View 7 RepliesIn the latest builds (from 10158 to 10162) the option to install Apps in Sd card is blocked. Whether it's only for these builds or will also be blocked in the final win 10 release.
View 2 RepliesI know it's not possible to move/install metro apps on sd card in win 8.1 but i want to know if it possible in win 10 insider preview. If yes, do i have to move them manually or can i assign the sd card as default install location.
View 2 RepliesAfter I upgraded from Win 8.1,
1. Ashampoo programs would not find my (Conexant SmartAudio 221) sound card - Ashampoo looking into this promising a fix after diagnostics - but for weeks now.
2. Audacity would not run beyond v 2.03 (which is reported by others on their forum).
That was 32 bits.
I tried a clean install, 64 bits, and to my surprise, no problem with Ashampoo progs or Audacity 2.1.1.
I'll be using my 32 bit installation whilst I slowly configure the 64 bit version for quite a while.
Other than clean booting, and trying to identify possible conflicts, is there any more specific area I could look at? I have quite a lot of multimedia programs installed.
I have installed Windows10 on a Gateway FX530 desktop PC. All has gone well with one exception. The OS seems to recognize that there is a card reader attached, I can see them through Device manager. When I insert a SD card the system completely ignores the device and will not allow me to access it. I have tried to change the drivers, without success. This card reader worked just fine with Windows 7 Pro and there was no indication that they would not work with Windows 10 when I ran the upgrade test.
View 2 RepliesI have tried inserting my card into slot, I get message, connect a device and try again.it wont read the card.
View 1 RepliesI cannot install anything from Windows Store. It will down load normally & then fail with error 80073DOA. Updates to Apps also fail to install with the same error. I have run wreset ( several times) but still no joy. Date & Time Zone are correct.
Windows Firewall must be enabled to allow the Store to Update & Install!
Found this by accident. I was running the Firewall that came with Norton Security. Why this is a requirement I don't know. Disabling the Norton Firewall was easy but there was no option to turn the windows Firewall back on as Norton had taken over so I went into Services & did it from there. All working fine now ))
Any apps I try and update attempt to install, but stay at 0.0mb downloaded, then it stops and produces this error: The happens with every app.
I read on some other forums on why this may be happening and someone suggested that it was because I had changed the permissions to the WindowsApps (C:Program FilesWindowsApps) folder so that I could view the files within it. Yes, I did try and change the permissions so I could edit the files within (I couldn't), just for fun and to see if it'd make any differences, so that is what I assume the problem is.
After learning this I tried to reset the permissions, how to, so I tried to replicate the permissions from a clean unaltered WindowsApps folder and it didn't work, no matter what I did. Windows Update doesn't even seem to fix it either.
So is there any way other than reinstalling windows to get the App Store working again?
Installing apps from appstore and keep a local account?
View 8 RepliesInstalling Java on my (fairly) new Windows 10 64-bit machine. On my previous version of Windows (Windows 7 64-bit), I had Java (32 bit and 64 bit) installed, and it worked perfectly. However, I can not get it to install on my current machine, no matter what I do?
I downloaded the offline installer for Java 32 bit, and 64 bit, from the manual download page: Java Downloads for All Operating Systems. Upon trying to run the 32 bit installer (which you are supposed to install first), nothing appeared to happen. So I left it for about 20 minutes, and found it still wasn't doing anything when I came back. So I brought up my task manager to check if anything was running in the background, and found "Java Platform SE Binary (32 bit)" running there. As it appeared to be doing nothing, I ended it, and tried running it again, only for the same thing (nothing) to happen.
I then tried the 64 bit installer, thinking maybe something had changed, and Windows 10 just didn't need the 32 bit version (upon later research finding that this is an incorrect assumption on my part). Same story with the 64 bit installer as well.
Frustrated, I tried to search my computer, to see if it had added anything. There were no new program entries, and no Java section in my Control Panel, but there was a new folder in my Appdata, LocalLow, called "Oracle," containing a Java folder, with a "jre1.8.0_65.msi" file.
I tried to run the MSI file, but got the following message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I tried their official support on this matter: Error 1721: There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. But none of the listed steps, even all used in conjunction, did anything.
I also tried their online installer, rather than the offline one (even though I need to use the offline ones in the end, because I need 64 bit), and it had the same issues.
In short, I run the installer, and nothing happens, no window, no errors, it just runs in the background indefinitely. I have tried installing in safe-mode, verifying/repairing my system files, running the installer in all available compatibility modes and as administrator, turning off my firewall and anti-virus softwares, and nothing has worked thus far.
