Why Is Wireless Network Slowing Down After Upgrading
Nov 1, 2015
I have two 2008 Mac Pro computers running a bootcamp setup (OSX El Capitan/Windows) and have a 50 Mbps cable connection with Linksys WRT 1900AC wireless router. The wireless throughput on both machines worked flawlessly in Windows 7 but after upgrading both to Windows 10 the throughput dropped from 50 Mbps down to apprx 1.5 Mbps. Both computers use a Broadcom 5200 series 80211n chipset which are running the Microsoft signed version 5.100.245.200 driver. The wired network runs at full speed, and in OSX both wired and wireless connections run at full speed. I've seen a number of others report the same issue, but have never seen a fix that seems to work. I've tried updating the driver through Windows but get a OS message stating that the best driver is already installed. At the moment I have Ethernet cables strung across the living room floor, and would like to get back to wireless.

After upgrading to windows 10 my laptop is started heating up and slowed down. I noticed in task manager there is an application named 'IAStoreDataSvc (32 bit)', its using about 30% CPU.
And when I end this app, my laptop behaves normal (no heatup, no slow down). What is this application is for?

My Dell laptop which is windows 10 only has a chronic problem with the adapter constantly needing to be reset. Searching for similar problems led me to the possibility of a USB adapter.

I started my PC in a new premises with a Wireless modem, I have two other PC's connected.
When I started the PC it saw the wireless network and the option came up to connect and there was a tick in the "Connect Automatically" box.
I selected OK but got a message "unable to connect".
I did not get the opportunity to enter the Password/Key.
Now the PC will not connect to the Network nor will and Diagnose and repair fix anything.
BTW the Ethernet adaptor has been disabled.
The laptop I am sending this from is next to the PC so the wireless signal is okay.

I have two wireless networks at home, and one is faster than the other. This is because the slower one is wired to my desktop, and the modem and router are the same box. So I would like to remove the slower from machines wireless connected. I searched the forum, and got a solution, the command below, but the answer, as can be read, is that the filter does not exist in the system. I am attaching a screen that shows GVT-15DF at the list of connections.
C:Userslarau>netsh wlan delete filter permission=allow ssid="GVT-15DF" networktype=infrastructure O filtro nao existe no sistema.

So after 2 failed attempts at installing Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire Z5801 PC, I finally managed to succeed. However, a new problem appeared after installation. The Wireless network adapter went completely missing. Windows does not detect its existence at all, it's like the PC doesn't have one installed. It doesn't appear in Device manager + isn't listed as an "unknown device". It's simply not there at all.The wired network adapter is there, but not wireless.
Installing the driver from Acer's website - I had to select Windows 7 64-bit as the version is all that's available for my adapter.I used a USB stick to transfer the setup files to the Acer PC. It said it successfully installed but still didn't appear, even after a reboot.Used a USB wireless adapter (Netgear) to see if it was an issue with how Windows 10 handles Wi-Fi - nope, that installed and worked fine.Scanning for Windows updates after using the USB adapter. Some updates were found and installed (no driver ones though), but still no Wi-Fi.
In the end, I reverted back to Windows 7 and what do you know? The adapter got recognised again. The USB adapter isn't a viable solution since it's required by another PC. I just used it for testing purposes.

I recently brought a new wireless network adapter for usb (Asus usb N14) and since I've started using it the connection is really unstable, I'm on the same connection on my iphone and it's just fine but on my pc it's really struggling, I've ran speed tests and it'll work fine when randomly it'll just go down, I'll still be connected to the router but have no internet. Right now looking at the wifi graph in task manager it literally going straight up for a few seconds then straight back to 0 when downloading a file, and I'm unable to download any large files because it'll just fail after about 30 seconds.
I've updated it to the latest version with no change in performance or reliability. One other thing I'm at Uni so other people will be using the connection and I've no access to the router unfortunately.

I have a laptop that is directly connected to a wired WAN internet connection and I share the Internet connection with other devices using the netsh command prompt. Is there any way to see who are connected and more importantly, how much bandwidth each device is using?

I upgraded a workstation to Win 10 Pro. The system, System X, has two admin users, A and B. A is logged on to System X. Volume C is shared from the root on System X, and all admins on the system have permissions to Share C with full control. B is logged on to another system, System Y (Win 8.1). B can access (read) almost all folders on System X from System Y, but cannot write to the folders as he did in the past. I included a screenshot of the sharing options, which are the same for all networks, though Network Discovery is off.

Over the past couple of weeks I have experienced a general slowing down of software initiation. Programs that used to be up and running in a few seconds are now taking 20 or 25 seconds to get running. I even see delays in how Firefox operated. I see nothing in the Task Manager that waves any flags.
I have the system from a month ago on a spare SSD and booted from that. Everything is fine and runs as expected. Soon as I put he updated SSD in place and boot it - the slowdowns are back. Could this be a product of a questionable update? Other than normal daily usage, no changes have been made to the machine.

Normally my WiFi connection is like 40-50 Mb/s, but it slows down to, like, 10 Mb/s or so with BT on. That maybe does not sound bad, but often websites are taking ages to load. I switched my router to 802.11n; even if that worked, the improvement is hardly noticeable.
What is best is that it is not always the case, sometimes the Internet speed is just fine.
I cannot download the drivers for Windows 10 from the HP website (they are not there), although they were available.
Can the Internet speed be amended with some Windows setting change?

