View 1 Repliesin Windows 10 10586 the Virtual Memory window is missing some part of it, check it out:
I want to turn this feature off but I can't because the button to set between the different options is not visible. This visual bug happens in all versions of Windows 10 10586, and it doesn't matter the display resolution. How to fix this visual bug or turn Virtual Memory manually?
I somehow messed up my max memory setting from 8196 to 520 in the system configuration under the 'Boot' tab. Every time I try to restart my laptop, it said bad_system_config_error. How to change back my max memory setting to default. Btw, I'm using lenovo y510p and my os is windows 10.
View 1 Repliesi've upgraded to Windows 10 (x64) from Windows 8.1.Using HP Probook 4540s..Before, i used Virtual Machine OK ( with Network: LAN, Wifi). But when Windows upgraded 10, i cannot use Network with any options.Check Device Manager - Driver Network OK.
View 1 RepliesI'm running a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. On idle, the System process is showing a high memory usage of more than 150 MB, usually more than 200 MB. Using poolmon the pooltag SpDN showed up with a memory leak. It leads to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver, iaStorV.sys. How should I go about fixing the problem?
View 1 RepliesI have an HP DV4 Laptop(i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that came with Windows 7, I recently updated to Win10. Everything seems fine except of the high CPU usage in System and Compressed memory. I narrowed it down to the Realtek Memory Card reader. I should also mention that right after the Win10 update two Realtek Memory Card Reader entries were in Device Manager with yellow exclamation icons.
I deleted them and had Windows install the drivers from Windows updates, after that everything LOOKS fine. And there's only one entry now. After a while I noticed the fan making a lot of noise, wasn't like that in Win7.Anyway, after hours of troubleshooting I eventually came back to the Realtek reader, sure enough after disabling it CPU went to normal.I have also downloaded the newest driver from realtek site.
I cant access the internet on either Chrome or Edge
looked up all fixes but nothing on Windows 10
So, wandering around in the wonderland that is The Witcher 3, my computer froze. I reset it using the reset button and got a DISK READ ERROR (ctrl+alt+del to reboot). And then I found that power cycling my SSD worked, which was nice. Upon rebooting back, Windows performed a disk check, then diagnostics, a restart, and then I got into Windows proper. Checking WhoCrashed, it gave me back BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO, and the following (large 316 MB) dmp file: [URL] ....
View 1 RepliesI used avg tuneup to check the disk for errors on next boot and my computer turned off while it was checking for errors. After this happened I can't get windows 10 to boot into login. I get a message saying it can't boot windows and I get a bad system config info error.
I am using a N5050 Inspiron Dell Laptop.I tried booting into command prompt and running the command chkdsk /f /r /x and when it finishes it says it didn't fix anything or fine any errors. Ubuntu says it has bad sectors when I tried to run a fix on the partition in gparted. I tried burning easyre windows 10 recovery disc on usb and DVD-r without any luck on ubuntu. Yes I know how to setup my computer to boot from cd/dvd or usb. I only have access to windows command prompt and ubuntu system on external usb jump drive I have no access to windows computer.
I'm running a Windows 10 Pro PC. My internet service provider is Charter Spectrum. They provide an Arris modem which only handles ethernet/phone connections (no wifi etc). My router is a Belkin F7D8302 Play N600 Wireless Dual-Band N Router. Since about 2 months ago I suddenly, and intermittently began to experience internet connectivity issues. Errors like DNS Probe Finished Bad Config started popping up for instance. The router I'm using has hardwired connections to:
-Modem
-PS4
-PS3
-PC
-SAMSUNG TV
It wirelessly handles connections through two bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz) with username and password:
-Mac
-iPhone
-Laptop (periodically)
I'm usually able to reconnect again by the following methods:
-Power cycling the Belkin Router
-If that's not enough, power cycling and going to Services on my pc and restarting the DNS Client.
Other possibly important details for my connection are that I have a VPN (PIA) which I sometimes use, although I don't always have it on, and I experience connection issues even with it off. I mention it because as I understand it, when the VPN software installs it adjusts network settings as needed. In addition to this, my university requires certain security settings for network to be active in order to access my university email account on the windows mail app (which ones I don't know) and this could also affect the network configuration. Finally, a detail I've noticed is that the 5GHz connection will usually disappear during the connectivity issue, and the 2.4GHz connection will be found, but no device can connect to it.
I can honestly say that networking is not my strong suit when it comes to PCs, so I'm not quite certain what's creating so many drops in connectivity. Multiple devices running at the same time (one wireless, one wired) MAY or MAY not lead to the connectivity issue. I haven't tested that hypothesis long enough for me to be sure. What could I try in order to troubleshoot my connectivity issues?
I was working with my computer the other day and it rebooted spontaneously. When it did I got a "Preparing Windows" or "Configuring Windows" message after I logged in and when if finished I was back at the very first Windows set up. None of my start menu adjustments were there, none of my mouse, wallpaper, etc. settings were in place, and worst of all I lost all my settings for my Firefox and Thunderbird applications which meant all of my mail history, address book, etc. btw, I wasn't connected to the internet at the time, my connection was down.
I get a message saying it can't? find a profile so it is creating a temp one which will be deleted on shutdown.
I should point out that my files are still there, except for Appdata/Roaming and I do have a back up of my data so if I can stop this reset behavior I can recover data.
