I installed Windows 10 a couple of weeks ago without any incident. However, this week I have noticed that I am unable to play any videos in my hard drive (regardless of format or video player... tried Windows Media Player, VLC, the photos app) or online (like in youtube or facebook). When playing videos on my hard drive, the video player is blank and doesn't play (although VLC shows the filename and the track length just fine). When playing videos through a browser (I use Chrome) the page simply crashes without playing the video.
I have also encountered a browser error where Shockwave Flash isn't responding. I have only one flash player installed so it's likely not a conflict issue on my browser.

just few days back i have installed free updates of windows 10 from windows 7.I thought i am lucky to have windows 10 for free, but now i am in problem.I am unable to play offline downloaded videos through media players. It is not playing smoothly.Videos are stopping automatically and then running by their own and sound is not matching with the videos. I have VLC,KM player,5K player;not a single player is operating . I have checked device manager and updated display adapter but problem not solved.
Specification of my PC :Intel( R) core ™2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz 900 MHz, Ram 2GB,32 bit OS,x 64 based processor,no graphics card installed.
I must mention one thing that i have no issue in playing online videos from YouTube .
I have a network drive, which I set up to save a copy of a folder for offline use using the instructions here:
Working with network files when you are offline - Windows Support
I am not able to find any option for setting the drive to work online or work offline. I did manage to set it up to work offline yesterday, but forgot how. Now, I cannot find any work online or work offline button. Is it in a different place in 10?
When i had windows 7 dvd played good an i could watch movies online now when i go to play a dvd it says missing codec. when i go to watch a movie online it says does not support that format i dont understand whats going on.
When I see video on other website not on youtube but other website, I can't download and save video. When I tap and hold the video i see save video but when i click it does not download.
Two weeks ago, I upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit from my previous Windows 7 operating system. However, since then, whenever I watch or stream videos online, be it youtube, Netflix or other internet sites, my laptop would just automatically shuts down. But when I turn it on again, It starts up alright without any problems except that it will show an error message which states that:
Runtime Error! Program: C:WINDOWSsystem32atibtmon.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Then when I start to watch a video again, it shuts down again :-(
I am not a tech wiz so I haven't done anything yet to fix it. My laptop is an HP G62 Notebook running an AMD Dual-Core processor.
I am not able to watch any YouTube videos or videos on other sites. Sound is good but screen is a wavey green colour. This wasn't an issue before I upgraded to Windows 10.
Worked fine yesterday and now today any browser that tries to load a video freezes. Any video I try to start with media player or VLC just starts to load up and stops, nothing happens. Have been searching for fixes, Cleared internet history cache, checked in control panel for video options .No clue how to try reinstalling flash to see if that is the problem because its built into windows 10.
Ever since I downloaded Windows 10 I am having nothing but trouble. I try to watch video's and they keep breaking up and run real slow, thats after it takes so long to get it up to even look at. Its telling me something about Ad block stopping it, but I tried to fix that but not sure what I did.
When I changed to Windows 10, my Cubis game will not play. Also some videos on facebook and others.I went back to the old Windows and they play. I just upgraded to Windows 10 again, and the same is happening. How can I get the game and videos to play?
I have a series of videos I want to play on my surface book. I opened the folder they were in and hit "play all". Windows movie and TV app opens the first video only. Is this a limitation or is there something wrong with my app? If this is a limitation why in the world is there a play all button for a default app that can't play all?
Or am I missing something? Just when I was excited about a successor (maybe finally a decent one) to the Media Player.... I have found no way to advance to the next video when I select 10 vids and hit play - and I do this a lot...
Yesterday my computer stopped being able to play video's, thought it was just youtube but it's every site i go to. i use google chrome but it also effects ms edge. i've reset the router, cleared cookies and cache, rebooted computer and now i'm just confused! It's windows 10 and I'm fully updated.
For some reason out of nowhere my headset will disconnect, and videos stop working . My headset just disconnects, and videos are unable to play. Also, sometimes the shortcut bar will also stop working when this happens. Windows 10 ...
