View 7 RepliesI've recently had an issue where sometimes on waking my computer the mouse is barely responsive and is super laggy. The cursor will move but really slowly and I am not allowed to click on anything. The keyboard is able to get me through the password screen and navigate responsively. When I go to restart the computer using keyboard commands, the restart logo will spin and spin and spin and I ultimately have to hard shut down. When the computer starts up, everything is fine. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the mouse and the mouse completely shuts off and no lights are on.
Specs etc.

Windows 10

Nvidia Geforce 970
My only suspect is it's an issue with the Logitech software, but I've never had this happen before and googling hasn't turned up anything similar to what is happening.
Recently my mouse pointer has been disappearing when the system wakes in Windows 10 Pro. I can still see it highlighting when moving the mouse and the dialog open with a right click. It only comes back if I open the Task Manager or a separate window. Strangely if I manually put the computer to sleep through the power menu this issue does not seem to appear, it only shows when the computer sleeps after the allotted time.
Not sure if this is an issue with Nvidia Drivers or a Windows Update.
Yesterday I downloaded and had a fresh installation of windows 10 (means I have no backup of my previous windows 7). Now since installation, whenever my PC goes to sleep I fail to wake it up by pressing any key on the keyboard or touchpad.
I've tried to find the power management in keyboard settings from the device manager but I failed to find any option there.

I have power settings to shut the screen off after 15 min. and put PC to sleep after 20 min. After returning to the PC after more than 20 minutes the PC won't wake up when I move the mouse or type on the keyboard. How do I wake the PC? This only happened since I installed Windows 10.
View 5 RepliesRig only a few weeks old and I noticed for the second time now when my computer is left alone for awhile it acts like it's in sleep mode but mouse and keyboard don't seem to be waking it. I fixed it last time by just restarting computer...
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 on my laptop - have for about a month. I installed their updates a couple of days ago, and since then, when my laptop goes to sleep, it won't wake up! When i open the top, the power light is lit, like it normally would, but nothing! Just a black screen So I have to hold the the power button down for a reset, and it has to completely reboot before I can use it again. Apart from this being frustrating as all hell, and time consuming, I am worried that I am going to damage my laptop doing this constantly. How do I fix this?
View 1 RepliesI have an Asus Ultrabook, UX302L. It came with windows 8 from the factory, I upgraded it to windows 10, all nice and wonderful. About a month ago, I replaced my HDD with an Samsung 850 Evo SSD and I installed a clean copy of Windows 10 which I activated with my windows 8 key. All good till here. But after that my nightmare started:
I can't put my laptop to sleep, because when I try to wake it up it restarts instead, and I lose all my documents, programs started before, etc.
I tried to install a older Intel Management Engine because I found out that the last one is buggy (and it is, I can't even put my computer to hubernate with it, the fans just keep running till it drains my battery, but with the IME 9ish at least hibernation work), I tried to disable fast boot, to install an older version of the integrated intel graphics card driver, tried to put my HDD's to never sleep, disabled hybrid sleep, set the AHCI link power management to HIMP/DIMP, etc.....
I bought this laptop 2 weeks ago, it is a HP Pavillion Notebook. For about a week now, maybe even since when I got it, the laptop sometimes fails to wake up from sleep. The screen stays black, gets slightly lit up to gray, then the computer and goes through all that comes with that instead of waking up.
The event log shows a Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework error.

