View 2 RepliesWhen I boot up my computer (to windows 10). It will do the Asus splash screen then instead of going straight to windows if does this black screen with the kinda terminal thing (with no writing/text) then goes on to windows. Does this affect my computer?
View 1 RepliesThe Windows store won't open and I'm not sure what to do when i click on it, the splash screen pops up for half a second then disappears as if I never opened it, however it used to work. I've tried running commands in the powershell, scanned my computer, cleared the cache, and when I used the store troubleshooter it said that I needed a microsoft account, although I had signed into my computer (and the store before).
View 1 RepliesWhen I open the app store, the splash screen comes up and then just disappears and nothing ever happens.
View 24 RepliesIf I am away from my computer for a few minutes, then come back, Windows Store or any other windows app, such as Photos, is open.
View 2 RepliesI recently installed my windows10. Yesterday it was all working but now windows store wouldn't open for like 1sec then closes immediately and also other apps wouldn't open and prefer going to windows store.
View 1 RepliesI had finished updating the Windows Store app on my laptop, usually after the update, store immediately closed itself, and wait for about 5 minutes, and finished ...
But why, I now want to reopen it always force close? Only up splash screen, without error code, and force close
There is a solution other than in reset?
Recently I had to clone my HDD cause it was dying. After that I had a problem with start menu, notifications, search bar not working anymore, but I've managed to repair that. (here's the topic : Start menu, search, notifications not working; Dism not working (error 0x800f081f); etc ...)
Only problem left is Windows Store not working anymore (it autoclose itself as soon I launch it). Mail & Calendar apps show as @{microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps.blablabla}
When I use WSReset.exe, I have an error message saying "ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches, app cannot be opened" or something like that.
I have tried to register Windows Apps again with Powershell command. sfc /scannow dont find any problems. Dism /restorehealth don't change anything.
When I create a new account, It doesnt work either, it is just a bit different as it show me a pop up saying that it was not able to open windows store and that i should ask my admin.
I've tried to upgrade 10 to 10, but the install stucked @ 71% ...
I CAN'T refresh the computer, as I have applications projects with too much dependencies and it will be too much to reinstall everything. Everything else is working OK, and windows store is less important than the rest, but if I can repair it, it's great.
Oh, and I forgot to say that when I disconnect from my account, I have a LoginUI.exe error maybe it's related to that, i don't know, so I tell u about it too.
Yesterday my Windows Store is working, but can't download or update any apps in Windows Store.
After I turned off the PC for a few of hours then I open up the Windows Store and I get the error..
Screenshot:
I already did Windows Update troubleshooter and its doesn't find any problem.
I can get Steam to launch, but only after having the PC be in sleep mode. I can't get Steam to start with Windows 10 either. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted the blob files and various other things several times. No clue what the issue is.
View 7 RepliesAll Windows Store apps that I have fail when they are automatically updated. Here's what I just got in my event log.
Event ID 20 - Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070002: OneNote.
When I go into the Store and look at the update it shows the update as having had a problem. I can click on the spinner icon which downloads and installs the app so all is not lost.
I don't have any other problems with Windows Update. Other than Store apps they all automatically install just fine. I've seen lots of various solutions for WU problems but I haven't found one specifically for Windows Store updates. I'm hesitant to try one of these solutions since WU works fine except for Store apps as I mentioned.
Recently I have downloaded the bookwalker pc application on my pc. Whenever I double click on the icon on my desktop or try to run it as admin, my cursor would show that its loading but the app never launches. The specs of the bookwalker pc app clearly states that it is compatible with windows 10, and yet it would not launch.
Here's the link to bookwalker for ref: [URL] ....
Every time I open the Store and look for a video app called Pressplay and click on it, the Store will simply close down and then I'm back on the desktop. This happens everytime. Is this a common problem or could it have anything to do with the specific app I'm looking for?
View 1 RepliesI'm running the RTM build on my tablet and the Store and Movies and TV apps crash on launch. I've tried restarts but they're not working.
View 1 RepliesOK, I recently 'upgraded' my windows 7 to windows 10. It was working fine since Christmas, then today it just freezes on the windows 10 splash screen, which as I'm sure you can guess is incredibly annoying.
