I updated my windows 7 home edition few months back however, when i wanted to connect my laptop with my smart tv through an hdmi cable , no display was detected. I tried high end hdmi cables but i am unable to connect my HP envy laptop with the tv. Besides i have not installed november update to my laptop.
View 2 RepliesMy HDMI Cable is not working on my Asus Notebook after I did the Windows 10 update. I have tried fixing the sound and resolution on control panel, i also made sure all updates and installation of apps are up to date, however, the TV doesn't seem to recognize the cable anymore, or the computer.
Tried changing the settings on the TV as suggested on one of these forums. I must be missing something.
I currently have an Asus Vivopc desktop that I use as an htpc and it is connected directly to my LG LB5800 tv. The PC has onboard speakers which sound terrible and when I connect the tv via HDMI, the video works fine but no sound comes from the tv.
I still get sound from the PC but no matter what I can see, there is no option whatsoever to have the TV as a playback device. It isn't listed at all. I've reinstalled the intel and realtek drivers but that didn't work. I've opened up the playback devices, shown disabled devices and it didn't show up either.
With Windows 8 it worked flawlessly. With Windows 8.1 it would only work when I rebooted the computer with the TV on, otherwise the device would disappear as soon as it was turned off. With Windows 10, it just isn't there at all.
Just unboxed my computer from CyberpowerPC, GTX 720 graphics card, installed/updated all drivers with drivereasy (paid for just now) and I am still having the issue with HDMI port not working. I have tried to plug into a monitor and a TV, neither are working, I have also tried to use multiple HDMI cables, still does not work. My monitor has an auto-switch source availability and turned on, when I plug my computer into the monitor with HDMI it continually cycles, finds no signal and goes into sleep mode. Then rinse/repeats until I either turn off the computer, monitor or just unplug the monitor from the computer. Currently I am using a DVI(computer) to HDMI (tv) and its working fine. So I know its the port on the computer. Do I need to contact CyberpowerPC to send the computer back to get this issue resolved?

I have tried - Right clicking on audio, playback device - not showing my tv or any high def icon. Just speaker.I checked my graphics card - it says intel (r) HD graphics - I clicked update and it said it was already updated.
I have tried many things from forums and nothing seems to work. My computer is pretty old, but worked before the upgrade.

It was working in the past few days (since I upgraded from Windows 7) but after I rebooted the system when I click on the menu icon it does not open.
Can't type anything in the "search the web and windows" bar at the bottom. Also used to be able to click on start and type the name of the application to run it Windows would find it - this is not working either. Nothing happens when you type.
View 8 RepliesI have a 5.1 surround sound speaker system connected to my computer, which has always worked fine when running windows 7, however as soon as I upgraded, windows 10 will not play any sound through them.
- The volume is turned up on the system as well as the speakers
- Not on mute
- Have tried reinstalling the drivers
I can't think what else it would be. When I open up the playback device menu, it says that sound should be playing through the speakers, however I get nothing.
What baffles me is when I open realtek HD Audio manager to test all of the speakers, I can make them play a sample sound through that, however no other applications will play sound.
This is my setup:

Only the HDMI1 port on this TV supports HDMI 2.0. I have a good quality IBRA 6ft HDMI 2.0 cable that I'm using. If I try to boot into Windows 10 while I'm plugged into the HDMI 1 port, the screen stays black and doesn't even boot properly. If I press the power button on the PC it instantly shuts off and if I try to move the HDMI cable to a different port nothing happens.However, if I plug into the HDMI2 port which doesn't support HDMI 2.0, the computer boots fine and I can get into Windows, however the mouse jumps around, the text is weird colors and not very sharp on webpages, and images aren't great.
I updated the BIOS, I have all the latest updates for other hardware, including GeForce Experience. I also followed all the instruction on setting up the TV to use as a 4k monitor.
I updated today from Windows 7 to 10, and everything seems to be working great except for a screensaver I purchased a few years ago. I know it's a relatively minor problem, but it worked fine on 7.
The screensaver worked by taking a screenshot when initialized, and displayed various effects over that image.
Now when I attempt to run the screensaver I get the following error:
I'm not running any other programs whatsoever, so I wonder if a core Windows process is now interfering with this?
For those of you who can't get the Windows Start menu in build 10074 to appear or work when you UPDATE from build 10061 it WILL work if you revert back first to build 10049 and then update.
Activate windows and re-boot -- now it will work. Ensure Windows is activated after the re-boot but activate BEFORE reboot.
(Another good reason for keeping loads of backup images).
You can also now hide system icons again as before too. Don't forget to clean up disk space by using Disk cleanup in properties in file manager -- you can get rid of Windows.old if you don't want to revert back again --in any case I think it's better to RESTORE a previous version from a backup image if you must restore windows.
Updated my computer from windows 7 a day ago to windows 10 and ever since I have not been able to get any internet. I have tried updating all of my drivers by using a USB stick but it made no difference and when I troubleshoot the problem it says "there might be a problem with the driver for the Ethernet adapter"
I had upgraded to Windows 10 before and had the same problem, but i downloaded the drivers for my motherboard and it fixed the problem, but later after that my windows didn't activate and windows support told me to take it back to Windows 7. I then had to uninstall my Ethernet drivers and reinstall the drivers and that fixed it but then I upgraded back to windows 10 and here ...

