View 1 RepliesI notice there's a new 1 pixel white border around Universal apps like Mail and OneNote. This makes it easier to see the edge of the window when it overlaps similarly colored areas. This seems to be new since the update yesterday.
View 1 RepliesHow do i organize my "All Apps" Menu. Calculator, Contact, Mail, Cortana, etc ALL of this garbage bloatware is something i just want to create a folder called Microsoft Bloat and put it in there. How do i do this?
First time around, i uninstalled all of it using power shell but i ended up needing the store and one other app but W10 went retarded and didn't allow me to reinstall the packages, so this time around. I just want to organize them into a folder that i will never touch .
i don't feel like downgrading back to 8.1 which as it stands right now was better for me when using Start8.
The universal application does not show up in windows preview 10576..Is there anyway to get that?
View 5 RepliesSince I've upgraded to Windows 10, most of the time when my Surface Pro 3 goes to sleep or stand-by, most (if not all) of the universal apps (mail, edge, etc.) freeze. When I return from sleep, their windows are all completely unresponsive, except for the minimize and close button on the top right.
View 3 RepliesI'm encountering a number of random scrolling issues within Edge and other Universal/Modern/Store apps. When scrolling a web page, the page gets "stuck" and won't move within the browser window. Edge itself remains responsive - I can reload the page, or close its tab. And other tabs remain unaffected. Also, links on the page itself still work. I can actually interact with the portion of the page that's visible, just not scroll it in any direction. Reloading the page doesn't fix it, but if I close the tab and reopen it, then load the page again, it works (happened just this morning on "Dilbert.com" when viewing one of Scott Adams' blog entries).
I've noticed this behavior in at least one other app: Readiy (an RSS reader app). In the main "All Items" view, the list of articles will often become "stuck," much like a web page in Edge. I've also noticed the behavior occurs more often when using the touchpad in the Type Cover of my Surface.I'm running the Insider Preview build 10532 on a Surface 3 (not Pro) w/4GB RAM.
I have 2 accounts on my machine. On my primary account, the Xbox app would not launch - no error given, just click and nothing happens. So I logged into Windows with my second account and the Xbox app launches with no problem. However, the Groove app won't launch under the second account, whereas it will under my primary account. I have tried the Powershell command to remove and reinstall the app and that has been 100% unsuccessful.
It appears to do nothing more than remove it from the start menu as it still says "installed" if I search for it in the Store. If I reboot, then the Store will allow me to reinstall. The same issue persists in not launching and providing no errors.
I am completely baffled as to why some apps work under one account and not the other - both accounts are admins. Is there something else I can do? I had originally upgraded from Windows 7, but after getting all kinds of BSOD errors, I did a complete wipe and fresh install. I've had these default app not launching errors - or lack of errors as none are shown - since then.
I have seen lots of people saying their Store won't launch or the Start menu doesn't work, but I have had no issues with that...
the app is not unistalling opened powershell as admin and used the code below
Get-AppxPackage *xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage
It's not unistalling
This app is part of Windows and cannot be uninstalled on a per-user basis. An administrator can attempt to remove the app from the computer using Turn Windows Features on or off
Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have lost something I used frequently, the ability to stream movies & pictures to my Xbox 360. Apparently Windows Media Center isn't supported on Win10. Looking for 3rd party apps. I downloaded and installed Plex on PC and Xbox but apparently their is a charge to stream from my pc using Plex.
View 6 RepliesWhile cleaning up my fresh install of windows 10 I deleted the xbox app (unistalled), it is available to my admin account but I would also now like it on my user account.
how I can re-install it on my user account, it is already on my computer because the admin account can access it, or will I need to download the app again? ifs so where from ?
I enjoy talking to friends through Xbox Live, but I recently sold my Xbox One for financial reasons. I have been using the Xbox App to communicate with them using Party Chat. It's fun to sometimes play soft music through the microphone just to have in the background that's routed through my computer, but there are a few issues with doing so.
Since there are no audio settings built into the Xbox App, I've had to MacGyver a solution in a way. There is an application called Voicemeeter Banana that allows you to route certain device audio into other devices, and is compatible with their VB Audio Cables, the freeware alternative to VAC. Through this I have my headphones set as my Default Communication Device and my primary cable as my Default Device. One of my two secondary cables are set as the Default and Default Communications Device for recording. In Voicemeeter I have my microphone routed to the secondary cable's input. My primary cable's output is routed to my headphones and my secondary cable's input as well.
Here's some screenshots of the setup for better clarity:
The problem here doesn't lie in Voicemeter, though. It lies in the Xbox App, as these settings work fine with Skype or just browsing and listening to videos/music. For some reason, ever since the newest update for Windows 10, when I use these audio settings the Xbox App party system does not detect any audio coming from my recording device or any of my friends' microphones. I believe it might have something to do with Exclusive Mode settings, but nothing I've tried so far has worked. So far, I've reinstalled the drivers on at least 7 different occasions, I've messed with the Audio Formats extensively, I've tried switching up the cables testing for bad drivers, and I've reinstalled the OS from scratch countless times (to 8.1 then upgrading, not straight to Windows 10).
