View 3 RepliesI've got some new photos in my laptop recently and yesterday I was able to open any of them. I did it for the entire day. From this morning I suddenly can't open any photo. When I click on one of them it says ''the wait operation timed out'' after 10 seconds. I really need to open some photos. What can I do and why did this happen ? Also I can't open any music files as well.
View 1 RepliesI am having a strange problem with Photos app on my windows 10. Let's say I click the Photos app icon, nothing happens, doesn't even through any error.
View 1 RepliesI backup photos from my phone to Google Photos which then automatically syncs them to my hard drive to a folder in Google Drive. The folder containing these images in Google Drive has been included in the Pictures library, but the Photos app doesn't see them and says "No readable photos, videos or folders found." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Photos app. The pictures show up fine in Windows Photo Gallery. Does the Photos app has always ignored images in Google Drive or is this a recent development?
View 5 RepliesWhen you choose photos and select 'open with' it gives a selection of apps. In the list I see the apps but one that looks odd is labelled %1 and has a generic app icon. It's almost as if it's some kind of old or broken program that doesn't exist. All the other programs like paint and photos are in the list as they should be but this is a rogue one.
View 9 RepliesI use hotmail, but somehow it says sent from windows 10 mail and I suddenly cannot open photos sent to me...
View 1 RepliesI installed Windows 10 yesterday. Now I am unable to open any of my photos. I receive an error "invalid value to registry".
View 1 RepliesBut 2-3 times a day Minecraft for windows 10, the photos application and the Xbox live application will open all at once. I don't know what causes this and haven't seen any similar issues anywhere else.
View 2 RepliesI installed windows 10 about a week back and although its been having a lot of freezes, its otherwise run pretty smoothly, except for today. I haven't had this issue before today but now whenever I go to open a photo using the normal windows photo app i get an error saying "the remote procedure call failed" and it won't open.
View 10 RepliesThis issue started yesterday. Just downloaded W/10 3-4 weeks ago. When I open an email, say with an attachment or an Ad from a supplier, a box appears in red with letters and "code" type numbers/info saying session timed out
Did not have issue with 8.1 or previous W/7 Home Premium.
When I open an image on my windows 10 PC it fails to open in the photos app and force closes the app and shows the message "file system error (-2145042388)". Some other apps like Adobe Reader touch, Mail & Calendar, Calculator and many more are also not opening. When I connect the PC to Internet it works and all apps open but with a delay.
View 3 RepliesAlthough it shows the images, windows can not open images on my laptop.

View 1 RepliesWhen I try and open my store in windows 10 it will just pop up really quick then go away. And when I try and open any of my apps it tells me that they can't be opened and to go to the App Store to fix but I can't open the app store. I have tried every fix out there that I could find and no luck.
View 1 RepliesI have installed mcafee. The windows button wont open making microsoft edge unusable and a few other things, like the search bar unusable. Any fix for this other than refreshing or resetting or changing or removing any files?? When I right click it a gray menu pops up but if I give it a normal click i get a loading wheel then nothing.
View 1 RepliesI have a desktop running with a few apps 24/7 feeding to a network, on the rare occasion it drops or restarts due to some update or power outage I thought I could write a simple batchfile just to restart everything automatically.
Problem is 1 app refuses to start, the app itself is in c:program files (x86) and that seems to be the issue. Error message I get is "cannot find c:program"
path for the app is...
C:Program Files (x86)COAAPlanePlotterPlanePlotter.exe
the other 2 apps open fine (but they are not pathed to (x86). am I going daft or missed something simple?
(Win 10 64 bit all updted)
CyberLink Power Director doesn't open and it says I need to update to a newer version but I don't want to update I just need to open the program to get saved projects. I find out that I can't restore my system back to Windows 7 because I'm over the 30 day period. I would have never updated knowing that windows 10 was going to make me update all my programs. I need to know how I can get it to work or go back to windows 7.
View 6 RepliesIn Windows 8 simply double clicking an application would open it but after upgrading it to Windows 10, the application doesn't start up unfolds it's opened from the right clicked menu.
View 3 RepliesEdge on rare occasions does not open? I have it pinned to the taskbar and on very, very rare instances nothing opens. It's a very easy remedy, either reboot or quicker still if I go into taskmanager and kill the edge process. Then if I click on the pinned taskbar for edge it opens just fine and happy browsing.
I must re-iterate replicating the issue is tough because it is quite rare. Happened yesterday and before that a couple weeks ago. So I'm thinking it's just an 'Edge' thing that happens from time to time.
My start menu doesn't work. clicking on task bar items does not work. (wifi, notifications) opening apps doesn't work. WIN + I or trying to open update from Win + R doesn't work (message "the app didn't open"). Clicking the search doesn't work. Clicking the windows (to the right of search) works.
View 8 RepliesJust noticed that clicking on this option doesn't open it in file explorer like it does on my Windows 7 machine. I can browse my FTP drive fine from within internet explorer 11. It's not a major issue as I can type the address in file explorer and get it that way. It's just a little frustrating this option doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesFor example when I try to open a .dll file nothing happens. When I right click it, the first option in bold, the default option, is open with. So when i double click that's what I should see, the open with dialogue. What happens is, the window in which the file is located just hangs no matter what i click on it. If I click anywhere outside the window it gets fixed and works normally again, but I still can't get to the open with dialogue because every time I try the same thing happens.
It's also the same if I get to it by right clicking and then selecting it, or if I go to properties to try to choose a default program.
What it feels like is that the dialogue does "open" but it's invisible and doesn't respond to me, since if i click anywhere outside the window that summoned it everything goes back to normal. I'd rather not have to reinstall windows for this.
The windows 10 Mail tile on Start Up when first upgraded open fine and it found my account and synced . A few days later , clicking on it, it moves but doesn't open? How do I open it? Or reset it?
View 1 RepliesI am stuck on 91% for Win10. What do I do?
View 13 RepliesMy windows 10 store doesn't open. When I click it, the blue screen comes up meaning its loading but it closes while loading. I had restarted my laptop and it continues to happen.
View 6 RepliesFor two years I have had three hard drives installed. One small one went bad and at bootup I would get that information with "Press F1 to resume" which I would do and then windows would load. I upgraded to windows 10 from 7 three weeks ago, same message, and no problem, as it would still go right into windows. Last week I noticed windows update had a list of important updates. I believe I also had an nvideo GeForce driver update which I am sure I did first without problems.
When I did the windows updates and had to restart, I noticed I had a slightly different look but it still took me to the same press F1 to resume. However, the result was it went to a totally black screen with a tiny band of the new windows blue across the top and in the middle of the screen it said WAIT, not in windows type but in the same script when you first begin booting computer. It just remained there and there was no activity taking place, no blinking red light or solid red light like my computer always does. After at least 20 minutes of no activity I rebooted with the same result. Repeating the F1 kept giving the same result, and further reboots and then the F1 caused the computer to reboot maybe 2 out of 5 tries instead of directly going to the black screen. At one point I quickly saw something where I believe it askd to press tab or possibly delete and then gave an option to press F1 or F2. I am not sure which I pressed but it did go into windows and everything was fine for the rest of the day. I let my computer on but at some point overnight it had rebooted and back to the press F1 to resume which results in back to the black screen WAIT and this is where I am at again (I am using a different computer to send this).