Now it reconfigures at every reboot. Even after reestablishing my internet connection.
I'm receiving a BSOD with "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO" when I reboot my computer. I only noticed this since I turned on my MSI "Fast Boot," but this is a BIOS setting, so I don't know if it is related to the problem, since this error code (0x74) refers to a corrupted registry.
When I restart, I get this BSOD every time, and then it reboots into Windows after the BSOD, every time.
I ran "sfc /scannow" in an elevated command prompt, rebooted (got the BSOD again), and ran it again. Then I ran the dm_log_collector application. I attached my resulting .zip file.
First of all i was just cleaning my pc, ran a disk cleanup. I came across this program called driver booster from Clean, Optimize, Speed Up and Secure PC - Freeware Download - IObit, along with some of there other programs from it, i ran a norton scan, the driver booster, there defragging program and a full clean up program they offered. It was getting pretty late and the defrag program was on 40% and the driver booster kept prompting me to reboot after it had installed some drivers. I turned my pc off by accident and decided to go a bed. I woke up with the error bad_system_config_info, i had this problem before so didnt panic, i restarted, did startup repair which did not work, then booted up into safe mode which did not work, i tried some bootrec commands that some people over on reddit told a guy with the same error to do.
No fix, bootrec scannow and scanos did not find any windows installations which was odd and then i decided it was time to just give up and reset however it got to 30-40% and stopped, it said it could not reset and ran into a problem. I burned a windows10.iso to a disc and booted the pc with it and tried to reset with that, still stops at 30-40%. So im now here with little to no hope on getting my pc to boot and im posting this to hopefully get answers as my problem is very different from any others on reddit.
What im thinking is either it was the drivers that the program installed. The cleanup program also did a registry clean up which may have screwed things up in the BCD which ive heard is a cause of this error.
P.S i have windows 10, maker of the pc is zoostorm.
I built my very first PC in the weekend. Everything was working fine, but after a restart, I had an error message saying something along the lines of "Windows couldn't start". I then had several options where I ended up choosing something like "Start Windows from a version that worked" which erased like half of my programs and many of my drivers. I then proceeded to reset the computer entirely and restarted.
Now, the computer is working again (as it were before) and I've installed everything again, including all the drivers (I hope). However, when I restart the computer, I get a blue screen that says: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll start for you. If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO. It then restarts and works perfectly. This only happens every approx. third restart, the other times, it boots just fine.
I bought Windows 10 Home on a USB which I used to install on my new SSD. All the drivers should be up to date. What to do?

There is a feature missing with screen configuration under Windows 10 and new Amd drivers Crimson, even the last WHQL ones (15.12). The Amd setting do not have the screen configuration, no more.
The driver choose ( I guess) the screen number 1 by its connection type Hdmi vs the screen number 2 the vga one (by default the main screen, in Italian "schermo principale")
It's impossible to change that order . And it can be a problem because if the screen 1, a Panasonic plasma through its Hdmi-2 port), is turned off (not the stand-by) the screen 2 do not became the active screen and no login screen is displayed on start. Obviously when screen 1 is turned on the issue ends.
Last, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
How to confirm if win10 supports VBox? I've been having a few issues, specifically with ethernet / network drivers. First time ever tho.
View 10 RepliesI recently upgraded and now can no longer run my Windows XP on a virtual pc?
View 8 RepliesI am periodically experiencing an issue where the o button starts typing itself continuously until I either restart or lock the PC. It's not a keyboard issue, since it happens whether the keyboard is plugged in or not, even with a different keyboard.
I haven't yet found a way of triggering it, but once it starts, it happens quite often after each time I stop it.
title mentioned, BSOD while power on virtual machine. Error : Memory_management
View 5 RepliesThis seems to be a tedious process of going to the task view, then finding the window and right clicking and sending it to another desktop.
Is there something simpler? I was expecting a right click on the taskbar would give this option, but it does not. Is there a keyboard shortcut perhaps?
my virtual desktop icon missing in W10
see screen shot attached.
I can get desktops using Windows/Tab
Is it possible to have a single application, for example Outlook, appear on multiple virtual desktops? I use different desktops to separate the opened windows for multiple clients. However, something like Outlook would be applicable to all clients.
View 2 RepliesI downloaded Deus Ex Human Revolution DC, and after beating it, I wanted to go in with a trainer and commit some wanton shenanigans. I'm a simple man like that.
However, the trainer, which worked before, has suddenly refused to work by giving me the "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine." prompt.
Hyper V is already off and my Antivirus is disabled + Windows Defender. It should be working no problem. Sadly, no.
How to shut off this Virtual machine or fix the problem in some way?
So I dont currently have a USB drive, however I have the ISO files for windows 10. I want to install Windows 10 on a gaming PC im going to build in a few hours. All I got to work with is a 2-Sided USB Cable and a second laptop. Is there any way I can create say a virtual USB drive on my laptop, then mount windows 10 on it and plug that laptop into my new computer to install windows 10?
View 1 RepliesI have a couple of questions about W10:
1- How do you disable the login screen for the MS account? i went to netplwiz and disabled it but it still keeps asking for MS account password every time i open my PC.
2- Is it possible to use a virtual desktop on a 2nd monitor?