Is there any way I can get this set up to work, or am I just asking for more than is currently possible?
I'm trying to change the location for the captures taken by the integrated capture software in the xbox app...
This is all I've found so far, and I can't click the path to change it or anything.
My main drive doesn't have too much space on it and I'd like to put it on my alternate one.
After updating to build 10041, it broke my xbox music, video and also the Netflix app. I was able to uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app which made it work again, however since xbox apps are part of the core, I can't just uninstall. Any way to delete them?
I was able to get into the windows app folder in the program files directory but still couldn't edit my permissions to allow me to delete it.
Video and music preview is launch for pc 💻 in latest tech preview is look good this apps are also available for Windows Phone
View 4 RepliesI'm officially getting the new Surface Book on Monday. All of my personal files & folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, etc.) are stored in OneDrive, so there's no problem there. However, there's one pesky app whose data I don't know how to save. The popular universal app for Windows 10, Sonic Dash, doesn't make use of cloud sync in Windows 10 (this feature is actually turned on in the iOS and Android versions of the game). This means every time you reinstall the app on any one of your Windows devices, you lose all your progress and have to restart all over again on that device. This means anyone who is getting a new device Monday will have to forfeit all their game progress, missions completed, characters unlocked, rings collected, upgrades purchased, etc. when they get their new device.
(I recently asked Windows Central users to tweet the developers Sonic Dash and ask them to enable cloud backup in Windows 10, either through OneDrive or Facebook, so that your game progress would sync across your devices. I think this is still a great idea, and ask you to tweet @HLGames if you haven't yet. However, it technically won't work in time for my switch to the Surface Book on Monday).
So, I'm wondering how I can manually save my game data and transfer it to my new Surface Book manually. Conceivably, all of the app data should be saved to my current computer somewhere, able to be transferred to a different device somehow. Any ways to preserve my game data and transfer it to my new Surface Book?
I have used the usual route to changing a default icon in "Properties" for internet shortcut(s). However, changing one file icon strangely does not change all the rest. Is this a bug? Is there a workround?
View 3 RepliesI don't really play games and recently started playing Halo on my PC. (running win10 on my mbp). Looking to get a xbox controller for PC.
Is there a different between Xbox One and Xbox 360 controllers for PC?
How do you stream a video from your win 10 pc to the xbox one? In windows 8 you could play to and then select the xbox. Is there anyway to do that in Windows 10? like play to feature in win 8
View 4 RepliesWith Windows 8, I had a bunch of different apps for videos (movies, tv, etc). I would start a video, swipe from the right, select 'device', select my Xbox One, and it would stream to the Xbox. Now I am not seeing any way to do this.
View 1 RepliesI know they got rid of Media Center but I didn't think or realize that was the same app. If that's the case, is there no way to stream media from a Windows 10 PC to an Xbox One?
View 8 RepliesI recently upgraded to windows 10, and I wanted to stream my xbox one to my windows 10 PC, I plugged in my controller, installed the drivers and everything, but when I go find the option to connect my xbox, it looks like this, there is no option on the side to connect it, URL...
View 1 RepliesI'm getting an Xbox One for Christmas. If I have the Xbox hooked up to a TV, can I still connect it to my laptop, which is across the house? If so, can my brother play the Xbox on TV while I play it on my laptop? Two games at once?!
PS: This will all happen after Windows 10 comes out.
So I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, and am trying to get the Xbox app working.
When I open it up, I am greeted with a message that says: "There's a problem with your account. To fix it, go to Xbox.com and sign in". I have a valid Microsoft account, that works fine for everything else. None the less, I go to Xbox.com in Firefox, click Sign In, and am greeted by a error screen. I find this odd, because I'm not even logged in yet (I've even wiped my cookies to be sure). It would appear that something on my system is blocking the Xbox login site system wide, hence why It wont work in the app or in a browser.
Screenshots of the errors are attached and shown bellow. I cant figure out what could be blocking it.

I'd heard a few days ago that xbox one titles would be playable on a pc running win 10..is it true? What do I have to download / install / buy to play xbox titles on my win 10 pc?
PC config - 8gb 1600mhz,i5 4440 and gtx 750 2gb oc edition
I had a question about windows 10 and the Xbox one. I heard you could steam Xbox one game's from the X1 to the PC. I was wondering could you steam Xbox one games from the PC ( using PC hardware ) and steam it to the X1 ??
View 1 RepliesI bought an XBOX One controller with cable for Windows from Amazon. When I plugged it in, I hear the new device recognition tone but nothing else. Supposedly, the correct driver is part of Windows 10 and nothing else was needed. But it has never vibrated with any game. I've tried updating the driver, even tried it on another pc with Windows 10 and no luck.
