Jan 25, 2016Somewhat unusual situation here. A machine running the latest build (11102) got badly infected by malware. It was such a major attack that I was about to reload the earlier day's image from my Windows Home Server. But it seemed even easier to revert to the previous build, not yet removed from the Windows.old folder. This I did, and everything soon was running fine as expected.
The issue is that the Updates check is not offering Build 11102 again. This isn't a showstopper; I'm sure there will be another newer build soon. But it would be nice to be back up on this latest build, just as all my other Win10 machines are running.

Jul 4, 2015Right, so I've got a laptop that I'm currently trying to install windows 10 tp onto. It's the exact same model as the one I'm running on (it's my brothers, and I'm trying to fix it for him), but I've hit a snag.
The insider program website says that you can burn the .iso to a dvd and install it like that, but I've done that, and the laptop just stalls at a windows logo screen.
There's no operating system currently installed -- all 900 someodd GB are free and, using a windows 8 install disk to access a command prompt, DISKPART says the partition is healthy. I've cleaned and formatted it several times now to no avail.
Can't Right-click On Network Adapters Nor Get Into Properties Since Latest Build
Jul 10, 2015Ever since upgrading to the latest build, I have been unable to bridge/ unbridge my connection, nor get into Properties for any selected network adapters. What happens is if right-click on the adapter the task bar goes blank for a brief bit, refreshes, then the control panel/ network and sharing window closes.

Feb 10, 2016I updated a W10 OS and I'm seeing something i've never seen before. The Notification Area shows left and right arrows to scroll, and a large blank area in the right corner. This is a W10 Insider Preview fast ring OS, updated to the latest offered. It's a bare metal install, not a VM, version info is in the screen print.
Has seen these arrows with the latest Fast Ring OS ? I like to see all icons in the Notification Area, all the time. I've checked my settings, and i think they are right for me, and have always worked before this "fast ring version update".

Latest Build - File Explorer Not Showing Progress When Copy Files

Dec 10, 2015I just had to re-install W10 using the latest build offered by the Microsoft Setup Tool because W10 on one machine became corrupted somewhere along the multiple update path! No problems, except it seems that a few of the default settings are a little different than they were in previous downloads. Most are for the better. But...I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the display of all the disk drives in the Navigation Pane of File Explorer. I have five other systems that have migrated successfully along the update path and they don't look like the screen shot attached. What or where is the setting to turn off the display of the disk drives when the "This PC" is collapsed.

Jun 16, 2015I've been trying to update to the latest build for some time now, I'm currently on 9926. The update downloads fine and it also goes through the process of installation fine, up until it's time to restart the computer for the final step, that's where the problem begins. It gets stuck on a boot up loop, it loads to the windows logo and says preparing automatic repair and restarts the computer again and again with the "preparing automatic repair" message. I made an installation disc for 9926 so that's how I'm able to reset the computer but I've also made one for the latest build but I still get the same boot up loop problem. I really want to be on the latest build and I'm worried that I won't even be able to install the official release.

