View 1 RepliesSince doing a refresh of Windows 10 some of my menus or whatever are messed up. It is hard to explain and I searched but since I don't know what it is called I will post a screenshot.
As you can see the tabs on the top are not flat and look like they did from Windows 2000. I can't seem to get them flat. I tried changing themes and I even created a new profile but they are still messed up.
In Google Chrome, I can right-click a favourites folder and open all links in separate tabs. Can't find a feature like this in Edge - am I missing it? or just not there yet?
View 1 RepliesSince last week i'm noticing, that live tiles, app list and description of Edge tabs are getting grey or so dark that they are unreadable (only tabs).
All this is happening randomly and it is changing with every tab opened, changed or even with start menu showed up.
Here is picture of what i meant...only calendar tile stay in normal accent color, the rest is darker.
Btw all the apps are starting/working normally.
I have a Surface Pro 3, updated for Windows 10.
I have been switching in and out of tablet mode, and I find myself at a point where now my task bar are not working.
For example, when I click on the "Action Center" nothing pops up, or when I click on the WiFi icon, or Volume icon. My start button on my screen, and the physical one on the tablet itself are not working either.
I am trying to get off of tablet mode, but I can't access the Action Center do be able to get off of it.
Just installed Windows 10 about a month or two ago, and ever since I upgraded (from Windows 7), whenever a program enters full-screen mode (a game for example), the monitor cycles its power off and back on for a quick second, which causes it to display its "power-on" logo on the screen (in this case, the Acer logo), and wait a few seconds before it goes back to the correct display.
I watched lately when it started doing this, and the blue light that shows monitor power actually flicks off for a quick second, and then comes back on. I've never seen it do this before, but it's like maybe Windows 10 is changing the monitor display output to some insane resolution maybe, and causing it to power itself off for a second? Or it's turning the output off for a second?
How do I turn off the mouse auto click when it hovers over a link in a web page. I downloaded the windows 10 and it has started doing this. I can't find a thing anywhere about this issue. I have an Asus laptop and a Toshiba laptop and they are both doing this since getting the windows 10. I spend more time going back to my original page than I get to read the original page! Try shopping and reading a description. Taking a test online was challenging to say the least.
View 9 RepliesFirefox has an extension that allows a translation of a web page. Does Edge have a way to do this?
View 1 RepliesI usually watch movies and series' on my computer before sleeping, so after the film finishes it goes to sleep mode. But recently it doesn't. For at least a week now my computer is not going automatically to sleep mode. However I can set it manually, so it should work. I took some screenshots of my running programs in the background, maybe you can guess which can cause problems.
uTorrent is not a problem, because I switched off disabling sleep mode and it has worked for 1 month with that setup. I think it started after I installed my first Origin game with Origin client, but I'm really not sure, and it's not running, so it can't cause it.
My system language is Hungarian but perhaps you can see something from the names of the running applications.

What i am trying to do is; like in IE, Firefox, Chrome etc. i want to change the new tab page behaviour to homepage. I created a page which supports me at home and work, especially a person who really dislike the favorites tab and found my solution in custom homepage (new tab page).
I know that, right now we can't edit the new tab page in Edge (to change into a custom one). There are 3 options to choose. But instead of this, maybe i can edit the registry input and change the blank page into my local page.
Obviously I can't click on anything or type anything because the loop is constant. I've been reading forums etc for the past couple of days for a fix for this Automatic Repair loop..nothing that would work and I notice many others the past year also never found a solution.
I burned on a dvd a Windows 10 bootup thing- as suggested by someone. That doesn't stop the loop either- and yes, I did get to the page via F12 that allows to change it to boot from the DVD etc.
Here is my scenario. I am on a single monitor. I have a hockey game on full screen. Can I work on a web page overlayed the full screen hockey game? or any program for that matter?
View 1 RepliesDefault web page zoom in the Edge browser suddenly became 250% instead of 200% which was perfectly fine for my Surface pro 3. All web pages look overzoomed now, can't use browser normally this way, so every time I follow a link or open a site I have to go to the menu and change the zoom back to 200%. And I didn't find a setting anywhere to set the default zoom of the browser.