I upgraded an HP Desktop which had Windows 7 Home Premium OEM installed to Windows 10. Everything seemed to go well. When I checked in Device Manager, I found my HP Printer drivers were not working. So, I tried to update them, no luck. I then went to the HP website and downloaded the new full feature software for my HP printer, which installed in the default download folder. When I tried to open the downloaded folder, a pop-up window came up asking Where I want to install this. I tried Internet Explorer, didn't work. Then another pop-up window came up with the download file in it, titled "View downloads-Internet Explorer." I click on open, then the first window pop-up opens again, "Where do you want to install this." I also, tried to download something else, same problem. I changed User Control Setting to never notify. I ran System File Checker. Still the same problem, will not install any download.

So I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and I can't seem to install any apps from the store, there is no Install button? I click on an app(facebook for example), the facebook app page loads but no Install button appears. Also the blue loading dots just keep spinning.
I've tried everything from wsreset.exe to cleaning out the C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution folder. I've also tried refreshing the pc and deleting and re creating the user account with no success.
When I attempt to install Photoshop 6 I can go no further than clicking on Photoshop 6 at the install button. I receive no messages etc. My CD drive is OK as I have loaded heaps of other progs.
View 7 RepliesI've installed windows 10 a few days ago but when I go to the store app. there is no install button showing. I've tried the wsreset.exe as some people have suggested on other sites but nothing has changed.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to install iTunes 12.2.1 on Windows 10 Pro. During installation I get two errors, I believe they are connected. I am running this as Administrator from a User account. I have also tried running it with Windows 7 compatibility checked, same result.
This is the first error:
The installation continues for a little bit, then it throws this error:
At this point the installation fails.
My brother is in an identical situation; both of us have identical machines, upgraded from Windows 7 (where iTunes worked) to Windows 10, did a system refresh, and encountered this problem. Installing either version 11 or 10.7 do not throw either of these errors, however upon launch, it said it was not installed properly and would need to be reinstalled.
When installing a software, I keep getting an error like the attached pictured
My PC is Win 10 64
The Program to run is in 32 bit
Java 32 is installed
Java was tested using Explorer browser
I reinstalled windows 10 pro fresh and now i cant install any program of the internet. I tried everything but it doesn't work. It always said that 'cant connect to download center' .
I remembered that i was able to install opera for some reason. That program and steam. Maybe it has something to do with my hard drive cause when I tried to install skype it didn't automatically set to my hard drive.
I have DX 10 and I'm on WINDOWS 10 PRO . When I try to upgrade to another newer version of directx its not letting me saying something like there is no need to install .
View 5 RepliesI am unable to install the .NET Framework 3.5 on my Windows 10 box. I tried enabling it through Programs and Features, I tried enabling and installing through DISM, I tried SFC /scannow. Everything is failing. Mostly I get error code 0x800736B3 saying that "The referenced assembly is not installed on your system". Sometimes I get Error 14003. I obviously need .NET due to many apps needing it to run. This is a brand new system. What can I try?
View 9 RepliesI tried everything that can be found on the internet, i tried to download from microsoft website, no luck, tried the offline install with the win 10 installer, nothing worked.

View 2 RepliesSo I'm currently running Win8.1 on a 1TB HDD, and I have a built-in 32GB SSD in my laptop. I would like to install Win10 and a few other apps on the SSD, and keep all of my documents/non-essential apps on my HDD. Are there any hurdles I will have to jump to get this to work? (Essential apps = Chrome, Zune, Groove Music, Photoshop CS6, OneDrive, Xbox, MS Edge [though I assume Edge is part of the OS install]). I assume that W10 is going to be around 16GB, and all of these apps should be able to fit on the drive along with it, as I don't really plan on loading any others aside from FL Studio 12 and Office if I have space.
View 1 RepliesI was having some problems with Windows Store
First of all
I got error 0x800072efe
Looked all over the Internet. Finally fixed it.
Then started getting error 0x80070005. And no matter what it couldn't be fixed. So I decided to uninstall Store using 10AppsManager and I also deleted all Microsoft.WindowsStore packagefamily folders.
I tried every solution available on Internet but none worked. This was one of them Restore and reinstall Windows Store in Windows 10 after removing with PowerShell.
I don't want to do a system rest as it'll result in losing all my programs I had installed since Windows 8. Never did a reset.
I have a new HP Envy 17t with Windows 10 64 bit. I have been installing various bits of software that I need to have. However, with some applications I get a strange error pop up, first a window telling me that the application is from an unknown source then, when I click OK, to continue, another window pops up, this one:
This has happened twice in the last 24 hours. Once when I tried to install a windows application so that I can root my Lenovo android tablet and then again when I wanted to install a media converter app.
I have the latest versions of both applications, I made sure they both were made for Windows 10 64 bit, but Windows 10 won't install them.
This window trying to install HP Support Assistant pops up every time I restart my laptop, but, only since I have upgraded to Windows 10.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP Support Assistant and I can pull it up, and it is running right now. I've tried MSCONFIG, and CCLEANER and cannot find any "run on startup" that might be doing this.
