Feb 10, 2016I backup photos from my phone to Google Photos which then automatically syncs them to my hard drive to a folder in Google Drive. The folder containing these images in Google Drive has been included in the Pictures library, but the Photos app doesn't see them and says "No readable photos, videos or folders found." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Photos app. The pictures show up fine in Windows Photo Gallery. Does the Photos app has always ignored images in Google Drive or is this a recent development?

Jan 25, 2016All the app icons have disappeared from my desktop, as well as task bar and file Explorer. Where the icon should be is just a blank (but clickable) space.
I tried to manually alter the app icon by right clicking and going into properties, but no properties will open!

I get the same message regardless of whether it's a new photo I've just uploaded or photos that have been on my PC for a long time.

PC Is Lagging When Open Images Folder / Drive
Oct 15, 2015I am having some problems with Windows10 Pro. I have downloaed it from a website and upgraded from windows 7 ultimate.
PC is lagging. When I open a Images Folder/Drive It become very slow. It takes too much to open a file or folder.
And, Im unable to copy anything. It is showing obytes/s or sometimes only some bites like 27, 333, something.

Oct 7, 2015In the previous versions of Windows it was possible to select multiple pictures in a folder and when I hit enter, it opened a single instance of Photo Viewer. Then I could go left or right and it only showed me the pictures I selected. In Windows 10 however, selecting multiple pictures and hitting enter opens up multiple instances of Photo Viewer.

Dec 22, 2015Before reverting Lumia 640 back to WP8.1 and Lumia Camera, I was being bugged by Windows Camera Living Images (shortly LI). It seemed that camera took just still images. I don't like a camera I can't trust.
Today I took some LI with 8.1. Lumia Camera is faithful to the setting and takes video clip every time. But how to view them on W10 PC? No way. So I opened one succesfull W10M LI (visible in W10 PC and phone) in order to duplicate the structure with 8.1 LI files, but the container is more than just simple zip, maybe a JPG with zip content added into it.
Then I noticed that failed W10M LIs from last Saturday (nice christmas lights in a shopping center with "dropping" lights) also had correct LI naming and they were the right size (around 3.5-4MB when still image is <2MB). I unzipped content and - living.jpg and living.mp4 were there. One image can be found at onedrive for those who are interested.I have also some other pictures with LI naming but the size is too small and no zip content in them.
How is it possible that LI images are created by the camera but neither phone nor PC are capable to show them?Is there a way to create W10-supported LI from WP8.1 LI files? App or batch file? Creating zip file and appending it to jpeg file does not seem to work...

Dec 8, 2015I have a desktop running with a few apps 24/7 feeding to a network, on the rare occasion it drops or restarts due to some update or power outage I thought I could write a simple batchfile just to restart everything automatically.
Problem is 1 app refuses to start, the app itself is in c:program files (x86) and that seems to be the issue. Error message I get is "cannot find c:program"

the other 2 apps open fine (but they are not pathed to (x86). am I going daft or missed something simple?

CyberLink Power Director Doesn't Open?
Oct 2, 2015CyberLink Power Director doesn't open and it says I need to update to a newer version but I don't want to update I just need to open the program to get saved projects. I find out that I can't restore my system back to Windows 7 because I'm over the 30 day period. I would have never updated knowing that windows 10 was going to make me update all my programs. I need to know how I can get it to work or go back to windows 7.

Dec 10, 2015Edge on rare occasions does not open? I have it pinned to the taskbar and on very, very rare instances nothing opens. It's a very easy remedy, either reboot or quicker still if I go into taskmanager and kill the edge process. Then if I click on the pinned taskbar for edge it opens just fine and happy browsing.
I must re-iterate replicating the issue is tough because it is quite rare. Happened yesterday and before that a couple weeks ago. So I'm thinking it's just an 'Edge' thing that happens from time to time.

Feb 27, 2016For example when I try to open a .dll file nothing happens. When I right click it, the first option in bold, the default option, is open with. So when i double click that's what I should see, the open with dialogue. What happens is, the window in which the file is located just hangs no matter what i click on it. If I click anywhere outside the window it gets fixed and works normally again, but I still can't get to the open with dialogue because every time I try the same thing happens.
It's also the same if I get to it by right clicking and then selecting it, or if I go to properties to try to choose a default program.
What it feels like is that the dialogue does "open" but it's invisible and doesn't respond to me, since if i click anywhere outside the window that summoned it everything goes back to normal. I'd rather not have to reinstall windows for this.

Aug 25, 2015Updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 two weeks ago.
Had problems with Firefox. Tried to download to replace existing Firefox. CNET site appeared to be correct but something seemed wrong so I killed the download. But.
- The windows start menu doesn't come up when I click on the icon, but if I right-click, a text menu does appear and lets me, for example, shut down.
.- If I click on the Windows End icon in the task bar, the screen flashes but End does not come up. Ditto for the Windows Store icon.
- Somewhere SpyBot S&D was erased, but I was able to download it.
- If I double-click on a photo in Windows Explorer, I get a popup that lists the name of the jpeg and says Invalid Entry to Registry. If I right click on the photo and go to any of the options the photo is opened except if I choose Photo.
- Firefox cannot properly display the Yahoo mail page, though Pale Moon and Opera can.
- I have Avast Anti-Virus and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and when I run their scans, they find no issues.
How To Capture RAW (DNG) Images
Jul 14, 2015I'm using Insider Preview 10166 on my Lumia 1020 and just noticed something. Default camera app does not capture raw and there is no Lumia Camera app in the store. In older versions of Insider Preview I could download Lumia Camera, but now it's not available. Is there any way to capture raw? It's the reason why I got L1020 in the first place, are they going to remove it?

When I click Rotate Left or Rotate Right nothing happens. I need to rotate many images before I upload them to Amazon.com, where they cannot be rotated. By the way, if I need to go into Windows Live or the Edit, where you use the paint brushes and such, (No longer have the original MS installation disc.)
