View 1 RepliesI got my new Wi-Fi adapter today (TL-WDN4200) and in order to access its 5Ghz connecting capabilities, you have to download the updated drivers off the TP-Link website. I did just that. However when I go to device manager, right click my WiFi adapter and update the drivers. This error message appears when I click on the driver file: [URL] ...
I have windows 10 64 bit. Will that be the problem? since TP-Link has not released any official drivers for Windows 10 yet? Will I need to revert back to Windows 8.1 to access the 5Ghz connection?
Whats going on with my tablet (WinBook). I've installed W10 few weeks ago since then never had any problems with it, but today I noticed I cannot connect to wifi. it's gone from Network settings, if I open "connection" icon on task bar I only see Airplane mode..Network adapter from Device manager is also gone. What to do now...
I did try this - connect to internet via Bluetooth from Lumia phone and with Intel Driver Update Utility scanned tablet, only thing it found is update for Graphics driver.. what else can I do?
Latest driver installed, StarTech USB300WN2X2D, Mediatek/Ralink RT3572L
View 9 RepliesAfter upgrading my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I had problems with Wifi It cannot detect Dlink USB WIFI adapter which was running smoothly in 8.1. I think it has compatibility issues, I had tried many time, but now back to 8.1. make of USB Wifi Adapter for smooth Windows 10 run
View 1 RepliesOk so got a new usb WiFi adapter. I installed the driver first which I downloaded on my phone then transferred to my pc via usb cable. Have tried reinstalling multiple times, still won't work. I'm guessing the problem is there's no win 10 drivers for it. NOTE: I did have a old usb adapter working with no driver before but not even that's working even with drivers uninstalled. The new adapter shows up in device manager with a problem indicated with a code 10.But not in network devices.
View 1 RepliesSo yesterday my wi-fi started to turn off randomly for no reason, its not my internet connection becouse it works on other devices. Also i already tried ticking off power saving option on my network adapter, it worked for a while i thought, but after i restarted my laptop even though its still ticked off, its still turning off randomly.. (Also i noticed it turns off when i plug or unplug my mouse?)
Other problems i have:
1. Cant set opera as my default browser it asks me if i want to set it as default every time i open it and i always click yes..
2. Cant turn my touchpad off even though when i use fn+f9 it says its turned off..
I've recently upgraded my home PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I've been using a Realtek USB Wi-Fi adapter to connect to the internet. After installing the new OS and running it for the first time, I couldn't connect to my home network.
After reinstalling the drivers supplies by the manufacturer and reattaching the adapter, I attempted to again connect to the network. The "Verifying and connecting" message displayed, but after closing Settings and returning to the same page, all of the Wi-Fi settings have disappeared, like the drivers have crashed.
changed from windows 7 to windows 10 unable to connect to wi-fi using netgear AC1200 usb adapter will not connect gone back to 7 works fine.
View 1 RepliesJust upgraded to Windows 10 (big mistake??) and lost WiFi. Norton scan report indicates IP address has disappeared from adapter.

I've had some issues with a BSOD for over a year now, first when I was running Windows 8 and now still with Windows 10. It first appeared after I got a USB wi-fi adapter which I replaced with an adapter that connected to the motherboard, but the BSODs have not stopped.
I inquired about it a few months ago on several other forums. It was apparently related to some driver that the USB adapter installed (the name of which I can no longer remember), but I was unable to uninstall it or delete it without my wi-fi becoming unusable. I'm also unable to use a wired connection in my apartment, though I'm not sure that would even be possible if I deleted the driver. The error code I get is "bad_pool_caller", but I believe I used to get "irql_not_less_or_equal" as well.
For some background, the BSOD usually appears when I'm doing something intensive over the internet like watching video on YouTube or Twitch, streaming audio, etc.
Here's my debug folder: COLIN-PC-Wed_09_02_2015_214036_86.zip
OS: Windows 10 Home, 64-bit
PC: HP Pavillion g6 notebook
Network adapters: Ralink RT5390R 8-2.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter (Date: 5/18/2015, Version: 5.0.57.0), and Realtek PCle FE Family Controller (Date: 4/01/2015, Version: 9.1.401.2015)
Problem: Every once in a while, I'll lose my internet connection. When I click the wifi icon on the taskbar, there will be no networks listed. The only way to fix the problem is to go the Device Manager, disable the Ralink Wi-Fi Adapter and then re-enable it. This fixes the problem anywhere from a of couple minutes to a couple of hours, then it happens again.
