View 1 RepliesI access my Outlook.com email through the Windows 10 Mail app - this is the same Microsoft Account that I sign into my laptop with.
When I Right-Click on the Junk Folder and click on "Empty Folder", as I would so in Outlook or on Outlook.com, I am presented with the below error:
I then have to select each message individually and then hit the Delete key to delete the messages in there.
Is there any way to delete all mail, delete all junk (folder) , empty trash with one click as in ie11?
View 8 RepliesA good friend of mine went ahead and updated from Win 7 to win 10 without backing up anything (despite my objections) and now has windows live mail but any of his old email messages are gone. I would suspect they are in the windows. Old folder in .app but not sure. Does windows 10 store the emails in the .app file like win 7? I am using Win 7 and will upgrade once I know that everything is working with 10.
View 3 RepliesI have 2 accounts set up in Mail for Windows 10. One is Yahoo, the other Comcast. When I first updated, the mail app worked fine. It would send and receive messages to and from both accounts. After a couple of days, the app stopped receiving messages. It will send, but not receive, from either account. I checked all the settings, tried to search the web for similar issue. ?
View 11 RepliesMy Win 10 Mail has stopped receiving messages it sends them to the server (Bigpond) but nothing has come through in the last 10 hours and at least 30 mails are on the server.
View 1 RepliesTesters have been complaining for months - but the Mail app that comes with Windows 10 does not give you the ability to empty your trash or your spam.
View 1 RepliesI've upgraded my HP Envy Ultrabook with preinstalled Windows 8 to Windows 10 about a month ago. All works enough smoothly - except the intrinsic Windows Mail & Calendar apps. They don't sync their contents automatically, even with my main Microsoft account linked to my Outlook.com email!
I tried different mailbox sync settings ("as items arrive", "every 15 minutes", etc.) - nothing works. I tried to disconnect my local account from Microsoft account, and even created a new user from scratch - no result again.
The auto-sync also does not work for other mail accounts, not only for Outlook.com. Sometimes I even get the following error when trying to sync manually .....
I just went to use the Mail app in Windows 10 for the first time and noticed that a lot of my emails are being displayed in a weird way, mostly with images. Most notably with youtube emails:
Ex. 1 : (personal info has been 'oranged' out). n entire third of the screen is being used by a single line of text (also some words at the bottom of the email) that should really just be directly beneath the 'YouTube' logo banner.
This problem is exacerbated when the app is made smaller with window mode. Is this just normal for the Mail app, or is there a way to make emails and images display 'correctly'?
Under the Network tab of File Explorer, I can see three entries, one of which is my router (with attached Hard Drive) and two computers, each running Windows 10. When I expand the router entry, I can see my hard drive files. I can also see my Users icons when I expand one of the computer's tabs. However, when I click on the other computer's name to search for users, all I see is a message that "This folder is empty". In fact, the folder is not empty, as there are two users on the computer. How I can get this computer to show users, etc.?
View 6 RepliesI might be clueless about onedrive syncing and access, but why is my onedrive folder on my laptop empty?
Is there way I could link/sync it with my Microsoft account so when I open onedrive on my laptop (file explorer) so it displays what I have on the "online onedrive"?
I hardly see the point of the onedrive on the PC if it cannot show what's already stored on onedrive (I have a bunch of stuff from my windows phone saved on onedrive)...
My OS is Windows 10. I have been using MS Office Outlook for my email. I've used it for years. A few weeks ago I decided to try gmail so I set up an account. I did not give anyone my gmail address but for some reason I started to get a lot of my email from friends who have my Outlook address. I even got some of the junk mail on gmail. I then shut down my gmail account as I don't like it. Then I noticed that I wasn't getting much email. So I opened my gmail account and there were dozens of email messages there. Here's my problem. I want to close my gmail account but then I'll miss all of the messages that will go there. My question is. How can I stop messages from going to the gmail?
View 6 RepliesWhenever I login to my Lenovo laptop (which goes straight to desktop) I always have 5 open windows - this can be seen by alt-tab'ing.
Two of these (spotify and skype) are clickable, the other three are not named and do not have an icon or thumbnail that you can click on. The only option is to get rid of these 3 windows (by clicking the big X at the top right hand side of each window). If you choose not to close them, they will remain there whenever you switch (alt tab) between windows.
-How can I find out what these windows are?
-How can I ensure that they are no longer they when I reboot by machine?
So, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI refuse to believe that Microsoft would have omitted this basic function. How does one Import from Windows Live Mail into the Windows 10 Mail App?
View 6 Replieshow to change the desktop background (which is curiously located in a completely different menu outside of the control panel!) and tried to choose a local folder with pictures in it, Windows somehow thinks the folder is empty.
Now, when I go to that folder in Explorer, it's full of pictures. They are all jpgs and are the same pictures that populate my synced theme, just more of them than are allowed to fit in a synced theme. I can't understand why this folder is coming up empty when choosing a slideshow when it has tons of pictures.
I use Windows 10 Mail on my PC. I simply cannot find the way to create new folders where I can move my e-mails according to different subjects/topics from the Inbox. I think Mail is OK.
View 1 RepliesI have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?
View 4 RepliesI just downloaded Windows 10 today. I can't see any icons, desktop, find the start menu or anything else. I read it does dual-monitors but I can't figure out how to switch when I can't see anything. I have an Alienware computer. Should I call Dell or talk to Microsoft support? The picture isn't clear but that's my desktop.
View 6 RepliesSuddenly today I started my PC and got bootmgr missing error. Tried scan disk and bootrec commands to fix to no avail. Used a repair disc and ran startup repair but nothing works. I went to option to reset the PC and it is showing two versions of windows. One says"Windows 10" and the other "Windows 10 Home". Don't understand what happened here. This is a week after the latest build update and my PC was running fine up to this point.

View 1 RepliesWhile I am composing an E-Mail in Win Live Mail 2012 in Win 10, It will go into the drafts folder before I have sent it.I have to open the draft folder to copy and paste it to the message folder. How do I prevent the E-Mail messages I am composing from going to the draft folder?
View 1 RepliesWhen I printscreen and paste it on Paint it always paste the windows default themes not the one the I paste.
View 8 RepliesI've use Live Mail for years and use a saved folder for, well for things I want to save. I cannot figure out how to migrate Live folders to W10 Mail.
In Live mail I have the option to block spammers or block their domain. I cannot find either of these actions in W10 Mail. I don't want to just send email to the junk mail folder, but if that does the same thing I guess it is OK.
I need to know if I cannot set up a Saved folder so I can copy things I need like authorizations and SNs to another folder (not OneDrive) I don't care to share my personal stuff with MS.
I can always use webmail if I need to, Live has just been convenient. This is what happened when people fix things that are not broken!
Since upgrading to Win 10, I have noticed that with most (but not all) system shutdowns and restarts, it result in a nice red X with the 'Windows was not properly shut down" Clicking on it gives no clues, just says "The previous shutdown at [time] on [date] was unexpected.
There is no other indication other than what the Reliability Monitor reports. I would not even be aware there was an issue. The PC starts as normal with no errors on every boot.
There is an update available for windows update. But when i try windows shows no updates found with an error code 8024402F ... Why am I not getting an update for Windows 10?
