View 1 RepliesI'm using Hotmail for my e-mails. The Windows 10 Mail app has already been synched and I am able to send and receive e-mails. Now I'm able to receive photo attachments in these e-mails but when I try to send any attached photos they do not go through. If I access Hotmail directly I can send photos but not with Windows 10 MAIL.
View 4 RepliesMY LIVE TILES specifically the Mail, Flipboard and Photos app doesn't work. though Mail works from time to time
> YES the option of live tiles is ON
> YES they are updated in the store
> YES I opened them and used them
> YES I did a clean refresh/reformat after upgrading from 8.1 to 10
though my desktop and laptop works nicely
When you choose photos and select 'open with' it gives a selection of apps. In the list I see the apps but one that looks odd is labelled %1 and has a generic app icon. It's almost as if it's some kind of old or broken program that doesn't exist. All the other programs like paint and photos are in the list as they should be but this is a rogue one.
View 9 RepliesI am having a strange problem with Photos app on my windows 10. Let's say I click the Photos app icon, nothing happens, doesn't even through any error.
View 1 RepliesUsing Gmail with Windows10 mail client, attachments take very long time to download. Using gmail directly they download quickly. Appears problem is with Windows 10.
View 2 RepliesFor a while now I haven't been able to download any attachments in the mail app. Also my webmail now says, outlook (preview). So I'm not sure if that is a factor. Also the email is a hotmail.
View 1 RepliesI installed Windows 10 yesterday. Now I am unable to open any of my photos. I receive an error "invalid value to registry".
View 1 RepliesBut 2-3 times a day Minecraft for windows 10, the photos application and the Xbox live application will open all at once. I don't know what causes this and haven't seen any similar issues anywhere else.
View 2 RepliesMy windows photos is the default viewer. After downloading windows 10, I now cant open photos. I get a message the 'wait operation has timed out'.
View 3 RepliesI installed windows 10 about a week back and although its been having a lot of freezes, its otherwise run pretty smoothly, except for today. I haven't had this issue before today but now whenever I go to open a photo using the normal windows photo app i get an error saying "the remote procedure call failed" and it won't open.

View 1 RepliesI've got some new photos in my laptop recently and yesterday I was able to open any of them. I did it for the entire day. From this morning I suddenly can't open any photo. When I click on one of them it says ''the wait operation timed out'' after 10 seconds. I really need to open some photos. What can I do and why did this happen ? Also I can't open any music files as well.
View 1 RepliesI just switched to the new mail app mostly because i want calendar, contacts and email shared across multiple computers and devices. Calendar and contacts seems to be shared fine but I have a cableone.net email and a gmail account. My new mail downloads fine but older mail and none of my folders in outside accounts show up. I have played with the sync settings...started at one week and moved out from there but old mail and folders do not download.
View 2 Replieswhen I change my sync setting of Gmail in windows 10 mail app, ie; sync mails from any time, it stop synchronizing the mails . It happens both in Gmail normal emails as well as gmail app mails.
View 2 RepliesWhen I open an image on my windows 10 PC it fails to open in the photos app and force closes the app and shows the message "file system error (-2145042388)". Some other apps like Adobe Reader touch, Mail & Calendar, Calculator and many more are also not opening. When I connect the PC to Internet it works and all apps open but with a delay.

Is there a way to force Edge to download PDF Files, or open in Acrobat Reader?
Friends, I am running W10.1511.10586.11 and typically use the Outlook 2013 desktop application (part of the MS Office 2013 suite) to view, send, and file email for my primary Yahoo! IMAP account. This application works fairly well, and I really have no complaints. However, I got a little bored last night and decided to explore the Windows Mail/People/Calendar applications, something which I was unfamiliar with until last night. So I set up Mail to bring in a few of my other email accounts (Yahoo!, Outlook.com, Gmail) that I usually just log into those services' online web apps to use, and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked its clean, simple design. So I figured I'd spend a day using this Mail app rather than the standard Outlook 2013 desktop program.
One of the things I ran into was that I cannot open URLs in any emails. Not even very common ones, such as those to twitter or Facebook. None. The message reads "Unable to open...[insert link here]". I've changed everything I can think of that may cause this behavior (changed the default email to Mail, changed default browser from Firefox to Edge, turned off my anti-virus/firewall and Malwarebytes monitoring). I'm not sure if this is just a "feature" of Mail that needs to be fixed by MS, or some setting on my machine that is causing this.
I can continue to use Outlook and online services, but the convenience of Mail (which seems to do an IMAP sync much faster than Outlook) could eventually draw me in if it eventually matures enough. However, that won't ever happen if I'm not able to traverse hyperlinks.

Was running Win7, just downloaded Win10.
All good, but Live Mail won't open -- just hangs there until I go to task manager and close the task.
Uninstalled Windows Essentials and re-installed 2012 version from Windows Downloads site.
when I click on the icon for email or my calendar, nothing happens
View 1 RepliesI have upgraded to Windows 10 Pro (final non-insider version) with a clean install (formatted hard drive). The Mail app worked for a while but about a 3 days ago it stopped working. Whenever I open it it closes (I assume crashes) after about 5 seconds. In the meantime it is trying to sync my e-mail and I can open a menu like settings but cannot click anything else. I can't reinstall the app since the option to uninstall is not available on this built-in app. However a friend of mine ran into the same issue and he uninstalled with a powershell script. He says it didn't work. I have 3 accounts registed in the app 1 is outlook, 1 is gmail, 1 is yahoo.
View 1 RepliesI have recently bought a laptop from PC Specialist. The initial setup went ahead without too much drama, however after having used the laptop for a couple of times since then, I logged in today and find I can't open and use the Mail app. The first thing I noticed was the Mail symbol had disappeared from the Taskbar and I can't find it on the Start menu or under All Programs either. The actual app on the right of the Start menu is showing but does nothing at all when I click on it although it does show headers from the emails in the Inbox. I have also tried to find the program in the Uninstall list but it's not there either.
View 2 RepliesOutlook Express worked fine a couple of days ago. This morning it won't open, I do not have office 365, and all the questions I've seen about Outlook not opening relate to Office. Why is Outlook not opening.
View 7 RepliesJust yesterday, my WLM decided NOT to open. Don't know what happened, but super annoying.
I upgraded to Windows 10 about 6 months ago, and it was working fine. I'm using a PC that is about 7 years old, but kept clean and updated regularly.
For the longest time, the mail app has been working well. But this morning, I noticed that it hadn't synced with my IMAP server since yesterday so I tried to edit the settings. When I click on edit settings, the settings window opens but I cannot open the settings of any of the mail accounts. This means I cannot even delete the account to recreate it. When I tried to add the account again, I got an error message 0x8007054.
I can log into my imap account from my other win10 computer and other devices so that is not the problem.
