View 24 RepliesThe Windows store won't open and I'm not sure what to do when i click on it, the splash screen pops up for half a second then disappears as if I never opened it, however it used to work. I've tried running commands in the powershell, scanned my computer, cleared the cache, and when I used the store troubleshooter it said that I needed a microsoft account, although I had signed into my computer (and the store before).
View 1 RepliesAfter successfully installing Win 10 it ran without any issues for about 1 day then Edge refused to launch, the splash screen opens for about 10 seconds and then disappears. The only change made to Edge was to import bookmarks from IE. Unsure where to start looking for an answer.
View 13 RepliesI installed Windows 10 on my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 8. Recently I can't launch Windows Store. It will show the splash screen and then quickly close.
View 2 RepliesWhen I boot up my computer (to windows 10). It will do the Asus splash screen then instead of going straight to windows if does this black screen with the kinda terminal thing (with no writing/text) then goes on to windows. Does this affect my computer?
View 1 RepliesMy windows 10 store doesn't open. When I click it, the blue screen comes up meaning its loading but it closes while loading. I had restarted my laptop and it continues to happen.
View 6 RepliesOK, I recently 'upgraded' my windows 7 to windows 10. It was working fine since Christmas, then today it just freezes on the windows 10 splash screen, which as I'm sure you can guess is incredibly annoying.
View 4 RepliesI have win 10 pro installed on my dell e6410. When I start my laptop I see very bright blank white splash screen for 2 seconds during the boot process. The sequence is as folows:
1- I press start button and it powers up
2- Windows 10 logo screen appears
3- Very bright white splash screen appears for 2 seconds(This is not normal as i don't see it on work computer which also have windows 10 pro )
4- Then Windows 10 login screen appears and then everything normal.
How to get rid of appearance of this very bright white splash screen which appears during boot process as it is very annoying when you work in dark environment.
I have a desktop that I ran the update on from windows 7 up to windows 10. When I go to shutdown on this system it appears to begin the shutdown process. However, after a few moments with black screens and appearing to have shut down, the PC near turns off and shows the BIOS splash screen and begins to start windows up again.
I have tried various troubleshooting options on the internet though only resulting in - a screen every time I "shut down" that tells me that there has been an error and that the computer must restart, even though I was shutting it down in the first place... It also tells me that there is an error named "apple.sys" possibly causing the problem. The computer then restarts fine every time after that point though the only possible way of me shutting the computer down is manually holding the shut down button on my pc case. Then once I power up after that my computer fails to give power to my keyboard and mouse, to which I must then reset the BIOS every single time and then restart. This is the only way I can turn my pc back on after every time I manually power down - resetting the BIOS to bring power to my accessories. I dont really want to keep doing this every single night and plus I figure it must be bad for my pc.
I am now wondering if a clean install is my only option, or if there is some other way of keeping windows 10… just having it work properly.
I just bought this new ASUS K550J laptop and came with Windows 8.1 with it but I wanted to install Windows 10, fresh install. I did the usual things needed for installation and it was ok but it takes too long to boot up. Here is a video of what am I speaking. It's UEFI and I think it's the Windows Boot Manager, how can I reset it?
Code:
Windows Boot Manager--------------------identifier {bootmgr}device
partition=DeviceHarddiskVolume2path
EFIMicrosoftBootbootmgfw.efidescription
Windows Boot Managerlocale
[Code] .....
Make an APP start at boot no splash screen in systray, I don't mind editing my registry as i have done for many other reasons in the past...
View 4 RepliesYesterday I got a notification that my windows 10 upgrade was ready on my MSI GT60-0NE laptop and decided to give it a try because I really disliked windows 8.1. Windows update went through downloading the files and preparing the computer for installation. It then did the usual, configuring updates on the blue screen, got to 100% and just shut down completely. I left it there for about 5 minutes and decided to try to power it back on. When turning the computer back on, it stayed on for about a minute and then cut itself back off.
After waiting a minute it turned back on, then back off again. It kept repeating this for about 5 minutes. During this phase I saw absolutely nothing on the screen, no MSI loading splash screen, no cursor, absolutely nothing at all. I couldn't enter the BIOS, couldn't run recovery or even get into safe mode. Absolutely nothing worked. The battery light was also flashing blue which I had never seen before. During this time the hard drive light was flashing and flickering the usual red light.
I did a hard reset on the computer and then turned it back on. When i powered it back on the screen was still completely blank, no MSI splash screen, no cursors, couldn't enter the BIOS or anything. During this time the hard drive light was a steady red. The blue battery light was no longer there and it was back to its usual constant red light. After about 10 minutes the computer turned itself off. Being frustrated I left it overnight and tried again this morning.
When I power the computer on now, there is no hard drive light. It doesn't even give a single flash of red. The computer will stay on but just stays there at the black screen. I've tried to look for solutions but I can't get anything to work. The only thing I can hear running is the fan.
