Oct 21, 2015I can put recorded video files on my PC to the TV but cannot get live streamed video to the TV. Is it even possible.

Aug 14, 2015I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.
I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail?
Video Up Side Down And No Sound On Skype And Facebook Video Call
Dec 20, 2015Since installing Windows 10 my video picture is upside down and there is no sound. I can see the other party correctly but neither of us can hear. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10. Windows Media Player works ok. Skype Echo 123 doesn't work.

edit: also youtube videos 60-70% of the time wont play straight away and have to wait 10 seconds

Oct 3, 2015Having recently updated to Windows 10, I am astonished (annoyed) to discover Windows 10 does not play WMV video files, particularly those created using Windows Movie Maker. There doesn't seem to be very much advice on this on the net and the following is short list of the tried and failed suggestions:
Turning on/off WMP through Control Panel>Programs>Programs & Features>Turn Windows Feature On or Off.Repeating the above then restarting my laptop twice, after which running sfc/scannow at the Command Prompt.Disabling / enabling "Turn on DirectX Video Acceleration for WMV files" in WMP Options.Troubleshooting Fix via Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Troubleshooting>All Categories>Windows Media Player Settings - this just returns the message "Configuration settings might be set incorrectly" - but doesn't expand on what settings are wrong.
I also came across this "FIX: Update to enable DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) of Windows Media Video content in Windows Media 10" at [URL] .....
However after downloading the 'fix' (Download the WindowsMedia10-KB888656-x86-Global-ENU.exe package now.) it doesn't install - instead I get the error message "Not enough storage is available to process this command".
I know that there are third party free WMV players available, but I liked WMP and cannot understand why it won't work on Windows 10.

Apr 4, 2016I restarted my PC after my screen blanked out in a game I was playing after changing the resolution. Then when I boot my PC, the Windows logo appears, the loading thing starts rotating, then it black screens and my monitor displays some text saying "no video avaliable".The only thing I can think of is hard drive corrupted as, whilst running, my PC almost tipped over, but I stopped it.
I will try boot the PC with another hard drive to test my theory
HP Split 13 X2 - Video Won't Play
Sep 9, 2015I have an HP Split X3 Tablet/Laptop (13-m110dx) that I just recently updated to Windows 10 Pro.
All is going very well with it except video playback from anything such as Plex or YouTube. What happens is: The video will start but will just keep looping the first second of the video while playing really choppy sound.
I have done the following: Installed the latest drivers from HPInstalled the drivers that were used on Windows 8.1Uninstalled all Windows UpdatesDid a clean install of Windows 10 Pro
I'm suspecting that it is the 'Intel Chipset Installation Utility' that is messing it up.

Aug 24, 2015I have an ASUS Sabetooth z97 Mark2, updated to the latest bios and when I install Windows 10 the first thing I notice is it is using the default microsoft video driver. I have an ATI FireGL v7350. I downloaded the latest driver and installed it, but it does not get picked up. I have updated the chipsets with the latest drivers and still no luck. I have four other computers that are a lot older and didnt have a problem one installing Win10. This box which has the z97/ati video/32g of ram/SSD. just will not upgrade properly.

Dec 4, 2015Every once and a while my sound just starts stuttering. It sounds like short bursts of sound every second and I;m not sure whats going on. My video does something similar where it will continue to stutter. The only fix that I have found was to either wait it out or just restart my computer. This has been happening each time I use my computer for the past 2 weeks. In addition to all of these problems my pc tends to not wake up when I put it in sleep mode after use, the only fix to turn off my PSU the turn it on again.

Feb 3, 2016I have been trying to record streaming video from a site using several addons for firefox when I try to caputre the stream or download the url it only captures downloads a few mins of the stream and then another url will show up from the site that is only a mb or 2mb and it will repeat this ad nausium for the lenth of the video so there are hundreds if not thousands of urls that are like only 30 seconds to a few mins of the film... I am wondering if there is anyway to record the stream in these cases?what I mean by getting hundreds of url's while streaming video

Aug 20, 2015I was told by the Windows 10 update tool that my video card was not supported and therefore couldn't update to Windows 10. I did a little research and found a relatively cheap card from Maplin that was compatible with 10. I've installed it all OK but the update tool still refers to my old card - the date of the update tool is from yesterday - can I get the update tool to run again or will it do it automatically?

Apps :: Audio But No Video When Playing DVD
Sep 4, 2015I recently updated to windows 10 and haven't had too many problems, although my Toshiba video player gives me audio but not video when playing dvds. This isn't usually a problem for me unless I'm somewhere that doesn't give me internet access, that's when I'll put on a dvd. My question is how do you fix this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. The only other thing I can think of is to go back to windows 8, but I don't really want to do that just yet.

Windows Continues To Load Just No Video
Sep 14, 2015After upgrading to W10 from W8.1 (which went trouble free) when my laptop is powered completely off and I turn on the laptop, after the Acer splash screen the video stops working. Windows continues to load just no video.
IF I go into the bios during startup and just exit out of it, W10 starts normally, with video. It will also reboot with no problem, no video loss, only when the laptop is powered completely off.
I tried going to the Acer web site and downloading their W10 drivers, made no difference. I installed the latest bios.

BSOD :: Caused By Video / Audio?
Dec 13, 2015I have a BSOD issue that only tends to happen when I'm playing a video. This happened quite frequently when watching youtube videos before the upgrade from 8, but after the upgrade it has slowed down some and wasn't really bothering me. Here lately I have been using an emulator to play FFVIII and periodically it will BSOD which is very annoying because sometimes you can go hours before seeing a save point. When attempting to debug the crash dump files it just tells me that I do not have the correct symbols. I'm not an idiot by any means, but there aren't a ton of useful documents out there that walk you through getting the correct symbols. Every driver is as up to date as possible including the mobo and bios.
