Why Do Movies And TV Apps Only Play Sound But No Picture On Laptop
Jul 9, 2015When I play movies on my tablet it's all OK. But, when I do the same thing on my lap top I only get sound.

Oct 19, 2015After a successful upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I discovered that YouTube would not play. Fixed the video problem by running in compatibility mode .. BUT then noticed there was no sound from either speakers or headphones on my laptop. No Windows sounds, iTunes, nothing worked. Could this be a setting inadvertently turned "off' somewhere ? Up until I got YouTube working the sound was fine with Windows 10. I just don't know where to look to rectify this. Rebooting etc doesn't make any difference. I don't suspect a hardware fault, it must be an OS corruption or something.

Apps :: Playing MKV Files Using Native Movies
Aug 18, 2015I just noticed 2 major problems with playing MKV files using the native Movies & TV app in Windows 10 Pro x64 that I'm running.
1. I'm not sure if Windows 10 fully supports MKV files yet but audio from some MKV files couldn't be played with the Movies & TV app. The video plays fine but it's just muted.
2. Enabling subtitles using the built-in feature of the Movies & TV App causes a horrible lag and stutter of the whole MKV video.

I have downloaded a Wav file (thefreesite.com), added this file in a sound scheme (mail notification), tested it, saved it as modified scheme, but the sound doesn't play at all (when mail arrives). And when I play audio file using Groove Music. Can't play. We can' find an audio device for your PC Make sure headphones aor speakers are connected. For more infor search your PC for "Manage audio device".

I could send and receive files to and fro via Bluetooth and the phone also gets connected/paired without any issues, but the music playing option is not happening. Aug 6, 2015As a keen flickr member I have a lot of photographs on my computer. These are all neatly allocated to different files, depending upon a variety of variables. So far....all is well.
Yesterday my neighbour kindly upgraded me to Windows 10. Everything seemed fine.
Today I tried to take 4 photographs off my camera and load them up to my computer. Initially I got a dialogue box asking me what I would like to do in future when I plugged in my camera - I said "upload the pix to my computer".
Previously they have always arrived on my desktop in a separate file. I would then edit them, afterwards splitting them up into different files, depending on what I want to do with them.
Anyway, this morning, after taken 4 photographs, I plugged in my camera. I then get a message saying "We found 880 photos. Would you like to import them into your picture folder". And the only alternatives given were IMPORT or CANCEL.
I do NOT want all my pix jumbled together in a picture folder. I want them all neatly organized into the folders I have set up.
Is there any way I can get rid of this 'Picture folder' and go back to using my existing folders (they are all still there, and all still containing the photographs they should rightfully contain.)
Apps :: Picture Import From SD Not Working?
Jul 31, 2015When I plug in an SD card from my camera I get a window titled COLLECTION, with a pop-up saying "Is this the right device? We couldn't find anything to import on this device."
I can of course browse to the SD card, but I quite liked the import feature.
[Later] If I change the AutoPlay default to use Windows Live Photo Gallery rather than Pictures, it seems to work, but I don't really like WLPG.
