Is it possible to ad a web site icon/tile to the start window.
For some reason the google web site icon is there, but I would like to add a few more of web sites I frequently visit.
The right click on a web site URL does not give the option of creating a tile/icon on the start menu.
Is it possible to change the edge icon on the tile to one from a web site such as Google or Ccleaner etc. on a small tile. Some come that way automatically, but for others one has to hover the mouse over to see the text.
View 1 RepliesMost of my pinned task bar icons that I have added are all simplified tiles with the first letter of the corresponding website.
ie: Gmail is " G", American Airlines is " A", Flyertalk is " F". Google is " G" (causing confusion with Gmail.), etc.
Is there any way to change these tiled icons to the website logo like in windows 8.1 or 7?
In Windows 8, we could pin a website to the Start Screen. I have updated to Windows 10 and cannot figure out how do so with the new OS. Am I missing something or is this not possible?

View 9 RepliesWhen I left click the start up icon I get a message: Critical Error, Start Up Window isn't functioning. Will try to fix when you re-start. The Error message prevents all other windows from opening. When I click the message, the system re-boots, but the Error continues.
If I do not left click the icon, everything works properly, and when I right click the icon, everything works too, including the shut down process, the searches, etc.
I did the upgrade and know my start window wont work I cant get to the apps or shortcut windows....

View 1 RepliesI upgraded to 10 Home yesterday and everything seemed to work fine. Today after deleting several files from my photos the system hung and I had to do a power off reboot. After that the start menu wont come up and the search window won't accept any text. Right click on the start menu does respond and seems to work properly. I also did a sys. file chk., it said that some files were corrupted and not repairable.

(i.e. Start-key + left moves the window to the left half of your screen;
Start-key + right moves the window to the right half of your screen;
Start-key + up maximizes the window to the full screen;

When I click to start some programs, I get this AFS Error Info window. After clicking OK, I then get the UAC window. Except for the extra step, nothing goes wrong--it's just annoying. Sometimes programs requiring a UAC show this AFS error, sometimes not. What this is and how to stop it?
View 9 RepliesI am really frustrated trying to install Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium in my MSI S6000 laptop. I click on the "Get Windows 10" icon and a window pops-up saying: "Your free Windows 10 upgrade is here!" I click on the button "OK Let's continue" and that is the end of it. I see the wheel rotating for an hour or two and nothing happens. Nothing gets downloaded and no other window pops up. I have pops up allowed, and everything else is at the default settings. What is wrong with y Windows 10 upgrade?
View 1 RepliesI'm having issues accessing both the Wifi Panel and the Windows Start Menu from task bar at the bottom of the home screen. When I left-click on with it does nothing. I can right-click on the icons but still unable to open either. Wifi shows a connection (Wifi icon) but still unable to connect to internet. Other items in the task bar are accessible with no problems. Unable to download/update anything because of the inability to access the internet.
View 1 RepliesOn my Desktop, whenever I go to Start > Power > Sleep , when I come back from Sleep the Start window is still open. In Windows 7 we came back to a clean desktop. It does this on 3 PCs.

View 1 RepliesLast, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
I just installed Windows 10 and its nice and all, just that the icons in the start menu and the system settings for programs are broken.

All of a sudden the battle.net, chrome and evernote lost it's icons but they still work.

View 9 RepliesI can't open the start menu and I don't know why. The only thing I can do to it is right-click, nothing else. I cannot left-click it or even use the windows button. Also, there are two of my apps - Store and Microsoft Edge - have a blank icon. I can't open them nor unpin them to the taskbar.
If you look at the taskbar the blank icons are between media player and google chrome.

When I right click, I get a menu but nothing will open. When I click in the "Search" area, no cursor appears. I don't know how to get to my pictures or documents.

Also - I use Avast security protection. Since I downloaded Windows 10, my firewall is turned off with Avast. I clicked a button to turn it on, but I am not being allowed to do so. Do I need to change something in the Windows 10 settings. First I need to learn how to pull up the settings since the start button is not working.
