This problem prevents standard users from signing in" message in my laptop. It was updated from Windows 8 to 10 when we purchased it. At the beginning the laptop works well but now i'm having this message. I saw the a video and the GPC status is not running and in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CURRENT CONTROL/SERVICES/GPSVC in the Image Path is netsvcs instead gpsvdGroup.
The problem is that when i went to SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/SVCHOST And then to the netsvcs I did'n t have to add it because it is already there, it was not missing. I verified Dword values and all of them have the same values as recommended in the video.
Power Light Flashes But Laptop Does Not Switch On
Aug 26, 2015I upgraded my Toshiba "Satellite" laptop two weeks ago. Now when I press the power button to turn it on, the white power light flashes but nothing else happens. The laptop does not switch on. Is this a Windows 10 bug or have I a hardware problem?

May 17, 2015I recently started trying out Windows 10. It's buggy and frustrating, but it's still in preview mode, so... That's expected.
Nothing was working when I installed build 10074 off disc, so I installed build 9926 off a disc (I got the iso from MSDNAA, I'm a programming student) then upgraded via settings to 10074.
During the upgrade, my laptop started resetting, normal. But halfway through, the resets stopped working.
The screen switches off, the cd drive switches off and the hdd activity light switches off, but the power stays on, and the fan keeps running. It also doesn't switch off on shutdown either.
I finally have a working version of Windows 10, minus Cortana and Spartan (I'm in Aus), but now my laptop won't shut down.
Could it be drivers? Is it OS interference? Is there a way to fix it without uninstalling and re installing Win 10? I really cbf going through all that again....

Dec 24, 2015I convinced my friend to upgrade to windows 10 on his laptop and it failed leaving it screwed.
The laptop is based on a Clevo W350ET chassis.
When you turn it on it goes to a screen saying 'Recovery Your PC/Device needs to be repaired, A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed, Error code 0xc000000f'.
Any options like revert to a previous built, system restore or whatever do not work.
Any chance of saving the current install or will I have to reinstall everything? My friend has old programs he is concerned he cannot get anymore.

Feb 1, 2016I have an H/P Pavilion g6 lap top. Tried to upgrade to Window 10 twice today. It seems to down load fine, and starts the install phase, when it gets to the black screen where it say it will restart many times, it starts copying files. It gets to 85/87% it shuts the power off to the computer. When you push the power button, it starts up, saying it is restoring previous version of Windows (8.1). Dec 12, 2015I tried to reset my laptop. In the process of resetting it shut down due to overheating. When I turn it back on, the logo appears but no loading bar shows up. It hangs there for a few seconds and then it restarts and keeps cycling over like that. I tried to do a hard reset by taking out the battery and plug, then holding the power button for 30 seconds. I tried doing a system restore. I also tried removing the ram to see if that would work but no luck.

I have updated drivers, disabled and enabled the wireless adapter. In command prompt i type ipconfig/renew it says no operation can be performed.

Mar 20, 2016I have a Dell Latitute E5530 laptop that won't connect to my secured home SSID. I have 2 other laptops connected to it wireless, plus phones, plus 2 TV's (via a Roku and a Chromecast). I thought there might be a limit to what I can connect (i.e., 5 devices), however I brought home a 2nd laptop from work and that connected with no issue while the Dell Latitude still cannot. I don't even get the option to type in the Password Key, it simply says "Cannot connect to the network". I'm able to connect to an unsecured network with this same machine, no problem. I've tried reset the network adapter, I'm just stumped at this as to why this computer won't connect.

Feb 21, 2016Both the Windows 10 laptop and the Windows Vista laptop have discovery on and file and printer sharing on. The printer is connected to the Windows Vista laptop. The Windows Vista laptop can see the files within the Windows 10 laptop. The Windows 10 laptop can see the Windows Vista computer but as soon as it tries to see inside it gives an error about "spelling of the name, etc." If using the diagnosis tool it says "One or more network protocols are missing from this computer". "Resolving problems as administrator" does not solve anything.

Oct 20, 2015So after a stressful day at school I got home anxiously waiting to get on my computer, only to find out that after a recent update my computer has completely stopped responding. Now in the first few hours of dealing with this problem I was able to access the Windows repair options, only to find out that all of them failed. I was unable to do a system restore, nor diagnose my computer or even nuke it.
Later on things eventually got worse because now I'm not even able to access the options to fix my computer anymore or even downgrade to Windows 8.1. All that pops up after my computer starts up is "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system.

Dec 4, 2015I've had issues with my CPU and mobo, so I got new ones from a friend, but there were vital pieces missing. I rebuilt my PC with all of its original parts as best as I could, and now Windows 10 is stuck at the logo with no circle. I followed my motherboard's manual for all the plug ins and whatnot, and everything seems to be in order, however the actions of my PC don't seem to demonstrate that.

Aug 7, 2015My Windows 7 was updating to Windows 10. When it appeared to almost be done configuring a message appeared stating the Windows 10 could not be installed and it was restoring the previous version of Windows.
Well that did not work. The pc will not boot up now. Instead I get: "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows root>system32hal.dll Please reinstall a copy of the above file"
I hope I can add the file using the win7 dvd. I know I was getting low on hard drive space, but had cleared enough to have 4 gig or so free. It was either not mentioned anywhere or I missed how much hd space would be needed. Of course I am assuming that the install bombed due to this?

Sep 7, 2015I had a lot of files so I decided to reset to factory settings. Computer at 2% turned off, so I tryed to turn it on again,but windows refused to start, it turned off after the manufacturer's logo showed, so I decided to download windows 10 installer [URL] ..... and put it into my USB. I tryed to reinstall windows through usb port, but it needs to turn on the windows that can not be launched (possibly due to incomplete reset to factory settings that might have deleted important windows files). How can I re-install windows 10 without needing to access windows?