I've tried to remove the hard drive and boot to see if I could get into bios, still a black screen.
I've tried removing the video card and booting to see if I could get anything through integrated graphics, still a black screen.
I've tried to plug the computer into another monitor, still a black screen but it does recognize the signal.
Specs for the GT60-0NE 403-US:
Intel Core i7 3630QM (2.40 GHz)
Nvidia GTX 680M (4GB)
Windows 8.1 64-bit (Windows 10 now?)
I have pinned "Recent Places" folder (%USERPROFILE%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsRecent) and this folder shows in explorer windows in Quick Access area. This is OK.
But why this folder disappears from Quick Access aren in open / save dialogs in all applications?
Every other pinned items show up in both explorer windows and open/save dialogs...
Upon start up of my PC it loads up then the screen goes blank, like its in sleep mode, no mouse nothing, if I turn the monitor on and off, the screen appears for a second or two then disappears again.
I tried restarting in safe to check drivers but it does exactly the same thing here. In safe mode however, under monitors Generic PNP Monitor has the Yellow Exclamation mark indicating an issue. I have tried uninstalling this and also my graphics drivers and it seemed to work for the first time. Next day I turned on my PC again and the same thing is happening. I have to constantly turn on and off my monitor so I can navigate to the relevant areas to uninstall drivers etc.
I have tried a Google search but everything I have read has said something about having a mouse pointer on a blank screen but I do not even have that.
My graphics are built in, not a separate card which the driver for this is labelled Intel HD(R) Graphics. Unfortunately I do not have access to another monitor to check to see if the monitor is faulty. Just to add, this just started randomly before a fresh Windows 10 install.
My computer went to a black screen again after installation, but after waiting for a while my computer fell asleep and I went to wake it up and the black screen was gone. I still get the black screen after I restart, but I just press the power button on my laptop, put it to sleep and then I press some button (any) and it's fine.
View 9 RepliesI recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Since the upgrade I have noticed the following:
When my computer comes alive from screen saver mode, sometimes though not always all the icons are missing. The task bar is there but clicking on any item there does nothing. It's like everything just seizes up.
W10 (64 bit Home) has been working OK on this laptop but recently I have been able to open the settings screen for only a micro-second. Having found people having the same problem I have tried running SFC several times, as suggested, but it says it found an issue it could not resolve.
Again following instructions on the forum I tried running DISM with an iso loaded and this hung at 40% for hours (overnight).
I do not understand what to look for in the log file, but there are several lines that mention an error. I attach the log file (zipped)....
I can't open the Windows 10 Store on my relatively recent upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It did originally work, but the start menu currently looks like this (tooltip when hovering): I've followed the PowerShell advice at URL....but this didn't work with errors like:
Code:
Add-AppxPackage : Cannot find path 'C:ProgramFilesWindowsAppsMicrosoft.WindowsStore_2015.1013.14.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe
AppxMetadataAppxBundleManifest.xml'because it does not exist.At H:Downloads
einstall-preinstalledApps
einstall-preinstalledApps.ps1:35 char:2+ Add-AppxPackage -register $PackagePath -DisableDevelopmentMode+
[code]....
After upgrading to Windows 10, everything was fine. But after the Store updated itself, I get this message: "Store can't be opened. An update may be available in Store." How can I update store when I even can not open it??!!
View 2 RepliesSo, I just updated to Windows 10 today, and I'm having some problems.
1) I click on the Windows/Start button on my desktop... and nothing happens. What's up with this and how can I fix it?
2) I can't open the App Store. It will not open from the button on the little tray on the bottom, it just flashes an outline of a window and then it closes itself.
I did a little more exploring, and I somehow got to a Settings app and tried accessing the store from changing one of the default apps on the Default Apps tab. It threw up an error message at me, saying something about how the process was illegal because a registry key was marked or something.
I cant seem to get my Windows store to open. My install is about a day old, and was a clean install. When I click the store icon I get a brief view of it loading and then it disappears.
I've tried going to my app data and deleting the windows store files.
I've gone into command prompt and tried resetting the store and it doesn't work.
Tried WSReset.exe and the store pop up and disappear again.
After the last major update to windows 10, Microsoft solitaire collection and windows 10 store will not open. When I click on either one I get a flash screen and then it disappears (both).
View 6 Replieswhen i open any video it simply says the app cant start and the many other app are also not working like store music photo viewer.
View 7 RepliesWindows store won't open and thus can't get to any games. Sound is all muffled. Can't find toolbars for Microsoft Edge. Lots of issues in Windows 10. Wanted to rollback and got the notice that files needed to rollback were deleted. Great job Microsoft.
View 1 RepliesWhen I try and open my store in windows 10 it will just pop up really quick then go away. And when I try and open any of my apps it tells me that they can't be opened and to go to the App Store to fix but I can't open the app store. I have tried every fix out there that I could find and no luck.
View 1 RepliesI have problem with my laptop. I cant open windows store after install update windows 10 treshold 2.
