I recently updated my pc to windows 10 and ever since I can't access BIOS because I have no chance to (?) I try pressing F2 and DEL multiple time when starting up but it goes straight to the Windows start up. On Win7 it showed a screen which had some information on it and said "Press F2 to enter BIOS" or something like that and only then it would go to the Windows start up.Maybe I need to re-install BIOS?

View 1 Repliesi recently bought a new laptop with windows 10 preloaded with it. i have two internet connections but it only picks up one. it doesn't even show the other one.
View 2 RepliesI recently updated my Asus N55SF laptop to Windows 10. Everything is working, but the internal speakers in the laptop are not working. However, headphones and HDMI audio is working. I've tried the newest drivers from Microsoft and from the Realtek website. What I can do here?
View 2 RepliesAbout 3 months ago, I upgraded my ASUS GL551JM Laptop to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. Now, whenever I close my laptop lid, or put my laptop to sleep using the "Zz" key on my keyboard, it restarts when I try to wake it up. All my unsaved work would be gone. I don't even get a restart prompt.
When I used to run Windows 8.1, I could just normally close the laptop lid, and open it without fearing that my laptop would restart.
ASUS N61JQ, Win 7.
I just did a fresh install of win 7 home Premium, and installed the windows updates that came up automatically. I'd like to keep this system free of bloat and I do NOT have the driver update/laptop install disc.
I have formatted the SSD twice now because (I think) I installed drivers in an improper order; I keep having different issues with unrecognized hardware or sound not working etc. This time around I have gone only with Win 7 updates and now I would like to install only what is necessary to get this back to gaming.
So what is the order I should go on? Here is the list of drivers available from ASUS: [URL] .....
So is it chipset 1st... then restart... then GFX drivers+restart then... etc. Just getting this machine to work properly again
I have a very annoying problem with my laptop (asus G751-JT) where if I click sleep on start menu, press the on button(not hold just press so it goes to sleep),or even close the lid,it will automatically shut down.
View 1 RepliesI have an asus laptop. When I go into settings touchpad is disabled so i enable it, however every time I start my computer I have to enable it again .i have reverted back to 8.1.
View 1 RepliesSince I upgraded from Win8.1 to 10 I had a few BSOD problems, first one was power related but If I keep my laptop plugged to ac it doesn't occures so I tryied to make a clean win10 installation and now it is even worse! Each time I try to run Photoshop CC it gives me back BSOD Kernel Security Check Failure.

I am using build 10130 NL, today I got update to build 10240. After the update I have the problem "Missing operating system" . I am using a ASUS X77J series laptop with SSD drive.
View 9 RepliesI got a Asus ux501vw laptop a couple of months ago and have been having an issue with the screen not be able to turn back on after it turns off.
I'm running Windows 10 x64. The issues happens in any resolution (it's a 4k screen but usually I run 1080p for better software compatability).
This happens when it goes into power saving mode or I use fn7. I can't get the screen back on unless I close the laptop lid and sign back in again. When it happens I can sometimes change the brightness and I can hear notification noises which suggest the laptop is running fine without the screen being on.
Steps I have tried with no result:
- rolling back gpu driver to version thathat came with laptop
- updating bios and chipset (recommended by asus)
- resetting the power management settings
Some weird findings:
- in safety mode there is no issue (though when the screen shuts off I can see the backlight is on full which is different to normal boot)
- If there is a second monitor plugged in the issue goes away (in either extend or duplicate)
- if there is no second monitor plugged in and I hit f7 the screen won't turn back on. As soon as I plug in the second monitor the screen comes back on.
What could be causing this? Is there some monitoring program I should use to find out what is happening when the screen is supposed to be back on but it's not?
I have an ASUS laptop X751L.
Yesterday the USB ports and wifi stopped working within a couple hours of each other.
When plugging in a USB device the laptop makes an audible signal that it picks it up but nothing happens after that.
I have Windows 10 installed on it.
I have a laptop Asus n550jk cn015h with the original windows 8.1 license. I passed to windows 10 few weeks ago and I tried to completely reset it to fix some problems I had. I used the windows 10 reset function and there wasn't anything plugged. It took a couple of hours then it just turn off.when I tried to turn it on it appeared the blue screen page with inaccessible boot device but the laptop is not restarting as I learnt from people having the same problem,it just says that it's gonna restart but it turns off. Every time I try to restart the laptop it always appears the blue screen page and it turns off after a few seconds.
View 1 RepliesThe other day, I tried to do a factory reset on my laptop, but it failed, and I could only click cancel. Now, when I booted up my computer, it goes to the ASUS logo, then a black screen, still backlit, with an underscore flashing in the upper left corner of the screen. I can access the BIOS, and have been trying to do boot overrides. I don't have the ASUS Recovery partition installed on the laptop, and I don't have any possible ways to install an ISO. T
View 2 RepliesI encountered this issue recently, and it's caused me a fair bit of frustration. I keep searching for solutions but it seems nobody has any. What I can do to restore Windows 7 (preferably with my files intact) or at the very least finish the upgrade to Windows 10?
