And some programs are on the SSD and others on the HHD.

Aug 4, 2015I have tried to upgrade from win7 to win10 after copying the files and the system restarts, I will get the error 0xc000000f. I have both win7 and win10 disks and the automatic repair would not work.
Apparently this has to to with some bios settings, I have tried to follow the guide but I do not have all the options to described in the guide below.

Oct 13, 2015I have a small Acer computer that runs a weather program that takes data from my weather station and updates my weather page on the internet. I bought the computer new with Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 10, then did a clean install of 10. Everything is working great except for one thing, I can't delete files, they keep returning to the folder.
I will occasionally use the snipping tool to save a file as jpeg and then use it to update my Facebook page. I also download the latest update to my Weather program. I go to these folders, Download and Documents, I delete several file and later that day they have returned. I have even used Bit Defender File Shredder to delete them and they still come back. I've been a Windows 7 user for many years and never ran into this issue.

I already tried things like trying to delete the folder manually with CMD.exe and a program called Total Commander but it just won't work. It keeps telling me I can't delete it because it has a too long files name. The files inside the folder are AECACHE-files which are from Adobe After Effects. Well it seems for some reason Win 10 removed my folder with all my work in it and also changed the folder and file permissions on that drive during installation. Nov 3, 2015I had the Windows 10 install files in $WINDOWS.~BT and $Windows.~WS totalling >5GB. A few days ago I decided to also download the Windows 10 ISO.
I've now found that the 5GB+ installation files have been deleted.
I'd like to have both options regarding the upgrade and so would like to re-download the installation files. How do I get them re-downloaded?
If I click the Get Windows 10 icon the only option is Upgrade Now, not what I want - unless that will initiate a download and then give me the option of not starting the actual upgrade.
File Explorer Files Cannot Be Deleted Says No Longer There
Feb 2, 2016I am running File Explorer in Windows 10 and it displays some files and folders In a portable (F) that I cannot delete. When I try it says "This is no longer located in F:. I have hit F5 to refresh, rebooted and even ran defrag to eliminate this problem. It does show a file size for the files located in these folders. I have also installed LockHunter software to delete these folders and files; it didn't work. It says "no processes locking this file have been found", and "Cannot delete file..." I have another program called Directory Lister that also finds these files. I also have tried accessing them using C Prompt, which will display the folders and files but cannot be used to delete them.

Deleted Files Keep Coming Up In Start Menu Search Results?
Feb 10, 2016Many times when I search from the Start Menu, results come up for files that have been deleted or moved but the old path is listed in the results (so that clicking it throws me a "File cannot be found" type error).
I first noticed this when I moved a folder of PDF manuals to a new location. The titles of these files will come up when searching from the Start Menu but the paths are linked to the original locations and so Windows can't "find" the file when I click on it in the search results.
I did a CCleaner sweep of my system and even tried rebuilding the search index but cannot correct this nonsense. What's going on?

Dec 16, 2015Using my laptop (alienware 15 R2) as normal, when my Bluetooth mouse suddenly stops working. I tried new batteries and even tried to pair it again, nothing. I type Bluetooth into the search/ Cortana bar and all it pulls up is 'Airplane Mode' settings. Under that is a toggle to turn on/ off wifi and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth option is set to off and greyed out, so I cant change it. At this point I try to reboot the computer. It tells me that it is completing new windows updates, so thinking this is the problem.
Upon rebooting the computer, mouse still does not work. Now when I look for Bluetooth settings, they are simply gone. There is no listing for Bluetooth under devices or even under the airplane mode as I mentioned above, it is simply gone. I tried going to dell and downloading a new driver, still nothing. I am back to using my old faithful Logitech wired mouse now.
I looked at the windows update history for today 12/16/15 and it lists two windows defender updates that were successfully installed and 11 failed installs of "Upgrade to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586"

Nov 4, 2015I waited for Windows 10 to get rid of Windows .old and Windows.~BT folders but it never happened. If the scheduled task for disk cleanup is supposed to do it I discovered the task will only run on my laptop when I am plugged into power and only if the system is idle. That does not happen very often on this laptop.
So I decided to use the disk cleanup app built into Windows to remove previous operating systems and installation files. It got rid of the Windows.~BT folder and emptied the Windows.old file of everything except one folder within Windows.old for something in folder AMD64_prnLx00.inf..... and file Lxktptprc.dll.mui. I can not delete or rename it and I have the correct privileges. This laptop has dual boot with Windows 8.1 on one side and Windows 10 now on the other. Windows 10 upgraded my W7Pro side over a month ago.
I got all my space back but would like to know if there is a way to finally remove the Windows.old folder.