Time to time happens that my whole windows( and everything else that could) slows down and any kind of tasks are very painful to complete. Even writing becomes very laggy.
Usually I'm in the middle of gaming and have a lot of apps opened.I try finishing what's unfinished and close everything(usually at this step I restart my computer). By checking task manager I can see memory used at 99%. Last time I was curios how slow can everything finally turn(since it slowed even more down with time) and after about 15 mins cpu usage hopped to 100%. Then both my screens turned black(only mouse cursor didn't disappear) and I had to hard shut down my computer by the physical button. So far the only solution to this has been restarting the computer.

I have win 10 64-bit home on a 4th gen core -i5 laptop. I have a WDC 1T 2.5" USB3 drive. It is about half full. It used to do 60-70MB/s write speed. Since a few days ago, I noticed it has slowed down by a factor of 5-6 to 10-20MB/s. While copying large files, I watched what's going go. The System and compressed memory process was doing a lot of read and write on the disk. If the copy speed reported by the dialog is say 15MB/s, then system compressed memory process is reading 15MB/s and writing 30MB/s. It looks like this process is reading back the content written and writes back. It is consistent over reboot with several large files from 200MB to 7GB in size.
A couple of weeks ago I did a file backup. I created a 5GB virtual drive on my SSD and dumped all files to be backed up. Took only 5 minutes to copy the 5GB files to the virtual drive and copy the file to the WDC disk, at around 67MB/s, typical of this type of portable drives. While I was wondering what was going on, I tested the same files with a USB3 dock and a 2TB Seagate drive. Write speed is about 150MB/s. So I thought it was not a problem with all disks. The WDC drive has no compress to save space option, BTW. I wonder what's going on. I have AVG antivirus and I turned it off while copying and same slow 15MB/s speed.

Error code 0x80070035
I have two computers that I'm trying to get to communicate with each other so I can move files back and forth between them. My plan is to make one of them the home's backup and main storage system. the problem is that I can only seem to get one of them to actually communicate equally. Computer 1 is a factory Lenovo Intel i3 computer. Computer 2 is a home made AMD that I just built a few weeks ago.
Both are running Win 10 Pro.
Both are physically attached to the router. Heck, they're physically stacked on each other on my desk....
Using File Explorer, on the left side Panel under Network, it shows both computers: AMD and Lenovo.
Computer 1(factory) is able to the files on Computer 2 easily by going over through File Explorer. But, if I click on one of the files, I get the message that I DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION. If I try to cut/Paste files from Computer 1 to computer 2, I get the same message.
Computer 2. I am also able to see the computer listed under Network in the left panel. When I click on Computer 1 to access it, I get a Network Error Windows cannot access Lenovo (Computer1) Error code 0x80070035
I've tried the Diagnose option and it doesn't work.
If I click on a Drive under Network on the very computer, I can see the drives, I can see the directory list. If I click on a file, I get the error. Example on the left side panel on my AMD computer I select:
>AMD
>C:
>PerfLogs
It's at this point that I get the error: Windows cannot access amdcPerfLogs as an example
I've tried running through Homegroup setup and Googled for days on setting up a network with Windows 10 and can't seem to figure out what I'm not doing here to make these computers talk and communicate with each other. I eventually, want to get all my computers to talk to the AMD so I can use it for a main storage/backup for the home network.

Had phone system upgraded recently where I work. Router and phones where installed and right away half the computers where unable to connect to the server and the network printer is completely inaccessible.
All computers have new IP addresses now and only some of them are able to connect toe the server. The IP address for the printer times out when I try to ping it and it is the same for the old IP address of the server. These settings where not changed when phones where installed. The server still lists the old IP address on old Ethernet port but now has a new Ethernet port with new IP address that is being used by the working computers. Disabling this new Ethernet port disables all access to the server.
Trying to map the network drive with some computers does not work and says that the folder is not valid on windows xp or that windows can not access the folder on windows 10. On the working computers I can map the network drive normally with identical commands.

Yooooo! I have a Lenovo Y510p with modified BIOS so I could replace the crappy Intel wireless card that came with it (Intel Centrino N2230) for an Azurewave - Broadcom 4352. The experience has been good so far, the only problem I'm having is the low wireless signal with the card. I have other laptops that have higher range and strengths on the same place with older cards.
I've tried verifying (and even swapping) the cables and noted no difference. I asked on another forum and they told me that it could be that the card is not receiving enough power, but I have yet to find a settings in the BIOS or in Windows that dwindles its performance. I have recently updated the driver from Lenovo's website and it didn't improve a bit. How to improve the wireless signal?

Yesterday, I successfully installed Win 10 on a neighbor's Win 7 laptop. However, it could not connect to the internet, explaining that his Wi-Fi software (which worked fine with Win 7) was incompatible with Win 10. I switched him to DSL and he is doing fine. But how do I get him compatible Wi-Fi software?
My three laptops are all Windows 8 Spanish edition, upgraded to 8.1, and then upgraded to 10. All run wireless with no problem.
