View 1 RepliesLost audio on HP DV6700 laptop since upgrading to Windows 10. Ihave removed sound device from device manager and reinstalled, have replaced driver with previously saved W7 driver....still nothing, not even the windows system sounds, critical battery etc.... All seems eps ok except this.....saw a post that says the sound is integrated with the graphic card, but the graphic card now has a windows 10 driver from nvidea.....maybe should downgrade GPU with W7 driver...
Just tried the idea of setting frequency to 16bit 9600 but I received no sound output error box....then went to enhancements settings where it has bass etc etc settings, was disabled so enabled it without choosing any option..then went back to frequency and changed it to default, which is 24 bit 19200....then was told not supported by this device but then miraculously it worked....now have all sound restored windows music everything...not sure if still have windows 7 driver...it is MS 2008... really scared to update the driver as it is all now working....not sure how I fixed it though, was it one particular action ? or a combination...?
Since I upgrade to Windows 10 (coming from 8.1) in my friend's Dell Optiplex 3011 All-In-One computer, with built-in speakers, the audio has been disabled, and I see the Windows speaker icon is with an "x". In Windows 8.1, the audio was working normally, so it's not a hardware issue.
However, if I plug in an earphone, the audio output is enabled and the Windows speaker icon changes to normal one. I installed the latest version of Realtek HD Audio driver (R2.79), and restarted, but the audio continues disabled unless an earphone is connected.
I first upgraded to Windows 10 and installed the Realtek audio drivers. Then, I performed did a clean install and installed the Realtek audio driver again, but audio is still disabled. When I open the Realtek Audio Manager in Control Panel, only the microphone tab appears. When I plug an earphone, the speaker/earphone tab is visible as it should be, disappearing after I unplug it.
I reinstalled Windows 8.1 in his system hoping to have audio working again, but the problem persists. I've tried installing the Realtek HD Audio driver from Dell supporte page for my product (entering the service tag to be 100% sure), but no luck. Windows troubleshooting is useless as usual, only asking me to plug in an earphone, like I didn't know it. I even upgraded Dell BIOS/UEFI firmware to latest version (A07), but it didn't fix anything.

My PC is the HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J120DX with Beats Audio quad speakers and two subwoofers. After running a clean installation of Windows 10, my volume icon had an error "no audio device output" / IDT High Definition Audio Codec. The troubleshooting option did nothing. I uninstalled my audio device, and restarted my pc. My sound is back, but it seems that the middle speakers are the only ones working. My volume icon and sound device now is labeled "High Definition Audio Device" which now sounds substandard, just like those cheap tinny speakers you can find at the dollar store. How to recover my original great-sounding original speakers!
View 4 Repliesever since I got windows 10 my maxx audio doesn't work and now just says "MaxxAudio processes internal speakers output only"
View 1 RepliesI don't know if this started since Windows 10, but I use headphones for PC sound and if I go outside to smoke a cigarette or something I take my headphones with me so I can listen to music from my phone. When I come back and replug my headphones into my PC, audio no longer works in games, FL studio, YouTube videos, etc. Until I restart the entire program. Systemsounds work fine after replugging but audio in anything other than Windows don't
View 1 RepliesI upgraded last night from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro.I am connecting from work with RDP to my home PC. RDP is Working, but there is no Audio. This is an existing connection that worked yesterday when both PC had Windows 7 on them.I have checked group policy on the server and it allows audio redirection. On client it is setup to bring audio to remote pc as it has always been. Client is with updated rdp client to allow protocol 8.1 with remotefx.I don't have another pc with Windows 10 to check if this is some incompatibility between Windows 7 as a client and Windows 10 as host. I did install the official Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Android on my phone and tried with it, but the result is the same.
View 1 RepliesI held off to upgrade to Windows 10 until I thought it was safe. My motherboard manufacture said it was Window 10 ready, so I upgraded over the weekend. Now I have no audio. This is bad, because this is our media center for our house hold. As a quick fix I purchased a replacement sound card that has Windows 10 x64 drivers on their website. I installed it today, installed the newest drivers, and still no audio. I hooked multiple speakers to it and no sound. I hooked the speakers to my TV and play a regular show, and there is no problem there. Just no audio from my computer. The additional sound card I just put on to try to get Audio working is an Asus Xonar DGX PCIE 5.1 Audio card.

