Upgraded But The Non Default Theme Will Not Change
Feb 10, 2016I just upgrade to windows 10. I like it, but the non default theme will not change I just want to change the selected option where its blue.

Jan 5, 2016I regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems. Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.
Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.
Customization :: Can't Change Theme Settings For Desktop Background / Color And Sound
Aug 1, 2015Navigating to Settings > Personalization > Themes > Theme Settings, we get to the Personalization window for Themes same as on Win 7. In the window it states "Click a theme to change the desktop background, color, and sounds all at once."
However, the icons normally at the bottom of the window to change those settings are missing. All I can do is save the theme (right click).

Jan 19, 2016I recently upgraded my Hard Drive with an Samsung SSD Drive evo 850 for my operating system and programs. I placed the secondary drive to host my file folders. Somehow in the mist of trying to automatically port my default Document, Downloads, Pictures,Videos and Music Folder to the secondary drive, my Music folder name changed to (Document) as you can see on the image with the arrow pointed to it.. Now i tried to right click it and in the General tab it shows the name Document greyed with the music symbol out, so i can't change it.

Aug 17, 2015I would like to change default system fonts that are used in applications, file managers, shell menus, windows titles, but I can not find the option to do so. I am comming from the Linux Mint where you have option "fonts" in control panel and there you change fonts, but here in W10 I can not find anything similar. Also, on my laptop Acer E5-571G, fonts are kinda hard to read, they are not very clear, like here on this site for example. Clear type tuning or however it is called is turned on. This is why I would like to change fonts to something else than default.

Feb 10, 2016In previous versions of Windows, a quick registry hack has let me create my main user (after the one in C:Users created when installing Windows) in E:Users rather than C:Users.
This is the method I've used before:
Use Regedit to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList
and alter ProfilesDirectory, in my case to E:Users.
Does this works in W10, or will I be a path-finder?

Oct 27, 2015I noticed since going to 10 that clicking on magnet links does not open bittorrent. I have rerun windows and still the same problem. in cyberfox i fixed it easily enough, but for chrome and torch no love. I found a couple of things about registry entries but they did not work. I try to assign bittorrent to magnet links in windows but i cannot choose a default app from the system, I only get what you see below which is to "look for an app in the store". there must be a way to fix this so i can pick an app already on my system.

Feb 23, 2016Whenever I plug a photo card in to my PC, the new Photo Viewer program is launched (which doesn't find the card but that doesn't matter as I don't want to use that program anyway). How can I change the default import program to one of my choice (Lightroom).
I can of course shut it down, load Lightroom and then select the card but I always have to go through the process of first shutting down the program that loads automatically. If anything is going to load automatically I would rather pick my own!

Sep 18, 2015Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer has developed a little glitch where every time I turn it on it switches the function keys to default, instead of the special action keys. I've tried switching it in settings but it does nothing. I've tried switching it in the Bios menu. Also nothing. I hate having to press the [Fn] key every time I want to pause a song or change the volume or the screen brightness, but the system seems determined to force me to do so?

Using Mail for Win 10 for first time, as that is what appeared for my Outlook email account. I found today that when using either CC or BCC a 'Return' occurs immediately after entering an email address, thereby moving the cursor to the line below, requiring moving the cursor back to that original line so that another email address can be entered, and again and again.. Never saw this before so probably/hopefully a fix is coming.
While typing an email I touched the Caps Lock key mid-sentence and typed one capital letter in error. I touched that key turning off the caps lock function and the light went off. But from that point on I could only type in CAPS regardless of what I did. I had to close email and restart it to have it return to normal.
Can't Enter Regedit After Trying To Change Default Installation Path
Mar 31, 2016I just bought a new laptop with an SSD and a 1TB harddrive - I wanted to change the default installation path from the SSD, to the harddrive and found this link to do it: [URL] .....
So I followed the instructions from the thread:
"Open regedit (Start > Run > "regedit"). Then find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion". Now look in the right pane. Change "ProgramFilesDir", "ProgramFilesPath", "ProgramW6432Dir" and "ProgramFilesDir (x86)". If your secondary drive letter is D:, then change them to "D:Program Files", "D:Program Files", "D:Program Files" and "D:Program Files (x86)", in that order that I just mentioned."
But now i can't install or uninstall programs, I can't open regedit to revert the changes, and the backup I made (also by following the thread) doesn't work! I can't even open up Task Manager... When i try using "run" and typing in "regedit", an error pops up saying: "Windows cannot find C:WINDOWS
egedit.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I cannot use "run" as an administrator either. How can i reverse what i did?
Customization :: Change Default Color Of The Start Menu And Taskbar
Jan 29, 2015Build 9926 and using the default Start Menu.
To change the default Color of the Start Menu & Taskbar go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Personalization > Color And Appearance then select Show Color Mixer. These 3 sliders will modify the solid color chosen above that also modifies the color of the Start Menu & Taskbar.
The Color Intensity slider only modifies the color of the window borders.

Color Intensity & Color Mixer functions (Sliders) have been depreciated and no longer have any effect of altering a chosen color for builds newer than 10130.
