Using Bluetooth / Wireless Keyboard During First Boot?
Dec 7, 2015I just finished my first build computer. I only have wireless keyboard and mouse. Can I use this with the first boot of my pc or do I need a wired keyboard?

View 1 RepliesI recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.
View 3 RepliesI got onto my computer this morning and noticed that it had rebooted. Figured out it updated the latest patch. However, from that point on, I haven't been able to get anything from my computer. Wireless won't work, can connect to any bluetooth device, and none of my USB thumb drives will show up. I have tried logging back out, as well as rebooting. Nothing seems to be working. Since I can't connect to anything, I can't update any drivers (writing this on my mac... )
I tried uninstalling the patch, and it won't. Just spins. Tried to do a system restore, but it won't open up the dialog to allow me to choose. Tried to do diagnostics on the wireless driver and it just hangs. I have to shut it down.
For a while, whenever I connect my wireless headphones using Bluetooth to my Windows 10 laptop, the internet goes a lot slower for an unknown reason.

View 1 RepliesBluetooth keyboard wont pair after windows 10 update? I tried the keyboard on other devices not running windows 10 and used it prior on windows 8.1 without any problems but now on Toshiba laptop and tablet along with an acer desktop all running windows 10 the Bluetooth keyboard wont connect.
It shows up ready to pair then i click pair and enter the numbers it tells me to and press enter then it states its connect for about a minute then just states its paired after that. even if i turn it on and off or Bluetooth on and off it only states its connect for a short time then just goes back to pair but at no time during the time it says its connected does it work. also other Bluetooth audio devices work fine without issue.
I had to reinstall from scratch Windows 10 Enterprise 32-bit on my Dell Venue 8 Pro 32 GB tablet. After the first installation, the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (both work fine under Windows 8.1), disconnected after 10-12 seconds. However, probably after one of the automatic updates, they started working normally (it took about a day or so).
Now, after the 2nd Windows 10 installation, the problem with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse reappeared. I forced the Windows updates, but no luck.
It's curious because, if I keep the Settings window active, on the Bluetooth page, both the keyboard and the mouse work. If I minimize the Settings window, after about 30 seconds, both devices stop working. If I close the Settings window, or move to a different settings page, both devices stop working immediately.
I have changed the Bluetooth Support Service from Manual to Automatic, but it did not work. Running the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter did not work either.
Just upgraded to Win 10 this morning, everything was smooth except for one thing: my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse stopped working. Looks like there's an error with the Broadcom Bluetooth USB driver, which is already the latest and greatest according to Windows, which obviously it ain't. Where to get working drivers? Surprisingly there's nothing about Windows 10 on Broadcom's site??
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 (upgraded from Win 7.1) installed on an iMac on a Bootcamp partition. When I was running Windows 7.1, all the function keys (to control brightness, volume, music playing) worked perfectly. Now under Windows 10 none of them work. And yes, I did go into the setup and try turning on and off the check box for whether or not the keys performed as Function keys with and without holding the FN key. If I go into Bluetooth devices, the keyboard is shown properly as an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard.
View 2 RepliesOn boot up where the keyboard is unresponsive and so unable to sign in to windows ? the only fix is to carry out a re start and then all is well.
View 4 RepliesI have installed windows 10 and it was working great and then I turned on my pc and when it gets to the screen after the blue windows logo where one would normally login my keyboard and mouse will not work. I've tried them on every USB port I have and nothing works.
View 4 Replies I was browsing the internet, my computer suddenly began to freeze up and run extremely slow. After roughly 5 minutes of that, I was met with a black screen and really no other choice than to hold down the power button and force a shut down on the computer. Upon the computer booting back up, I see a Windows 10 logo and a small circular loading graphic that's spinning as if its loading. This happens for a few minutes until an error message appears "Unmountable_Boot_volume" and the PC automatically restarts itself.
On the second reboot, I see the same Windows 10 logo but instead of a loading bar, its just text indicating the computer will now try to automatically repair itself. This is when the computer takes me to the "Choose your keyboard layout" screen on what I assume to be the repair interface. The problem is that my keyboard/mouse are not recognized or working at this stage, so I'm unable to select an option and progress. I've read that there are some possibilities at a fix or way to get the keyboard to function through the use of the BIOS menu, however any attempts to press "Esc" on my keyboard or any of the other functions such as "F10" for a boot menu results in an instant freeze of my PC.
I'm running Windows 10 on an HP Pavilion P6000 series. I've already done my own research as to what could be causing this and have tried a few things such as manually resetting the CMOS, reseating pieces of hardware, only plugging in essential cords (Keyboard, Monitor, and Power cable). and disconnecting the power to the Motherboard and reconnecting it.
Installed MSI's "Fast boot" software, upon restarting every time I am greeted with a bluescreen mentioning it not detecting a device.
MSI Fast boot also seems to increase the time it takes for the mouse and keyboard to start so when it asks "Press enter to Retry, or F8 to change settings" i cannot do anything as the keyboard and mouse are not on.
If its possible to fix this without reinstalling.
