I know how to set a wallpaper/background theme etc. I set it and it still changes whenever i open chrome or do anything. Sometimes when i restart my lock screen wallpaper is reset to a random windows one too..
Is this strange. When I change my desktop wallpaper on one PC it changes to the same picture on my second PC. and I haven't even downloaded the wallpaper on the second machine.
This issue happened after I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 on my HP computer. We also have another older Dell computer, on which this issue did not occur after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. I followed advise from an IT technician provided about this issue with Windows 8.1 including editing the registry (Internet Settings and Default Connection Settings) and have no trouble accessing the internet. However, typically after every day or every other day (at most after three days) turning my computer on after being off overnight, the internet connection settings revert back from automatically detect settings to proxy server.
I do not use a proxy server and cannot access the internet when this occurs. This keeps happening even though I go back and reedit the register. What can be done to permanently fix this problem? I am currently using Internet Explorer 11 instead of Edge until Microsoft comes out with their update in early November that allows extensions. I use Norton 360 and cannot use this program with Edge until extensions are allowed, because of security on the internet.
Since this does not happen with the Dell computer, I checked the settings mentioned by the IT Technician and found that the following Internet Settings were not present in the registry: ProxyHttp.1 (or ProxyHttp1_1) and ProxyServer. Will it harm my HP computer if I delete these two from the registry so that the Internet Settings will be the same as those on the Dell computer, which as pointed out above does not have this problem? Also, for ProxyServer the IT technician indicated that there should be no value for this in the registry.
When I go to Settings -> Personalisation -> Background and try to change my wallpaper to one of my own pictures nothing happens. When I choose one of the Windows pictures (that one of the guy running along the beach with those big rocks in the background for example) again, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is change it to another solid colour.
Bizarrely, on my wife's account (we're both Administrators) she can change the wallpaper to whatever she wants.
I was using Windows 7, and using too much wallpaper at background. In windows 7 i can set the change picture time to minimum 10 seconds. But in Windows 10 this time is minimum 1 min. This so long time for me because i want to see all my wallpapers a short time. Another problem is there is no Shuffle options. How to shuffle the wallpapers.
So there is any way too change this setting. Maybe in regedit?
I'm getting frustrated with this. No matter what I do I can't get to change the desktop wallpaper/background on windows 10. When I open a pic in ACDsee and set it as a wallpaper it doesn't change a thing. All I have is a solid color.
I have a third party wallpaper changer that I like, but when I updated to Win 10 every change comes out as centered, with a boarder. No matter how many times I change it to "fill" next changes to "centered". I have plated with the settings in the program but nothing works. The program is Wallpaper Master. if there is a way to set the fit in windows to default to fit instead of center.
Today I have suddenly lost my desktop wallpaper screen just all black accept for my few icons down the left hand side of the screen and the taskbar along the bottom. Have checked in my settings, personalization page and their all there but it will not accept any change to the screen and display it. As I am still learning to use the new windows 10, I accept that it could be my own fault while I am exploring the new systems I tried going back over all the things I have experimented with.
I upgrade to Windows 10 from 7.1 today and everything seems to be working fine, but it won't display any desktop images. Trying to select one of the images in the customization screen or another image using the search option won't result in any changes. Right clicking an image and setting it as background image doesn't work also. I checked the Ease of Access options and it is set to display Windows background.
Solid color backgrounds work correctly. Slide show seems to be not available.
If you want to change the wallpaper on the new login screen of Windows 10, you can watch my tutorial. The download you need is in the video description. This works with builds 10162 and above.
The slideshow app successfully changes the background on schedule, but I can't change the folder. No matter which folder of jpg pictures I select, it always returns "Not items match your search. If I change mode to a static picture for the background, the app DOES find several available jpg pictures in whatever folder I point toward. The slideshow part of the code is apparently looking for something other than jpg pictures. Is there a way to see/modify the code that runs the app?
I'm a photographer and work mostly with black and white images. I took the jump from win7 to win10 today and in setting my wallpaper as "centered" (not fill or stretch etc) I am faced with not being able to choose an appropriate background color to go "behind" the wallpaper.
How can I get a simple black or white background color to go behind / around my wallpaper image. There are plenty reds, purples, greens and blues, but precious few neutrals.
I want to be able to select background color by RGB code or a 24-bit palette.
Upon upgrading to Windows 10, I've noticed that my lock screen image did not move across with the upgrade. Also, when I try to change the lock screen image through settings, it never shows up. It only shows the color that is set for the settings.
I would like to know if there is a way to enable rotation of the background wallpaper in win10. It was easy to enable or disable in win 7 but I don't see a button for it in win10.
I have 2 monitors in extended desktop mode and each one has a different wallpaper. I saved them as a theme but after a little while, they seem to switch witch screen they are on (monitor 1's wallpaper goes to monitor 2 and monitor 2's wallpaper goes to monitor 1). If I go back and reselect my theme, nothing happens so I have to select a different one and then reselect my theme for it to go back the way it should be. After a little while they get messed up again.
I've got a dual monitor PC running the now released windows 10. Everything about it went very smoothly, right up until I tried to change the background. At first both screens had the same image (that cool windows 10 logo with light beams picture). But of course that wasn't sufficient, so I changed it. I liked that windows 7 would rotate my wallpapers with pictures in my photo library. So I dug in and made the necessary changes, and.... then I hit an odd snag.
The two screens were showing different background pictures. At first it was cool! I was blown away. I never even thought about changing the wallpapers separately! But, I'm a creature of habit. And having that second monitor with a different wallpaper was getting on my nerves. Now, I know I can change both wallpapers to be the same picture. BUT, I'm greedy and want it all! I want it to also show the slideshow of all the photos.... one at a time, on both screens, at once.
On a side note, whenever I right click the desktop and ask windows to skip ahead to the next desktop background, it does one screen only. I have to do it again and then the other screen will change. If they HAVE to be separate, I'd at least like some control over them.
I was curious if there happened to be a location where the image that shows up on the screen where you enter your password is. Not talking about the lock screen. In Windows 7 it's located under "C:WindowsSystem32oobe", but that's not the case in Windows 10. Is there a place where this image exists? If not, it might be in one of the various MUI files...
I have a home built Desk Top Computer and when I turned it on this morning and when it finished booting I had lost a lot of my icons and what was there all moved to the left side of the screen and the wallpaper went back to the Windows 10 Default. Also the Application short cut screen that comes up when you left click on the Windows icon in the bottom left enlarged and took up half my screen. I tried to adjust it by using the mouse and dragging it but that wouldn't work either. About a month or little more ago I had upgraded from Win 7 Home Prem with no problems at all. It has been working fine until this morning. I had to go back to a restore point to correct it. My wife has a Toshiba Laptop that I upgraded about the same time and hers did the same thing except that she didn't loose her Icons or wallpaper they all just moved to the left of the screen.
As the title says, I can't set the bg image in windows 10, at first it worked perfectly but after a couple of days i cannot set a bg image, if i set any photo as the bg its just a black bg.
