Dec 6, 2015I have recently bought a dell xps 8700 and it worked great for about 3 days then the wifi would disconnect and not recognize any connections even though every other device in our house works perfectly. I am 100% certain it is an issue with the computer itself and not the wifi network i had to return the computer for a new one twice already and the issue has happened with every single one. i have tried updating the network and chipset drivers witch resolves the issue for about 2-3 days. what would cause the exact same issue to re appear on 3 separate products is beyond me. i am also aware of the issue with old vpn software from windows 8 but the computer came with windows 10.

Oct 5, 2015Title says it all. After waking from sleep mode the computer disconnects from the internet and I have to reboot to get a connection. Makes the whole point of having a "sleep" mode useless. This is annoying because often I go away from m y computer for a few hours during the day and don't want to have to reboot to get back onto my computer. Rebooting wears out the components and is uneccessary when it should simply wake from sleep mode with no hassles. I have a wired connection via ethernet cable. My router is always switched on.

Aug 21, 2015I have a network that has 3 laptops running Win 10. 2 of the computers (haven't checked the third yet) indicate they are on the same network SSID. One computer can print from the printers on the network.
The second laptop had the same printers and was able to print to them prior to Win 10. Now the SSID is the same as the first computer yet it can't print nor can it see any printers oe devices on the network!
BSOD :: When Restarting Computer Or Updating WiFi Drivers
Oct 8, 2015Tried a few different things to try and resolve this issue and it is just bugging me. The system is running fine it just crashes when I try to restart my computer. I only notice I had a fault because when I shut my computer down the monitor goes blank but the computer light is still on and running and it doesnt fully shut down. The error also pops up when I try to update/remove drivers for my networking device
The error I get is: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION(tcpip.sys)
I have updated all drivers via slimdrivers, only issue I am having seems to be with my Wireless Device
When downloading software from suppliers site it fails to install
I have tested the system memory, disk checker and all appears to be fine
I have attached some System Logs from Event Viewer as well as MSInfo & MEMORY.DMP
Networking :: Sharing Ethernet And WiFi Connections On One Computer
Jan 15, 2016My desktop is connected to my router by Ethernet. However, the printer I use is in my wife's office on another floor. It is a wireless Epson Artisan 730. I have added a Dlink DWA-171 wireless usb adapter to my desktop to print wirelessly to the Epson.
However, every time I want to print, I have to disable my Ethernet connection so the WiFi connection will see the printer. Then I'm done printing and I re-enable the Ethernet (faster, more stable).
Networking :: Shared Folders Intermittent Disconnect
Jan 12, 2016My question is in regards to shared folders. I run a desktop and laptop connected by ethernet, through a router. Both machines run Windows 10 Pro. Both machines have static IP addresses setup in the router. I do not use a software firewall and both computers are allowed onto the network.
I share folders on both machines in order to run client software on the laptop which connects to the flight simulator on the desktop. All of the shared folders have full control setup for everyone in both security settings and the shared folders tab.
There are HomeGroups set up on both machines with the correct information.
The problem (finally you say) is that occasionally, one computer cannot open the shared folders on the other over the network. This doesn't happen all the time, nor is the solution consistent. Sometimes closing and reopening the network folder fixes it. Sometimes just waiting does it. Other times, I have to reboot the computer(s). This creates issues with my client software trying to connect to the desktop. The error is: 0x80070035 Windows cannot find.....(to paraphrase).
I should point out that the other machine shows up in the network folder. I just can't access it when this happens. This happens mainly on the laptop attempting to connect to the desktop, although once in awhile the desktop cannot find the laptop.
I have checked and rechecked settings, deleted and rebult the HomeGroup, ensured password protected sharing is off, network discovery is on; amongst other things. I read about changing the shared computer name to its IP address. I also read somewhere about changing a number of registry entries that would force a change in Windows network behaviour.
Performance :: Won't Boot If Disconnect Secondary Drive(s)

If I remove the drives, windows won't boot. I've seen various errors, but basically it loads to logo, spins round and round and then halts, usually with "inaccessible boot device".

Oct 31, 2015I had to reinstall from scratch Windows 10 Enterprise 32-bit on my Dell Venue 8 Pro 32 GB tablet. After the first installation, the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (both work fine under Windows 8.1), disconnected after 10-12 seconds. However, probably after one of the automatic updates, they started working normally (it took about a day or so).
Now, after the 2nd Windows 10 installation, the problem with Bluetooth keyboard and mouse reappeared. I forced the Windows updates, but no luck.
It's curious because, if I keep the Settings window active, on the Bluetooth page, both the keyboard and the mouse work. If I minimize the Settings window, after about 30 seconds, both devices stop working. If I close the Settings window, or move to a different settings page, both devices stop working immediately.
I have changed the Bluetooth Support Service from Manual to Automatic, but it did not work. Running the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter did not work either.
Networking :: WiFi Drops Out And Can't Reconnect - Computer Hangs On Shutdown / Restart
Jan 7, 2016I installed W10. This problem appears to be random and happens a couple of time a month. It is really annoying. What happens is, the WiFi appears to stop working. It can't find any available networks and won't reconnect no matter what I do. I have even tried closing/restarting explorer but that does nothing.
If I try to shut-down or restart my computer, it just hangs on the shut-down/restart screen. I have to hold down the power button to get my computer to shut-down. The weird thing is, after a restart, it works fine ...for a few weeks. It just seems very strange.
I use a WiFi dongle. I have a couple of them so I tried each one - they all eventually give me the same result . I have a HP if that works.
Windows USB Connect / Disconnect Sound Randomly Occurs
Feb 9, 2016I seem to be having a weird thing where my computer makes the dis/connect sound randomly but especially when I am gaming. There doesn't seem to be a loss in connectivity of my keyboard or mouse as I can still move around in the game.
I'm running a wireless mouse and separate wireless keyboard (i.e there are two receivers connected to my pc)
Also something else that is weird and may be to do with it, my gpu (970) is showing up in the "safely disconnect" menu in the bottom right of my taskbar.

Nov 2, 2015I have my laptop at work and have had no trouble connecting the company WiFi (they have Guest WiFi and a WiFi where you need to enter your company provided Username and Password). I have been connecting using my Username and password. Today I had to change my company login password. Now when I try to connect my laptop I get a "can't connect" message because the password saved in my laptop is no longer valid. But I can't find a place in Win10 to enter my new password.
I remember the first time I logged onto the company WiFi a Windows popup came up asking for my Username and Password (which was saved so I didn't need to enter it again - until now). This time not getting the popup - it just says "can't connect".

Jan 9, 2016Running Windows 10 on a Dell Latitutde I was trying to setup a Netgear Wifi Extender because the Fios Router does not reach all the way to the other side of the house. I did the setup (so I thought) the way the manual told me and my computer was trying to connect to the extender, but it just stayed in "Connecting..." For a long long time. Eventually I gave up and thought I'd hit the reset button on the extender and try again.
Now my wifi adapter finds NO networks. All my other devices see all the networks.
The only other time this has ever happened I had accidentally hit the network adapter switch on the side of the PC, so I'm 100% sure that's not the problem and that it is 'on' in the settings. I've tried restarting the pc several times as well as toggling the adapter on/off, airplane mode on/off, and the switch on the PC on/off.. And it still sees no networks..

Nov 24, 2015I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on.