Okay, so I take blame for accidentally messing up my Windows 10. My NVIDIA graphics card wasn't working and wasn't letting me install my drivers. Well that aside, now that I installed older Drivers Windows 10 registers something horribly wrong. It wants to do a system repair. Okay, good, fine with me. But then when it gets to the page for me to select a keyboard layout, I have no mouse and my keyboard doesn't work either.
Anytime I press a button on them their backlights turn on, but then turn back off when I don't do anything with them.
I can't afford to get a new OS, I have no DVD Drive so I definitely can't do anything that requires a disk. What do I do?
My question, as stated in the title is how to keep the onscreen keyboard from disappearing every time i start to type eon the physical one. You may wonder why I am doing that but, but it is not for English, I am currently enrolled in an Arabic course at my Uni and i am trying to create online flashcards, since i always end up studying from the comp anyways, plus they're just other ways for me to study.
The problem comes from not having a nice layover like keyboard like they do for macs and having to buy stickers, this is a passed around laptop, I cant do that. I have the Arabic onscreen keyboard but that is mighty slow, having to click and point. Is there any fix to this or is there an Arabic third party onscreen that will do the same thing I'm asking.
I like to think I am fairy familiar with installation and set-up but this has got me beat. After installing Windows 10 my wifi continually drops out every 10 minutes or so. Cable connections are fine and other devices in the house are fine; just my laptop.
View 1 RepliesMy Dell laptop which is windows 10 only has a chronic problem with the adapter constantly needing to be reset. Searching for similar problems led me to the possibility of a USB adapter.
View 1 RepliesYooooo! I have a Lenovo Y510p with modified BIOS so I could replace the crappy Intel wireless card that came with it (Intel Centrino N2230) for an Azurewave - Broadcom 4352. The experience has been good so far, the only problem I'm having is the low wireless signal with the card. I have other laptops that have higher range and strengths on the same place with older cards.
I've tried verifying (and even swapping) the cables and noted no difference. I asked on another forum and they told me that it could be that the card is not receiving enough power, but I have yet to find a settings in the BIOS or in Windows that dwindles its performance. I have recently updated the driver from Lenovo's website and it didn't improve a bit. How to improve the wireless signal?
Yesterday, I successfully installed Win 10 on a neighbor's Win 7 laptop. However, it could not connect to the internet, explaining that his Wi-Fi software (which worked fine with Win 7) was incompatible with Win 10. I switched him to DSL and he is doing fine. But how do I get him compatible Wi-Fi software?
My three laptops are all Windows 8 Spanish edition, upgraded to 8.1, and then upgraded to 10. All run wireless with no problem.
I was update my windows, after that i turn off then turn on my laptop and then my wireless connection couldn't on even i tried to restart and try to click on, it cant be on, how to fix this things? I really need to connect to internet
View 3 RepliesI installed the upgrade on my toshiba satellite everything seems ok except i cannot connect to the internet via wireless only ethernet cable and there is no sound. I have run a toshiba diagnostic and it offers no resolution.
View 1 RepliesI just got my first PC today and I'm a bit of noob. I tried to connect to the internet but noticed that there simply was no option to connect to a wireless network. A wired network works fine though. I checked on the internet. I have a gigabyte z170x gaming 7 as my motherboard. URL....
View 1 RepliesI am having major issues with Windows 10 Pro and my wireless card in my desktop. I have an ASUS Maximus Impact VII with the mPCIe Combo IV WiFi card. I had to disable the card in the BIOS just to get Windows 10 installed. I re-enable the card and can boot into W10, it shows up in Device Manager and adapters (greyed). I can't enable it. Tried uninstalling and deleting drivers, then scan for new hardware. It kicks the card on and I get WiFi bars in the taskbar, but then immediately freezes Windows. This is coming from a clean install of 10, no VPN in 8.1 and I tried the reg delete command to make sure. I purchased a USB WiFi adapter to see if it would work. Same results. I decided I would install Windows 7 out of curiosity. SAME THING. It's strange, the WiFi works flawlessly in Windows 8.1, but not at all in 7 or 10. I have tried the 3 latest BIOS revisions for my motherboard, as well as the only available W10 driver for the adapter.
View 1 Repliesi have got an upgrade of window 10 2 days back...i have installed it but wireless driver is not installing on my laptop as i have tried it many times....i have installed driver tool kit but it needs internet as i can not connect to any W-network because of driver incompatibility.
View 1 RepliesI have sony vaio series s wireless connection was working before now when i tried to turn on it's directly come to off. I cannot connect to my hotspot also there is and x sign on the wireless logo on the task bar !!
View 1 RepliesI started my PC in a new premises with a Wireless modem, I have two other PC's connected.
When I started the PC it saw the wireless network and the option came up to connect and there was a tick in the "Connect Automatically" box.
I selected OK but got a message "unable to connect".
I did not get the opportunity to enter the Password/Key.
Now the PC will not connect to the Network nor will and Diagnose and repair fix anything.
BTW the Ethernet adaptor has been disabled.
The laptop I am sending this from is next to the PC so the wireless signal is okay.