View 2 RepliesAfter upgrading to windows 10 my laptop is started heating up and slowed down. I noticed in task manager there is an application named 'IAStoreDataSvc (32 bit)', its using about 30% CPU.
And when I end this app, my laptop behaves normal (no heatup, no slow down). What is this application is for?
I have a dell insperation and after having upgraded to windows 10, I came across a few issues. The update when well and windows 10 is working on my laptop, however, I have an issue where I am presented with a black screen when i start my computer. I do see a dell screen and a windows boot screen before it goes black so i know the issue is not a hardware issue, however after the windows boot screen passes (the one with the blueish window icon) the screen goes to black, but it is still on (meaning the monitor is still turned on just not displaying anything). The reason i know that windows installed fine is that external monitors do work, just not my laptop monitor. I have already reinstalled windows 10 and have made sure all my drivers are up to date. Windows 10 is just not recognizing my laptops screen as a usable monitor.
View 9 RepliesI recently upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 64 bit and shortly after it was completed, everything was working fine until the screen suddenly went black. The computer was still running but I could not see anything on the screen to restart the computer so I closed the laptop so that it would shut off to sleep. Coincidentally a power outage happend lasting for about an hr after. When I am finally able to boot up the computer, it show the ASUS splash screen and the windows logo with the loading spin cycle but then shows a black screen after. My guess is that the OS may have been corrupted or something so that I plan on backing up my hard drive before going to a tech shop. I'm not sure what the issue is but it seems like I may have to reinstall the operating system. i have an ASUS N61J. I can't boot into bios or safe mode and can't get passed the black screen to log into my user account.
View 1 RepliesThe mousepad on my laptop is not working now that I have updated to windows 10. I have reinstalled the correct drivers from advent and gone through the mouse settings but nothing is working. The laptop is an advent monza s200
View 3 RepliesSince installing windows10 I am unable to scroll up and down using the mouse pad of my sony vaio laptop.
View 2 RepliesThere is no sound output in my sony vaio laptop after upgrading to windows 10.
View 7 RepliesI recently started trying out Windows 10. It's buggy and frustrating, but it's still in preview mode, so... That's expected.
Nothing was working when I installed build 10074 off disc, so I installed build 9926 off a disc (I got the iso from MSDNAA, I'm a programming student) then upgraded via settings to 10074.
During the upgrade, my laptop started resetting, normal. But halfway through, the resets stopped working.
The screen switches off, the cd drive switches off and the hdd activity light switches off, but the power stays on, and the fan keeps running. It also doesn't switch off on shutdown either.
I finally have a working version of Windows 10, minus Cortana and Spartan (I'm in Aus), but now my laptop won't shut down.
Could it be drivers? Is it OS interference? Is there a way to fix it without uninstalling and re installing Win 10? I really cbf going through all that again....
Since installing Windows 10, I am having a lot of trouble clicking on areas and loading menu options using my mousepad. For example;
- When I go into the start menu, if I go to click on the Power option, it will not load the menu where I can choose to restart, shut down, etc. The menu will flash up for not even half a second and disappear.
- Another example: when signing up for an account on this website, I was prompted to select a photo from a group of photos for validity but when I clicked on a photo it would not acknowledge this. I was also unable to use the mousepad to click on the tick option to confirm I agree to the terms and conditions etc.The mousepad worked fine before I updated to Windows 10.
Lost audio on HP DV6700 laptop since upgrading to Windows 10. Ihave removed sound device from device manager and reinstalled, have replaced driver with previously saved W7 driver....still nothing, not even the windows system sounds, critical battery etc.... All seems eps ok except this.....saw a post that says the sound is integrated with the graphic card, but the graphic card now has a windows 10 driver from nvidea.....maybe should downgrade GPU with W7 driver...
Just tried the idea of setting frequency to 16bit 9600 but I received no sound output error box....then went to enhancements settings where it has bass etc etc settings, was disabled so enabled it without choosing any option..then went back to frequency and changed it to default, which is 24 bit 19200....then was told not supported by this device but then miraculously it worked....now have all sound restored windows music everything...not sure if still have windows 7 driver...it is MS 2008... really scared to update the driver as it is all now working....not sure how I fixed it though, was it one particular action ? or a combination...?
after upgrading to the windows 10 OS, I could not get my HDMI port to work. It does not get recognized at all and is very frustrating. I run the OS on my laptop which is a HP Pavilion. I really need it to be working. I love windows 10 but this is a big problem.
