In Windows 10, I already have folders for Music, Videos, Documents and Pictures. Why can't these folders be synced with OneDrive? It would make so much more sense. Instead I have to create separate folders in my OneDrive directory in Windows Explorer with the same names, doubling everything up.

I've only synced the one folder related to the project I'm working on this office. Would it work if I signed in on my own laptop, would that make the login session on the office computer expire? What if some other employee needs to login on this computer?
I am having a weird issue with OneDrive. I have gone thru the update and selected the folders to sync (god, I miss the place holders). Now every time I'm offline I try to access a file in those folders I get a error "File system error (-2143326205) ". I have the checked if the folders are up to date and all files are downloaded and they are. I am able to access the files if I'm online.
I should also mention that I am using a SP3 i3 and I have my OneDrive folder in on my SD card mounted into a NTFS folder on C:
Since its a windows phone using one drive how do use organize one drive do you use folders. Right now it just a long list, which I want to use it,need it to be a little easier to add things neatly. and find them.
View 2 RepliesI have a laptop and PC that both have OneDrive. When I add folders to the laptop OneDrive and switch over to my PC, the folder appears immediately. I can open it and have no problems. But when I add files to that folder or any OneDrive folder on my laptop and switch over to my PC only the folder shows up--the files are not there. If I copy an entire folder with photos to my laptop OneDrive and switch over to the PC OneDrive, only the folder appears; there are no files to view.
View 2 RepliesI actually do use OneDrive, and I am not trying to remove the app entirely. However, it seems like if I remove the OneDrive folder from my libraries (music, pictures, documents), next boot they show right back up.
This is incredibly annoying as I actually want my folders isolated... Documents is my local documents, and only the stuff I want put in the cloud is in OneDrive.

View 5 RepliesI have a laptop with about 68GB of OneDrive sync'd data. I now have a new laptop which I am setting up and it will replace my old laptop.
What is the best way to do migrate all my data to the new machine?
1) Let OneDrive automatically sync with my new PC and use 68GB of my 250GB monthly allotment?
2) I could manually move the data over - as we did in the old days - and then turn on OneDrive and "hopefully" let it sync and realize that same data is on the new laptop and not download or create other copies.

I tried with one folder and it seems to work where it did not download the folder again or create a second copy. I tried another folder and it started downloading (syncing).
Bottom line is I'd prefer to manually move all the folders and files (copy) from my old laptop to my new laptop's OneDrive but don't know how well this will play out. Nothing on Microsoft's OneDrive sit or elsewhere on this specifically that I've found.
After installing Win 10 over Win 8.1, forwarding and sending new emails elicits the message "not synced yet." How can this situation be corrected?
View 1 RepliesI've reinstalled W10 Pro x64 2 days ago and ergh.. my Microsoft Account picture just doesn't want to get synced, I checked the settings and although I didn't change anything, the pic still doesnt want to sync.
I went to Microsoft Account and edited the pic a bit, cropped it to see if it syncs this time but nope.
I have win10 running beautifully after hours of configuring on my main computer, now I want to put win10 on 2 of my 3 other computers, is there a way to sync win10 so I don't have to spend additional hours configuring the other two computers like the first one?

View 6 RepliesI have the option "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar" off.
However since the last update whenever I either copy or move a file into any folder windows puts that folder under the Recent group in the taskbar.
On Windows 7 start menu you could have a folder such as EA Games and then sub folders within. For example a folder for tiger woods golf, a folder for say Fifa and so on. It seems on Windows 10 you can only have one folder level. I have tried creating sub folders but all the shortcuts within the sub folders all appear under the one top/master folder when actually viewing the start menu. Am I correct in this observation/restriction?

By logging in locally and not with a Microsoft account, One Drive is not activated.
In previous Windows versions you could uninstall One Drive in Programs and Features, but it no longer appears?
One Drive is based in the USA and therefore not safe at all The NSA will have full access to anything and everything stored.
I use DOS (specifically the WinZip Command Line Add-On) to backup my files. Have been for years and years. I can't figure how to address OneDrive in my .bat file. Can it be done?

If you save a backup disk to OneDrive, from a non-system disk on your system, does it take up twice as much space on the PC's storage? If so, then the folders and files would be in three places. Or, is it that the files and folders are on the cloud and just the non-system disk?

As I don't like the "big brother is watching you" spect of the automatically sinc with OneDrive and as I get a "Pro" version, I don't want to use OneDrive anymore (except the pro version for some few folders).
So I started to organise my documents in the folder: C:/Users/myname/Documents
But I can't put it in the "Quick Access" as there is already the Documents which are located in C:/Users/myname/OneDrive but which is empty for me...
I also hardly find my documents when I download a document, as the OneDrive folder is "dominant".
Some screens to explain my issue...
So I would like to "replace" the "Documents" OneDrive Folder shortcut by my "true" Documents Folder.
Is it possible ?
