When Computer Attempted To Reboot It Stuck At Start Up Screen
Sep 21, 2015
So today I tried to update to windows 10 from windows 7 through the "get windows 10" app on my desktop. Everything went well until reboots started. When my computer attempted to reboot it stuck at start up screen where you are supposed to either go to boot menu by pressing f12 or let your system boot like it should.
I upgraded to win 10 today from 7. After rebooting my screen now shows windows wallpaper (one of their scenic view wallpaper) as I had a custom picture and it displays the date and time in the left corner. See attached picture. I have no cursor and the keyboard doesn't work. The keyboard and mouse light up like their connected properly but they don't work. Ctrl Alt Del does not work.
I've plugged them into other USB ports but I get the same result. I've booted into bios and the mouse and the keyboard work there. I've rebooted dozens of times to the same result. I also downloading the media creation tool to a USB drive and tried booting from that and repairing the OS but no result...
I currently have Windows 10 and recently I've encountered some random screen noise appearing when I turn on or return from sleep mode on my computer. This does not happen every time, but It only happens every 3 days to a week. I cannot get this to repeat as this happening is random.I can only get rid of this when I force a shutdown through holding down the power button and then restarting.
I am using Nvidia driver 355.98.
Noise After some time the noise disappears and then I'm left with a black screen.
Whenever I on my computer after I wake up or come back from work, my windows sometimes do not boot up fully. it will load and then gets stuck on an empty orange screen (might be related to the fact that I have orange set as my colour theme for my windows 10). I will then hold on to the power button on my computer to force a shutdown. Right after that, I will power on again and the computer starts up fine.
This has been occurring for a while - I didn't have this issue when I first installed (upgraded from windows 8) windows 10.
I tried googling my issue, and I have turned off Fast Start-up under power options but it did not solve the problem.
I use Acer PC with specifications:-Windows 10 Pro; Pentium (R) Dual-Core; CPU E5200@2.50 GHz; Installed Ram: 5.00GB (2.97 usable); System 32-bit operating system, 64-based processor
My computer makes humming noise and then crashes with blue screen and the message Attempted execute of non execute memory.I have to restart my PC and sometimes with difficulty. I have tried to update my processor driver but no success. There may be other softwares needed to be updated. I can't set my recovery point either.
I have a issue with windows 10 taking 30+ seconds to load up. It gets stuck on welcome screen and i never used to have this issue before. Here is my logs. It used to take 2-5 sec tops.
Bootlog shows multiple times BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED SystemRootSystem32driversdxgkrnl.sys my cbs log shows CSI 00004f3d@2016/1/5:16:55:18.218 Primitive installers committed for repair
did soft reset worked but later again the same issue "loading..." did hard reset worked but later again the same issue "loading..." did hard reset twice using volume and power button worked but later the same issue"loading..."
I've been trying to update my windows 8.1 to Windows 10 for at least 10 times now and it always stuck at around 60% It reboots itself a few times and it always comes back to the circle screen with the % progress but getting around 60% it reboots and it gets stuck there... black screen, no cursor, no sound.
I've tried to plug it into a secondary screen thru hdmi but nothings happens; also I've uninstalled my antivirus since I've read it might be the problem but it didn't work..
I've got a Dell Inspiron 7537 Windows 8.1 x64 Intel Core i7, 8gb ram, Intel HD Graphics 2gb + Nvidia Geforce
So after having numerous issues with my ASUS VivoTab Smart upgrading to Windows 10 (Sound issues, display driver issues, losing my Recovery Drive, etc) I finally got everything fixed and my tablet was finally running as wonderfully as it did on Windows 8.1..... For about a week.
And then this latest build for W10 comes out. I downloaded it and then attempted to install it
The system restarts to do the update with the circular progress bar but then gets stuck at 40%. I have had this problem on three different PC's in the past and all I did was power them off, boot up again, and then it would finish off the update with no further issues.
But that didn't happen this time. I powered off my Tablet and then started it up again. Instead of carrying on, W10 decides to cancel the whole update and roll me back to am earlier version of W10.
I thought I would try again and this time wait longer. Maybe I was impatient. Went through the process again, rebooted, started the update install and then stuck at 40% yet again. I figured I would just plug my tablet in and leave it while I slept surly it would finish by the time I woke up. Nope it was still at 40%
Powered it down because I couldn't do anything else, but it decided to roll back again. What's worse is that it seemed to have rolled back to a version of W10 prior to when I got everything fixed mentioned above. So now not only am I stuck with a dud upgrade that keeps trying to install after a period of time, but I have to fix all my previous issues again. How to resolve this update freeze?