After updating to Windows 10 Pro recently I get a lot of BSOD's (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION). Mostly when my laptop wakes up from a well deserved moment of sleep. Also I noticed that sometimes the laptop awakens from sleep when I didn't ask it to wake up.
Culprit (driver probably). Here's the dump file I collected XPS-vr_21-08-2015_120314,69.zip

My laptop goes to sleep and never wakes up without having to force a restart. I have changed the settings so it will never sleep or turn off the display, but, it goes to sleep anyway
So, I don't know how to fix it, and I need to know how. I turn my back for 5 minutes, and all my unsaved work is lost cause I have to force a shutdown. The computer goes to sleep, I press the on button, the computer starts doing its usual hum, the number lock light turns on, and nothing else happens.
How can I fix the sleep function for an HP laptop using Windows 10? After it goes into sleep mode, it won't wake-up. Have to cold boot to restart.
View 2 RepliesLaptop does not wake up from sleep when either power button, keyboard buttons or mouse touchpad are pressed. A forced reboot is always required. HDD light off, monitor stays black and battery light and fan still on.
Have had this problem for over a week since downloading and using Advanced SystemCare and Driver Booster. Once the problem occured I uninstalled them but nothing changed. Also there was a few recent windows updates at beginning of March but haven't read anywhere that they are causing similar problems. Have tried the obvious fixes but nothing seems to work.

When I put my laptop to sleep and then attempt to wake it up, it will power on (going through the boot up screens) instead of just waking up, thus causing me to lose any information open on the computer.
I have tried a few things to try to wake it up to no avail:
sfc /scannow in cmd
unplug all usb devices before going to sleep/waking up
rollback graphics drivers
resetting power plan settings and power button settings back to default state
Is there some memory dump file to fix this?
Whenever my laptop goes to sleep, the only way to wake it up is through the laptop's keyboard (pressing any key on the keyboard). But when I press the USB keyboard or the USB mouse, it doesn't wake up.I use my laptop mostly as a "desktop": I connect it through an HDMI cable to a larger 24" monitor, and the laptop is lying closed in the corner. It is just annoying to open the laptop and press the keyboard.. not a big deal, but if it's possible to change that it will be good !
View 6 RepliesAfter the upgrade from 8.1 on my laptop the mouse slider doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesThe laptop works fine with a keyboard but whenever i try connecting a mouse it stops sleeping or dimming and i know it's not the mouse because i tried it on a different laptop (windows 10).
View 1 RepliesI updated my HP Pavilion laptop to Windows 10 last weekend. Ever since then, I've had a problem any time I'm typing. I can't seem to type for more than 5 seconds without a left click happening on its own (sometimes it's a right click, oddly), which usually either opens a menu, moves where in the document/webpage I'm typing, or stops my typing altogether.
For example, if I'm on an email website, and click New Mail or Reply and leave my cursor hovering over that button, after about five seconds of my typing, the button is clicked again. If I'm typing in a box (like I'm doing right now), I can keep the cursor hovering over the box and my cursor will click somewhere else in the box suddenly, or if I keep the cursor hovering over the outside of the page it'll click and suddenly I can't type anymore. If the cursor is hovering over something I've already typed, I'm suddenly typing back in that earlier text.
This happens when using both a wireless mouse or the touchpad. I typically have the touchpad turned off so I can use the wireless mouse, but have the same problem with the mouse off and its USB dongle not connected.
I also have a problem when using the touch pad that after I've typed for, again, about five seconds the touch pad is completely unresponsive. That's not as bad a problem, since I normally use the wireless mouse. But I'd like to get that fixed, too.
today my desktop went to sleep mode, and i had problems waking it up, i didnt know how to do it.Whats the default way to do this in a desktop pc? And even better if its possible, i would like to be able to wake pc by mouse clicking, is there any posible way to do this?
View 1 RepliesI use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?

View 2 RepliesI choose SLEEP and my PC goes to sleep, and there is a light on front of my PC Unit that flashes.
But I can't wake Windows 10 up. I tried pressing all buttons on mouse and keyboard, nothing happens ...
I downloaded windows 10 yesterday and everything seemed to be working fine. However, every time I shut my computer, it's supposed to go into sleep mode from which a shake of the mouse will wake it. It is indeed going to sleep, but I can't wake it through any interaction with the mouse or keyboard. The power light is still on, indicating that the computer is sleeping, but I can't get it to wake up. I have had to hold the power button to turn it off and then on and I'm pretty sure that's terrible for my computer to not shut down properly.