IE displays page with 200% zoom still (which is my Windows display scaling) and works fine.
I have a feeling that that change happened after the last system update.
I'm finding the taskbar to be useful in desktop mode (where I tend to be using more apps), but to be a waste of space in tablet mode (where I want a full-screen experience). Is there any way to set the taskbar to auto-hide only in tablet mode?
View 9 RepliesFor a while I had a new feature in the Edge browser ---- previews of new pages / tabs. It has disappeared. how do I get it back?
View 7 RepliesInstalled windows 10 today. Edge browser worked for a time but now presents a blank white page. Fortunately Google Chrome still works. I keep getting screens which say Windows Shell Experience Host along the top over a blank window. I have installed Classic Shell, but these problems occurred before that.
View 1 RepliesHow to turn on the automatic desktop/tablet mode switching?
I run W10, the official release, on a Surface Pro 3 with a keyboard cover. Up to now, when I detach the keyboard I get asked if I want to switch to tablet mode, and when I attach the keyboard desktop mode has been automatically restored. I really like how W10 separates the two modes, instead off like W8/8.1 trying to be in both modes simultaneously.
But suddenly this does not happen. When the keyboard is detached, I do not get any question about enabling tablet mode and the Surface stays in desktop mode. If I manually switch to tablet mode, when I attach the keyboard the machine stays in tablet mode until manually disable it.
I have not changed any settings related to this, not deliberately at least.
I have looked at the tutorial on tablet mode in this forum, but it says nothing about automatic switching. I have checked the available settings but cannot see that there is any setting determining automatic mode switch, other than the "Always/never ask me before switching" (which is set to always).
I just upgraded windows 8.1 to windows 10, everything works fine, except monitor does not go to standby by after 15 minutes of idle. I checked power settings, change it, back, forward, nothing, same thing.

View 14 RepliesIf I launch edge it's just displaying the search bar and top visited sites. The news feed / articles are missing in action. Maybe an issue MS side (at least I hope and that it's not my machine). Everything else works fine apart from this so I guess it's more an MS problem than mine
View 6 RepliesThe upper right profile picture on the default Startup Page of Microsoft Edge doesn't update. It keeps displaying the first profile picture I used when I installed Windows 10.Maybe it's a detail for most of the people but being a nitpicker, and not being given any option to modify it directly (and it should be tied to the Microsoft Account. All my other (tied to Microsoft account) profile pictures, on my phone (Nokia 1020/909) as well as on the online Microsoft services and Windows 10 update correctly, almost instantly, but not this one.
By the way, any valid link to download the WinDbg tool for Windows 10 (not the 8.1 one)? The official one doesn't work. Had found one that was working but I can't find it again. Got some random BSOD, probably tied to (a)faulty RAM stick(s), but I need to do further investigations, and the system restore deleted the tool installation.
Trying to rely on using Edge over IE.
Download a file and then I click on the section to 'open folder'.
The Downloads folder opens, but just stays at the bottom, it doesn't pop up.
The file I just downloaded is there somewhere, but it isn't highlighted like it used to be in IE.
Is it in the settings to fix this by any chance?
On the new Edge browser how in the world do you clear select autocomplete entries?
I can highlight them with the arrow keys but have now clue how to delete individual autocomplete entries.
I know that you can clear all under the settings but I only want to delete certain ones.
I just upgraded from windows 7 to 10 and when using Edge the airplane mode keeps going on. I put it to off in network and airplane mode then it goes to the internet but as soon as I do anything airplane mode comes back on keeping me from getting on internet. Cannot even get any updates
View 1 RepliesI have certain sites I use at work and I can't scroll the page or edit fields on it, once I open in IE (which is set to compatibility mode it works.
View 3 RepliesIs there a way to disable this? Recording history in an "InPrivate" window seems like a contradiction in terms, no?