My laptop began moving incredibly slow last night, like the cursor would hardly move and it sounded like it was running extra hard. I turned it off and this morning it won't load past the start up screen. And still, the windows loading icon spins incredibly slow.
Eventually it goes to a black screen for some time, then the automatic repair icon appears, then "diagnosing your pc". It made it past that once and got to the advanced option screen but was moving so slowly that I couldn't click on anything.
I installed Windows 10 fairly quickly on my laptop, and firlgured it'd be just as painfree to do so on my desktop, but the install was stuck at 'Copying files - 48%' for hours. I figured that since it was just copying files, I would just restart the PC and start over, but now my PC does not want to output video. On startup, I don't even see the normal BIOS screen, and there is only HD activity for about a second after I power the PC back on.
I upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1 through Microsoft's updater. I used Windows 10 for web browsing and then after my use, I shut the computer down. After my first reboot, OS crashed several times and sent me to the recovery page.
Steps I took: 1. Reset system (keep files) -> Failed 2. Restore -> Failed
System reboots with a black screen and a mouse pointer. Few minutes later, I see a blue screen with a circular loading animation icon. I gave it few hours before force shutdown (I also left the system running overnight. No progress). Every single recovery option did not work, and I could not find any solutions online.
What I do have: Linux Mint (as dual boot). Can access Windows 10 drive from Mint.
It seems like the only solution I see is to clean install Windows 10 after backing up my files.
During startup automatic repair launches, restart ensues, that's the loop. The error mssg is WDF violation which it seems is related to iTunes. I just can't get out of this loop to do anything about it. I don't have a boot disc. Safe mode is what I would like, but that doesn't work.
I recently received the Windows 10 download on a desktop PC. The installation seemed to be going swimmingly however desktop suddenly powered off. Upon reboot, I'm stuck in a vicious failure loop. I tried to restore to no avail and tried to boot Windows 7 from a physical disk, but no matter what I try it appears my desktop PC is history. It ran Windows 7 just fine. I really wish I hadn't pushed my luck with Windows 10.
I downloaded Media Creation Tool 64 bit.First i clicked "Upgrade my PC now" it downloaded Windows 10 and asked me to reboot. After that blue windows 10 logo appeared I have waited like 2-3hours but nothing happened. I tried even installing through USB but same thing blue logo appears and nothing... Why can't i install Windows 10?

So, just installed Windows 10 and things seem to be doing pretty good but the computer is in bad need of a reset still. Following the recommendation of Microsoft, I've gone ahead and installed Windows 10 and am now ready to proceed. I pull up the boot menu, select reset and to remove all files and the computer boots up as normal. Then, it comes up with a screen asking if I just want to clean out my main driver or all drives. The problem is there is no mouse, I can't select it. I've hit all the keys on the keyboard I could think of (F keys, number keys, arrow keys and enter) to no avail. And thus, I had to abort and come back here. Why my mouse is not working then? It's working now so it doesn't seem to be an issue with it.
I just currently started having this issue. My computer runs completely fine. However I applied recent windows 10 upgrades and I for some reason had to restart I cant remember why. However after the initial restart the computer simply stayed on and didn't initiate boot. I then turned off the computer and turned it back on. It boots fine, no problems. However if I set the computer to restart from the start menu it will but it wont boot back. It will just stay on and make a louder fan noise but wont reboot?
There are certain sound inputs that I do not wish to use.So, I disable them. However, when I reboot my computer all of them are active again. How can I make them permanently inactive?
The store we went to sold us a computer they had on display. They didn't reset the computer and left their administrators on the computer. I've installed google chrome office 365 and downloaded documents but when it sleeps or when i've restarted the computer everything "saved" is gone. Will reverting back to a previous system as suggested here [URL]
I am having troubles downloading the win 10 upgrade from Microsoft. I have did the updates but my computer shutdown and then reboot in the middle of download. I have installed a new PSU already that seems to stabilizes win 8.1. I can't seem to get win 10 download from shutdown my pc from finishing the download.
Everytime I wake up my desktop from sleep, I get the BSOD with the message - Attempted Write To Readonly Memory, and the system restarts. I have this problem for a few months now, since I was on Windows 7. I thought the problem might go away after upgrading to Windows 10. But even after the upgrade, the issue still remains. It is pretty annoying as I can't leave my system idle for a few minutes. I'm attaching recent dumps and msinfo file ....
I occasionally (but frequently enough that it is noticeable) get an unresponsive start menu. When this happens Win+P for display switching also does not work. The start menu starts working after a reboot and only after a reboot. Obviously this gets annoying because of all the windows I have to reopen. What I've tried when the start menu stops working:
1. sfc /scannow - this doesn't show any errors 2. Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"} - the process finishes but the start menu doesn't start working anyway
I really hate restarting the PC when this happens.
