. I put in the password that I had been using for the welcome screen on W7 but it was not accepted. How I can either create a new P/W or get past this welcome screen.
Have a new laptop that has Win 10 Home pre-installed...no recover disk was supplied. Is there a way to see if this laptop is a clean/fresh factory install of Windows 10 Home....or was upgraded at the factory from a Win 7 and/or Win 8.1 ? It was sold as a Windows 10 Home laptop ?
Ok i have a pc and a dell laptop that upgraded fine. My gateway has not upgraded past 10061 , i tried doing a reset and it just reinstalled 10061 with the same problem.
I just upgraded from windows 7 64bit to Windows 10 and it will not recognise CD Drive there is nothing wrong with the CD Drive as I rolled back to Windows 7 again for a short while and it worked perfectly...
I upgraded to win 10 today from 7. After rebooting my screen now shows windows wallpaper (one of their scenic view wallpaper) as I had a custom picture and it displays the date and time in the left corner. See attached picture. I have no cursor and the keyboard doesn't work. The keyboard and mouse light up like their connected properly but they don't work. Ctrl Alt Del does not work.
I've plugged them into other USB ports but I get the same result. I've booted into bios and the mouse and the keyboard work there. I've rebooted dozens of times to the same result. I also downloading the media creation tool to a USB drive and tried booting from that and repairing the OS but no result...
I successfully upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 (both Pro 64-bit) in PC's old HDD. Now I want do a clean install on a brand new SSD. I have a few questions before I buy the SSD.
1. First off, is it possible to do a clean install of Win 10 in the new SSD especially after I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 in the old HDD?
2. If 1 is possible, then at any point do I need to enter the Win 10 license key? I have used a Win 10 license key viewing tool to find out what it is.
3. Should I use the Win 10 Media Creation tool to create the ISO or just download an untouched Win 10 Pro 64 bit ISO, burn it to a DVD and do a straightforward install?
4. What happens to the Win 10 in the old HDD? Does it get deactivated on its own?
So, as the title suggests, I have just upgraded my Desktop PC to Windows 10 as I was under the impression that the Free Upgrade would expire soon (I have since learned it expires June of next year, GG me).
I completed the upgrade 5 days ago, took about an hour and forty minutes to fully upgrade. It takes me to the log in screen and I type in the password and It just sort of...sits there. Any time I type in the password or click on anything other than the options on the login screen and the screen fades into white as it becomes unresponsive, then few seconds afterwords the screen turns black and then after another 3-4 seconds, my PC reboots as if the power has been turned off.
I don't really know much of the Specs of my PC, as that's never really mattered to me before. I know the Model is an HP Pavilion p6000 and I have own it since 2010. I'm not sure if my PC is too old to handle Win 10. I know before the upgrade I had 280 Gigs of memory left out of 450, so it shouldn't be a memory issue.
I tried submitting this problem to r/Windows10 and they suggested I try and boot the computer in Safe Mode...I honestly didn't know what Safe Mode was so I was lead here, to the Forum. I've tried obtaining Safe mode by turning it on/off twice in a row to trigger the auto repair and it took me to thing screen.

I tried clicking on the "US" option...and my mouse wouldn't show up. So, the point is, for whatever reason I can't log in to my PC now.
I have a 4 yr old custom built desktop upgraded from Win 7 pro to Win 10 pro about 8 months ago. Up until two weeks ago the sleep/wake up has worked perfect. Now the unit will not wake from sleep. I have tried everything I have seen and nothing has worked. It has to be booted from sleep. I have now set sleep time to never and will shut the unit down at night rather than letting it go to sleep.
Upgraded windows 7 to 10, now computer starts only after second power up. The first startup just freezes but second works OK. How to avoid this? In the mean time I just let computer sleep instead of shutdown.
Cannot see any emails in my folders pre-update. How can I retrieve them ? I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8 and appear to be missing emails. How can I retrieve them?
