View 1 RepliesJust unboxed my computer from CyberpowerPC, GTX 720 graphics card, installed/updated all drivers with drivereasy (paid for just now) and I am still having the issue with HDMI port not working. I have tried to plug into a monitor and a TV, neither are working, I have also tried to use multiple HDMI cables, still does not work. My monitor has an auto-switch source availability and turned on, when I plug my computer into the monitor with HDMI it continually cycles, finds no signal and goes into sleep mode. Then rinse/repeats until I either turn off the computer, monitor or just unplug the monitor from the computer. Currently I am using a DVI(computer) to HDMI (tv) and its working fine. So I know its the port on the computer. Do I need to contact CyberpowerPC to send the computer back to get this issue resolved?
View 7 RepliesI just upgraded my computer to Windows 10 from Windows 8. With Windows 8, my laptop would display a lock screen everytime I turn the computer on, whether it was from sleep or from being shut down. However, immediately after upgrading, my laptop began to skip the lock screen step. Is there a way to turn it back on?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to get to my toolbars in IE 10 and when I press alt nothing happens I can't find the toolbar to add my favorites bar. It is already checked in settings.
View 1 Repliesafter upgrade to 10 my dvd-rom doesn't show i get the message.Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
View 5 RepliesIs it possible to configure an application so it doesn't appear in the task bar?
View 9 RepliesWhenever I want to search for a specific program it doesn't show anything. For example if I search 'Steam' a program that exist in the OS, it will find nothing.
I also noticed that it doesn't search files that aren't inside the OS drive. (A song on another HDD)
left click on Start Menu doesn't respond, search doesn't respond, can't find settings!
View 1 RepliesI leave my pc running most of the day and it locks either manually (windows key + L) or locks through screensaver. After 10 mins the screen is set to turn off.
Sometimes when I move the mouse or tap the keyboard to wake the monitor it comes up with the logon screen but the password box is black rather than white which is ready to type in the password.
Nothing else works other than pressing the button on the pc to restart.
When I want to send a mail to a known person It doesn't show me the email contact when I type name or even his email address. The search contact only works If I have sent someone a mail only from the Windows 10 mail app otherwise it doesn't show the contact which I might have save or synced when I have used it on web and also on windows 8.1 mail app. Why my contacts can't be displayed when I type on Windows 10 mail app.
View 6 RepliesI'm having with my cd/dvd drive. Since downloading Windows 10 the drive hasn't been working and doesn't show up in This PC. When I put a disk in it it Just spins around for a few seconds then stops. The odd thing is that the drive is recognized by Device Manager which says its working OK.
View 13 RepliesJust installed Windows 10 on my primary laptop and the lock screen is a solid blue (if I change my theme color, the lock screen changes too). However, I have Windows Spotlight turned on. I've tried setting a static picture or slideshow as the background. I also confirmed that the files needed for Windows Spotlight are indeed downloaded onto my computer. It just refuses to change. It's worth noting that on my secondary computer with Windows Insider builds, I have, and have been having, the same problem.
View 9 RepliesSince upgrading to Win10 I've noticed as in the title, my action centre won't play any sounds or toast banner notify me at all. When I get an email in gmail, I'll see the icon in the taskbar go white, but absolutely no sounds or anything.
I've checked the settings and they're turned on, so I'm at a loss at what could cause it. Quiet hours are off as well.
This morning I downloaded windows 10. Installed and all that only to find that I couldn't connect to the Internet. I have a belkin USB adapter that allows me to connect wirelessly. The PC didn't recognize it and would not connect. So I connect my dvd drive again so I could reinstall the driver. Now the PC doesn't even show my dvd drive. So I cannot install the software and the it won't connect through Ethernet. I went to the store hoping to find a PCI express card so I could just slap it in and be connected. Walmart didn't carry the item so found this usb to Ethernet thing.
View 1 RepliesI have two drives, an SSD (with Windows on) and a hard drive (with all my files on).
When using the start menu to search for something, it will only show results that are on my SSD. This is annoying as the majority of the things I'm looking for when searching are on my HDD, so I have to open explorer and go through all my documents trying to find the single file I'm looking for.
I was previously advised to change my indexing options. I've changed my indexing options to include my hard drive when searching, but it has still not changed.
Here's what my indexing options look like .....
I just received my MSI laptop with Windows 10 and I'm still feeling around on how to use the new OS (upgraded from Windows 7). I plugged in my ext. HDD and something popped up asking something along the lines of "What do you want to do with this?". I was like "Okay, everything's going fine so far."
The problem came when I wanted to eject my HDD though. I couldn't find the icon in the little notifications area with the arrow. I couldn't eject the HDD from "This PC" either. In the end, I just unplugged it, since there wasn't anything too important on it.
I've tried enabling "Quick Removal" in the device manager, but that checkbox doesn't even show up. Instead, it's replaced with the "Write-caching policy" options. I've also tried turning the notifications on in the taskbar, but that doesn't work either. I turned on task manager, safely eject..., and location, but none of them show up. I've restarted my computer as well.
After the System Reset for Windows 10 on my Laptop, it is not displaying webpages correctly on Internet Explorer 11. Below is the screenshot.
View 9 RepliesAlso, icon thumbnails wont show up in folders, only on desktop when refreshed.
View 1 RepliesSo, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesSo I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was using it and shut down my computer. Now my computer turns on but won't load anything. It shows the windows loading screen for about 5 seconds and then goes blank and sits that way till I turn it off and restart.
View 1 RepliesI will be keeping the wireless turned off most of the time on my desktop, as I use it for live pro audio. Is there a registry hack to put the switch in there, even if the computer is not a laptop???
View 9 RepliesI click the windows10 icon and option comes; shut down. I press that one and I see stars going round the circle but computer doesn't shut down.
Overnight it remained same. Next morning, I had to shut down manually.
I have 7 or 8 computers around the house, most dual boot Windows 10 pro x64 and Linux. When you shutdown a Windows machine and start a Linux machine there are errors and Linux won't boot (The HDD's weren't shutdown properly ~ the OS's have there own SSD's && share a data drive, this is the drive that registers the error). You have to boot windows and shutdown from a cmd 'shutdown.exe /s /t 0' or similar. Is there a way to set windows to actually shutdown with the standard gui shutdown routine?
View 3 RepliesI've been running Windows 10 since it was released and nothing really has come up as a problem until last night, I was playing a game on the pc and I got some red dots everywhere, I figured nvidia crashed and thought nothing of it until my entire pc reset now I see a series of white dots on bios loadup and windows loads and just before it gets to the login, my computer resets. When it tries to get into repair mode I don't have any keyboard or mouse input, this is a build I made so I don't have any fancy oem recovery options ( and I was too dumb to make a backup disk).
My build has an nvidia gtx590 , and phenom II black edition, Asus mobo. I haven't d.l or installed any new hardware or software recently.
I just currently started having this issue. My computer runs completely fine. However I applied recent windows 10 upgrades and I for some reason had to restart I cant remember why. However after the initial restart the computer simply stayed on and didn't initiate boot. I then turned off the computer and turned it back on. It boots fine, no problems. However if I set the computer to restart from the start menu it will but it wont boot back. It will just stay on and make a louder fan noise but wont reboot?