I have a Logitech wireless keyboard that uses a USB device. After a update on the 10 of March my keyboard stopped working. I have tried another wireless USB keyboard Mircosoft and a a wired Microsoft keyboard without success.
I have followed a few of the suggested fixes after doing a search without success.
I know there are tons of messages about how to install or force install W10 but I have a different error and none of the solutions seem to work.
I'm getting error 80244019 in WindowsUupdate every time I try to look for updates. I've tried since yesterday the force command line but it does nothing. I've tried also fixing Windows Update with WUdiagnostic. It "solves" 3 or 4 errors everytime I run it but it doesn't change the 80244019 error.
How do I solve 80244019 error?
I have also tried the MediaCreationTool way but when it's going to start the installation it says that I'm trying to install a different language, not the one that uses my OS so it won't let me upgrade The only way is wiping my files and apps and I don't want that. How do I change the language of the MediaCreationTool?
I've recently downloaded Microsoft's Windows 10 update and ever since i'm having issues with my computer. First, I'm pretty sure the update made my computer crash because 2 days after the update, my OS completely shut down and i lost everything on my drives. I then reformatted it and installed back windows 8.1. However, I can't connect to internet since the crash, even though im connected via Ethernet. It says IPv6 has no internet connection and IPv4 just started to have the same problem. I tried to reset winsock entrie and tcp/ip stacks, but in vain. I also tried set google's open dns address, but no success there either.

Recently updated to Windows 10, and I watch a lot of tv through my laptop by HDMI to my HDTV. Before with Windows 7, I NEVER had an issue like this.
After somewhere around 15-20 minutes of the HDMI being plugged in and watching via my TV, the computer locks itself. It goes to a black screen and "disconnects" from the HDMI input. BUT the programs keep running, but I can't see or hear them since it doesn't go back to laptop input. To bring it back I have to click the mousepad and it brings me right to asking for my password. How do I stop the laptop from ever locking while I'm watching or streaming through HDMI? It doesn't do it when it's playing straight off the laptop...
I have a new all in one desktop. I want to use the monitor as an extenal screen for my laptop. I connect the hmdi lead from the laptop to the AiO hdmi input socket. The laptop 'sees' the external monitor (Fn and F5 tells me this) but the monitor will not detect the laptop.
View 1 RepliesMS Edge (used rarely!!) has stopped working since the November update has been installed. Oddly it works if I point it directly to a proxy (we use a bluecoat appliance at work) but if I don't, the packets don't even hit our site FWs. If I stop the windows FW service then it works perfectly and the packets(requests) are sent directly to our site FWs as expected and I can see it all on the FW tracker.IE and chrome are not effected and work fine either way.
We're not deploying windows 10 right now so it's not causing a major problem, what could be the issue. Obviously leaving the windows FW service stopped and disabled is not favourable for when clients are not on the LAN.
I recently changed my microsoft password.After a reset, after entering the PIN, i was greeted with the message: " username or password is incorrect".I changed it to log on with my new password and it worked perfectly.
If i enter a different PIN: " the PIN is incorrect"
It is worth mentioning that i changed my PIN several times but with no result.
This morning when I logged on my Surface Pro (1), my Micosoft Wedge mouse quit working after it finished installing a Win 10 update. The mouse shows up in Device Mgr/Bluetooth, and it says it is working properly, but it isn't. I've tried reinstalling the driver, and checking bluetooth settings but cannot find what the problem is.

After exhausting every option possible, bottom line is that Dell is not supporting my laptop model in Windows 10. There is no Windows 10 webcam driver available other than the one that Windows 10 installs automatically. It does not open my Dell webcam video. Any way other than installing a USB webcam?

View 3 RepliesI have an Asus Desktop. I plugged a working HDMI cord into my older Sony Bravia TV (Smart TV). I have a GTX 760 192 Bit NVIDIA graphics card. I went to the NVIDIA control panel, and it wont read the TV. I tried going through the windows 10 64 bit version of trying to find connected devices, and the TV shows up but as a media streaming device. It almost seems like the PC itself doesn't know it has an HDMI slot.
