Feb 10, 2016I'm having a persistent problem with Google Chrome. Although Windows 10 says Chrome is the default browser, Google Chrome itself does not "believe" it, and I keep getting the "Google Chrome is not your default browser" notification when I bring up the browser.
In settings it says that Google Chrome is NOT the default browser and no matter how many times I click on the button to tell Google Chrome to make it the default browser, it just pops up the Windows 10 window that shows me that according to Windows 10, it IS the default browser. I have run a Repair Install Windows 10 With an In-place Upgrade hoping it would solve the problem, but it did not...
Apps :: Camera App Not Working And Low FPS Rate In Skype / Hangouts?
Dec 9, 2015When I open the Camera app I get "Something went wrong" 0xa00f4273 error. ... and the application crashes after that
In Skype/Hangouts the camera is working BUT the frame rates per seconds are very low - around 5. So the picture is really laggy.
My driver is: USB2.0 VGA UVC WebCam. Device manager says the driver is up-to-date. In ASUS's website there aren't any webcam drivers.
Google Will Open But No Other Browser
Aug 17, 2015I just updated from windows 7 to windows 10. The internet was working fine in 7 and now only google will open in 10. I tried explorer and chrome. Same results. I tried disabling norton virus, no change. My computer says I have internet access.

Nov 1, 2015Bottom left says search the web and windows, but it just shows replies from bing. I cant even find how to do a desktop short cut for google. Desktop shortcut used to be so easy. Oct 29, 2015I have google.com.au set as home page as I mainly start browsing with a search. I first started to have problems last night when opening a new TAB for a new search and selecting Home page rather than using the Bing search on the new TAB. As soon as I start typing the search bar jumps to the top left corner and gives you a few suggestions, but after I finish entering my search word/term and click the search icon or press enter I can see internet traffic by the light on 3g modem but the page remains blank.
This is now starting to happen on my homepage when first opening Edge. I type in my search the search bar jumps to top left corner showing a couple of suggestions, but that's as far as it will go.
It does however work normally sometimes. Last night was the first time I came across this problem and I'm sure I've done searches this way since I started using EDGE without any problems.
I had my wife try the same thing (in EDGE) with the same result, though she uses Firefox as her default browser.

Sometime if I try to type something such as typing URL, or typing something inside the text box(ex: updating status or tweeting, etc.), it won't show. It only show the flashing cursor. The only way to fix it is minimizing the whole browser and reopen it. It happens so randomly, so this annoys me.

Nov 4, 2015Each time i watch a video in Chrome the browser start to behave weird, if i am on the same tab as the video playback and i try to type a word to search or url in URL bar and press enter the browser's loading icon never stops spining and i must close that tab and create a new one and the browser becomes really slow .My theory is:
A) Internet Download Manager may cause the problem
B) Google Account Sync may slow down the browser ???

Since posting this I did read a suggestion about adding it under IMAP/POP option instead of choosing add GMAIL. I tried this but since my Gmail has secure settings the test email was blocked. There is an option in Gmail setting to make the account less secure, but I don't want to do this.

Aug 17, 2015I'm running Windows 10 and use Google Chrome browser. I have a McAfee security and I have just deactivated the firewall to see if this would resolve the problem.
My Facebook page is unresponsive and blank white. The red icin at the globe suggest I have 4 interaction, and 1 message, I click on this and nothing happens. I've turned off the system, reboot.... still no response.

I downloaded the program and have been using it since I got this computer about 5 weeks ago.
I had a shortcut on my desktop and one on my taskbar at the bottom.
I also had an app in my charm bar in the windows window in the bottom left or whatever the popup is being called now...
A couple of days ago the Chrome shortcut went from the familiar Google colors to a white, blank sheet of paper in the taskbar. I tried to reload it but I keep getting a message about an error code.
I can still search with google using the blank piece of paper looking icon in the taskbar and I get google when I cut on the computer. But I want the shortcut and the familiar looking google colors back.
I was going to delete the program and reload it but I don't want to lose all the bookmarks I have already loaded.
Browser/Email :: Firefox Rendering Of Certain Google Maps Data Messed Up
Dec 13, 2015The symptoms below started in the last few days. I've also applied 1511 in the last few days. I can't say for sure whether the effect pre-dates the update or not since I hadn't used Maps much around that time.
Firefox 42.0 now shows the traffic overlay as broken pieces, and for certain broken lines like tunnels and railways it shows junk. This effect is worse with vertically-oriented lines, horizontal ones can look ok.
The image shows Edge on the left and Firefox on the right, showing the same area of Heathrow airport.
Of course this may be due to something else, but I've tried two versions of the graphic drivers (Intel 4600) with no change. I've also flushed the FF cache.

Aug 2, 2015Downloaded and installed 10 successfully, but when I try to open Chrome, I get a blank page with the spinning circle that says "loading". Tried to contact Microsoft customer support and was on hold for more than an hour.
The only reason I am able to post here is that I un-installed it and I'm back to Windows 7.
I primarily use the computer for internet access, word processing and e-mail.

Sep 14, 2015Right clicking Google Chrome on my taskbar in Windows 10 isn't showing up with any options such as Incognito mode or my recent/common tabs. I recently refreshed my PC after having issues with Windows 10, before refreshing right clicking chrome only gave me incognito, no recent tabs section. I lived with it since it didn't bother me too much but now that I've refreshed it's gotten worse by giving me less options. Right clicking chrome on my taskbar now only shows: Google Chrome, unpin, and close window. how I could fix this?

Nov 14, 2015I notice an unpleasant GUI-level change that appears after the upgrade to 1511. The issue seem to exist on all machines after 1511 upgrade.
Firstly, Google Chrome shortcut pinned to Start Menu now appears on dark gray tile, instead of the regular "color accent" tile. Is this a bug or a feature?
Secondly, an attempt to pin the Chrome-generated GMail shortcut to Start Menu immedaitely loses its dedicated icon and gets a regular Chrome icon instead. E.g. before the upgrade it was possible to pin the GMail link to the Start Menu and it would retain its GMail icon. After the upgrade it is no longer possible to keep the icon.