Jul 31, 2015I have recently upgraded my HP G62-b32sa laptop from Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 10. I have set up two Outlook email accounts in the Windows 10 Mail app. In emails on both accounts, I receive the following error message in any area where an image should be:
"The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location."
This is accompanied with a small red cross in the upper left corner.
To rectify this I have reset Windows 10, but the problem still persists. I also notice online that this issue has been persistent with Office Outlook 2010, but trying solutions (such as deleting Temp folder) do not work in Windows 10 Mail.
EDIT: I created a new local user account, and set up my email in the Mail app. Surprisingly, the pictures work! So now the question is, why are the pictures not showing up in my user account?
Drivers/Hardware :: Computer Freezing - Linked To Sound
Dec 7, 2015For a while now, I have had problems with Windows 10 every now and then where all of a sudden my computer will freeze for seemingly no reason.
Previously I posted this forum thinking it was my NVIDIA divers (because I didn't actually need them). BUT, today my computer froze again, and I have noticed something odd but common with all the times it has frozen. Allow me to explain:
I was on Facebook today searching through as you do, and my small (not smart) phone started ringing. As always, my acer speakers pick up this signal for some reason and start buzzing. I turn my speakers off and answer my phone, walking away from the computer. After about 5 mins, I come back to find my computer frozen.
This interaction with speakers seems to be common in the freezing of my computer. I can recall other times answering a call and coming back to find my computer frozen. Also, if I am watching a youtube video, and my computer freezes whilst the speakers are on, the speakers will make a loud noise (this hasn't happened so recently, can't quite remember noise to describe).
This MIGHT be the cause, however, this is still unknown, if even linked! This sound problem may even be linked with my previous NVIDIA problems (which I thought were causing this freezing) as on previous thread.
Accounts :: Linked PC To Outlook Account And Now Login Password Changed
Apr 14, 2016New to PCs in general. Bit of back info - built a PC a month ago. Have had a few set backs with drivers and BIOS update, but it seems everything is stable for now.
I signed into my Xbox Live account about a week ago, which is linked to my hotmail/outlook account Ive had for ages. This automatically linked to my PC user account I have on this PC. I found out by rebooting, login screen shows my name as usual, but now underneath shows my email. It also changed my login password to my outlook password. Is this something to be concerned about? I can still login fine, but been nagging me because Ive never had a login password automatically switch on me before.
Updates :: Cannot Find Newest Build After Rolling Back To Previous Build
Jan 29, 2016So, recently (after the November build release) I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update. After which, it seemed, my home network was thrown out of wack. I immediately rolled/reverted/recovered to previous build. But now everything is out of wack. Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing.
And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all. Most of the time It gets stuck in the "restart" progress animates (the rotating circles) and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower, with great regret and dread. Transferring files from one windows 10 device to another is a 50/50 hit or miss. I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was.
But now, not only is my wifi home network out of wack, but my computer itself is wonky. I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems. But anytime I check for updates, the newest build no longer shows up.
All Accounts Removed And Now Can't Log In
Sep 6, 2015I have removed all my accounts using "netplwiz" option. Now my user name stayes on when I turn on my computer but no password is correct. I can't log in on my computer. I changed my password on live.com but eaven that doesn't work.

Dec 15, 2015Windows 10 notification indicted that CPU ID and CPU Z were removed during the upgrade. However when I click on their short cut icons on my desktop , both of the programs seem to work . I can't find the programs in Windows explorer . They are also not listed in any of the uninstallers. So I am puzzled whether the programs are actually still in the system and working . I have not looked into the registry yet. Are these programs supported by windows 10 ?

I just built a new PC and need an OS. I use Windows 7 presently on my old pc and am happy Windows 7. I don't care for Win 8.1 and Windows 7 retail is difficult to find. So Windows 10 was my next option unless any of the mentioned concerns have "yes" attached to them.
Why Is Media Center Waking Computer If It Was Removed
Aug 30, 2015Still trying to figure out what it is that keeps waking up my computer from sleep.
I looked in the event logs and found this:

Wake Source: Timer - Windows will execute 'NT TASKMicrosoftWindowsMedia Centermcupdate_scheduled' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.
What I don't understand is why is mcupdate waking the computer if Media Center was removed from Windows 10.
But more importantly how do I stop this from happening?

First of all
I got error 0x800072efe
Looked all over the Internet. Finally fixed it.
Then started getting error 0x80070005. And no matter what it couldn't be fixed. So I decided to uninstall Store using 10AppsManager and I also deleted all Microsoft.WindowsStore packagefamily folders.
I tried every solution available on Internet but none worked. This was one of them Restore and reinstall Windows Store in Windows 10 after removing with PowerShell.
I don't want to do a system rest as it'll result in losing all my programs I had installed since Windows 8. Never did a reset.