Solutions I've tried: I've tried doing a system restore but it failed and there are no more restore points. I've tried uninstalling the Ralink driver, downloading a new copy, and reinstalling it.
For 2 weeks I've been trying to upgrade my Asus G50VT laptop from Windows 7 home to WIndows 10 home. I have tried over 5 times using Windows Update and several times using the Microsoft USB/DVD installer. Everything downloads fine; and gets to the black screen with the "installing drivers" with a percentage going around in a circle. It gets stuck at 32% every time. I have to force shutdown the laptop and it rolls back to Windows 7...
There are no new BIOS updates available from Asus (laptop was released in 2009) the latest BIOS is already installed and from 2012. I don't see anything for windows 10 on the Asus Website.I have all external usb devices removed. I have tried shutting off my WiFi adapter and disabling / uninstalling Norton Security/Anti-Virus.I have sucessfully upgraded 2 other machines from windows 8.1 to 10 with no problem.
I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on.
I have a problem with Windows 10 Network Sharing feature. It assigns fine the IP address 192.168.137.1 to the network card that acts as the bridge to connect other computers to the Internet. But it's not working, and when one goes to the share NIC adapter and right-click on it and select PROPERTIES, and then from the list of it shows one select :
"Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then you see that everything is fine, the IP address 192.168.137.1 shows there and the subnet 255.255.255.0 also there. BUT ONCE YOU CLICK ON OK in that window, another Window POPS UP and a message saying:
"The IP address 192.168.137.1 you have entered for this network adapter has already being assigned to another adapter (in parenthesis it shows the same adapter that it's assigned in the SHARING tab in the main adapter), so there is not way to get out of that 'network card properties'. further down the message in that window says: DO YOU WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY CHANGING THE IP ADDRESS FOR THIS ADAPTER? and the choices are: YES or NO
The command Line in an MSDOS window run as administrator: IPCONFIG /ALL doesn't shows any other virtual or real NIC with the IP address 192.168.137.1 except for the one that was assigned in the "Sharing" tab in the properties of the real NIC that connects directly to the ISP box.
I don't know if I have explained well this issue, but all I can say it's that no other network adapter has that IP address. I have a VirtualBox virtual adapter that it has an IP address totally different, the same as another Virtual VMWare adapter.
I even went to control panel > Device Manager > Delete both NIC's (the one that connects directly to the Internet and the one that acts as the SHARING network, and the issue remains the same.
I cannot use the Wireless Router to connect my tablets or WI-FI Cellphones.
I have several Operating Systems in the Same Computer to boot with, and Windows 8.1 for instance Network Sharing works fine in the same computer.
I'm running Windows 10 PRO 64bits
While trying to plug in a VGA cable, I accidentally turned off my power strip, which cut the power to my computer. When I turned it and my computer back on, I was unable to connect to the internet via Ethernet cable.
I went to device manager and under network adapter, it said "This device cannot start, code 10." I've tried reinstalling it, both automatically and manually from a CD and USB. I've done almost everything I can think of to fix this. I scanned and fix any errors on my hard disk, I've reinstalled all my USB drivers, I've power-cycled my router, I've tried different Ethernet cords, and I've tried to delete any corrupted files in my registry, but that must either not be a thing on Windows 10, or I am doing something wrong.
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel i7
Motherboard: Asus
I knew I should've never installed windows 10, but I decided to since it's free and all. When I successfully installed it and tried to connect to wifi, it didn't work. My wifi has small range (so people don't guess the password and use our wifi), but large enough for our whole house. I got right next to my router and it still didn't show up on the Wifi List.
View 1 RepliesI upgraded from W8 to W10. I have Acer V17. For few weeks, everything seemed to be ok... And then, one week ago, I restarted my computer, and I think I saw some actualisation being installed (I thought I turned them off, but I probably did not...). Since that moment I dont have WIFI. And I mean no WIFI at all - my network center says, there are no WIFI networks to connect to.