View 1 RepliesI have a Dell XPS 8100 desk top. I use a Logitech web cam with mic for face chat and skype. Will this set up work with Cortana, as far as speaking to and getting answers from her?
View 1 RepliesI have just updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my laptop and everything works fine except for videos. When I try to watch a video on Windows Media Player, I get a black screen but the audio of the video works fine. I have been using the VLC player without problems. YouTube videos for Microsoft Edge didn't work until I switched to use software rendering instead of GPU rendering. If I try to use the Film & TV for my videos, I get an error 0xc00d11cd (0x80004005) and to visit Xbox support. In the Xbox App, when I try to watch a friends video, it says the video could not be decoded. When I try to stream my Xbox, I get a black screen but the audio of my Xbox works with what I am doing on my Xbox controller. So the streaming works, but no video. i have tried everything.

after installation of windows 10, my laptops audio jack is not working. No sound is coming in headphones.
View 1 RepliesI noticed the sound was off on my task bar (just installed Windows 10), anyway when I went to the control panel it said there was no audio device installed. So how do I go about installing it? I googled but all the advice was for older editions of Windows
View 1 RepliesCan stream audio over USB on windows 10 mobile? I want to get an external DAC and feed audio into over USB... (not mass storage mode though) just want to check if it might work.

Microphone is disabled, there is no mic
Shadowplay's volume is too quiet. Is it because I'm using sound card?
OBS Studio and turning up the game capture server in the Windows volume mixer solved my issues respectively
I am using windows 10 on an asus g750 laptop, with realtek audio manager. I use headphones and have to keep my volume levels around 4-10. Otherwise they are to loud and hurt my ears. At roughly 20 you can hear the audio clearly from 6 inches to a foot away. Is there any way to re-balance my audio? or set a new maximum? or should i try to uninstall realtek?
View 1 RepliesI've spent a large amount of time on my laptop, and I have to say I love it. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem with the audio that I haven't been able to locate anywhere else. My friends and coworkers both are unable to explain what the issue is (I work for an IT branch in a computing company).
My problem is that the system audio seems to boost to unreasonable levels. However, after I even so much as press the volume keys on my laptop, the audio updates as if it didn't realize it was playing on such a loud level, returning it to approximately the same listening volume it should have been on.
This happens every single time there is nothing being output to my headphones. (I should mention - the aforementioned problem only happens with my audio jack.?This is most prominent when I'm watching youtube videos. when a video ends, in the time it takes to select another, it jumps and I have to either toggle my mute key or do volume+- to return it to normal levels.

Windows 10's GameDVR looks very promising, and other than this issue I've been having, works really well.
For some reason, it is not recording any audio at all. I'd like to to record both in-game audio as well as my microphone, but it only records the video. I have audio recording enabled.
I have upgraded to windows 10 about a week ago but everytime I turn my pc on, it says HVECK is not supported by this OS. My audio driver is VIA High Definition Audio driver. It seems like they dont have an updated driver for windows 10. What do I do? Can I change to Realtek instead of VIA? I mean is that possible to use a different audio driver? Like, uninstall VIA completely and install Realtek?
View 4 RepliesI recently updated to windows 10 and haven't had too many problems, although my Toshiba video player gives me audio but not video when playing dvds. This isn't usually a problem for me unless I'm somewhere that doesn't give me internet access, that's when I'll put on a dvd. My question is how do you fix this? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. The only other thing I can think of is to go back to windows 8, but I don't really want to do that just yet.
View 6 RepliesI'm using a Surface Pro 2. After my upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I'm not getting any audio out from the DisplayPort. I use DisplayPort to HDMI to a receiver. I've upgraded to the latest RealTek audio drivers, but it's not working. Could there be a different driver issue at play?
View 4 RepliesI just switch from windows 8.1 to 10 and now I get the audio "beep" when I am using my touchpad. When the mouse moves and it lags an audio beep sounds. Turning off the audio stops the sound and when playing a video, the audio from the video is not affected. Was not happening when I was on Windows 8.1.
View 1 RepliesI have a BSOD issue that only tends to happen when I'm playing a video. This happened quite frequently when watching youtube videos before the upgrade from 8, but after the upgrade it has slowed down some and wasn't really bothering me. Here lately I have been using an emulator to play FFVIII and periodically it will BSOD which is very annoying because sometimes you can go hours before seeing a save point. When attempting to debug the crash dump files it just tells me that I do not have the correct symbols. I'm not an idiot by any means, but there aren't a ton of useful documents out there that walk you through getting the correct symbols. Every driver is as up to date as possible including the mobo and bios.