But that is not true, because on my phone and other devices, there are WIFI networks. I tried to google the answer and tried few things, but nothing works. In Device manager, my WIFI adapter (Qualcom Atheros) ha yesllow exclamation mark, but when i try to update the drivers, it says, they are up to date... but the exclamation mark is still there, an I have no connection. I am completely hopeless, because I need WIFI for my job. I really hate the moment I decided to upgrade this system.
When I boot up I cannot get connected to my WiFi. The only way to get it to work is to shutdown and boot up again, then all is well.
I never had this problem until Win 10 upgrade.
I have a HP pav 500 something or other and it cannot keep a stable connections ( for more than 2 seconds) to my wifi. The wifi card is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n WiFi Adapter and always worked well before i installed Win 10.I got fed up tryin to fix driver issues so i bought a usb wifi card. It is ment to relay 150mbps but mannages 1-2 Mbps. i have speed tested my phone on wifi in the same location as my HP pc and my phone recieves 35Mbps.i have tried updating the drivers but all seem up to date.
View 2 Replies When I first installed Win 10 it was working great got my wifi connection working and everything now it seems I cannot get connected. I have tried several times, putting it mildly. I put in the Modem/router address and password and then I go to the site that shows you the wifi connections and mine is not there. But there are about 10 or 12 that are there. I have tried this several times like I said. And I have rebooted to see if that did anything and it made no diff.
It seems from some of the reading I have done this might be a problem caused by an update. It worked great for several days. And while I am thinking of it can you delete all those other wi fi addresses some how.
I got a new Dell this year, which came with Windows 7 (Dell Precision M4800), and it was working perfectly until the Wi-Fi stopped working. After hours of research and troubleshooting and updating, I figured out that the one and only reason my WiFi wasn't working was because my hardware WiFi switch was not working. In other words, even when I switch it into the on position, it still stays off.
With Windows 7, there was a convenient fix: go into my Bios, go into the wireless category, and tell the Bios to ignore the WiFi switch. This fix worked, and I forgot all about the problem until I upgraded to Windows 10. The WiFi stopped working again. So I went through all that hullabaloo of updating things, and nothing worked. So I isolated the problem to the WiFi switch.
I went back into my Bios, and found a disclaimer: For Windows 8 systems, the Bios does not affect wireless capability because they use their own OS drivers. In other words, for Windows 8 and up, I can't use the Bios to ignore my broken hardware switch. Here is my question: aside from replacing my WiFi switch, is there a way to turn wireless capability on in Windows 10? Is there a way to make Windows ignore the hardware switch?
I went through hours of customer support as well, and 40 minutes after I told them my switch was broken, they told me, " It appears to be a hardware issue." I do like a laugh, but I actually need my WiFi, I am temporarily downgrading back to Windows 7 until I can resolve the issue. But I really do like Windows 10, so I'd like to go back to it asap.
I recently update my Windows 8.1 to win10, but when i finished installing windows 10, my internal WiFi wasn't working (the wifi icon has an red X). at first i try enable it with the command prob (netsh interface) and it told me that the "wifi "doesn't existe. i reinstalled it back to windows 8.1 and the wifi rework again! days later i retry windows 10 and i get the same problem again.i have an Acer Aspire 7741, with an atheros AR9271wireless Network adapter.
View 1 RepliesRecently I ran to several problems on my windows 10 laptop. My laptop is 4K version of Lenovo Y50. It may have to do something with recent updates, but I am not sure when it occured. So, first problem is, that my start menu is not working. When I press the start button either on my keyboard or in the corner of my screen nothing happens and the same with search bar on my taskbar.
Also, some of the icons on right side of taskbar aren't working and one of them is wifi. I just can't find a way to connect to wifi. When I tried it on locked screen it said "connecting to the network is taking longer than usual" and did nothing. I also can't open the windows 8/10 special settings, it does nothing wherever I try to open it. I am also not home right now and can't connect with ethernet cable which seems to work.
I have just updated my old Lumia 920 to Windows 10. The big problem is: wi-fi is not working at all. Is recovery tool the only solution?