View 4 RepliesI have recently updated my desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. For some reason, File explorer seems unable to show metadata. For example, here is what File Explorer shows for one example powerpoint file:
I created this file on this same desktop before the upgrade, and it has a bunch of metadata including category, subject, author, etc. Since it's in a google drive folder, I can compare this with what I see on my Win10 laptop:
As you can see, the file itself has a full complement of metadata, it's just not showing up properly in File Explorer on my desktop.
I'd like to figure out what setting is incorrect on my desktop that's causing this, if possible. I should add that all of this information showed up correctly in the Windows 7 details pane on the desktop before I upgraded, so I presume it's a setting that somehow got changed during the upgrade.
I have win 10 pro installed on my dell e6410. When I start my laptop I see very bright blank white splash screen for 2 seconds during the boot process. The sequence is as folows:
1- I press start button and it powers up
2- Windows 10 logo screen appears
3- Very bright white splash screen appears for 2 seconds(This is not normal as i don't see it on work computer which also have windows 10 pro )
4- Then Windows 10 login screen appears and then everything normal.
How to get rid of appearance of this very bright white splash screen which appears during boot process as it is very annoying when you work in dark environment.
Only way to launch them is searching for them in app store and tapping open. Have latest version of windows 10 on my surface pro 4.
View 2 RepliesI don't know if I changed a setting or what but I can't get Windows to show me the Lock Screen. I have it like this. I put it in Slideshow with a custom folder where I keep all my wallpapers. is a slideshow lockscreen settings in one side, a normal savescreen setting in another. If I had to set my screen to turn off after a certain time or not. I just want the frickin lockscreen to start whenever, let's say, 30 min have passed. Only thing I get it's my screen turned off.
View 1 RepliesAfter successfully installing Win 10 it ran without any issues for about 1 day then Edge refused to launch, the splash screen opens for about 10 seconds and then disappears. The only change made to Edge was to import bookmarks from IE. Unsure where to start looking for an answer.
View 13 RepliesI have a desktop that I ran the update on from windows 7 up to windows 10. When I go to shutdown on this system it appears to begin the shutdown process. However, after a few moments with black screens and appearing to have shut down, the PC near turns off and shows the BIOS splash screen and begins to start windows up again.
I have tried various troubleshooting options on the internet though only resulting in - a screen every time I "shut down" that tells me that there has been an error and that the computer must restart, even though I was shutting it down in the first place... It also tells me that there is an error named "apple.sys" possibly causing the problem. The computer then restarts fine every time after that point though the only possible way of me shutting the computer down is manually holding the shut down button on my pc case. Then once I power up after that my computer fails to give power to my keyboard and mouse, to which I must then reset the BIOS every single time and then restart. This is the only way I can turn my pc back on after every time I manually power down - resetting the BIOS to bring power to my accessories. I dont really want to keep doing this every single night and plus I figure it must be bad for my pc.
I am now wondering if a clean install is my only option, or if there is some other way of keeping windows 10… just having it work properly.
I just bought this new ASUS K550J laptop and came with Windows 8.1 with it but I wanted to install Windows 10, fresh install. I did the usual things needed for installation and it was ok but it takes too long to boot up. Here is a video of what am I speaking. It's UEFI and I think it's the Windows Boot Manager, how can I reset it?
Code:
Windows Boot Manager--------------------identifier {bootmgr}device
partition=DeviceHarddiskVolume2path
EFIMicrosoftBootbootmgfw.efidescription
Windows Boot Managerlocale
[Code] .....
Make an APP start at boot no splash screen in systray, I don't mind editing my registry as i have done for many other reasons in the past...
View 4 RepliesYesterday I got a notification that my windows 10 upgrade was ready on my MSI GT60-0NE laptop and decided to give it a try because I really disliked windows 8.1. Windows update went through downloading the files and preparing the computer for installation. It then did the usual, configuring updates on the blue screen, got to 100% and just shut down completely. I left it there for about 5 minutes and decided to try to power it back on. When turning the computer back on, it stayed on for about a minute and then cut itself back off.
After waiting a minute it turned back on, then back off again. It kept repeating this for about 5 minutes. During this phase I saw absolutely nothing on the screen, no MSI loading splash screen, no cursor, absolutely nothing at all. I couldn't enter the BIOS, couldn't run recovery or even get into safe mode. Absolutely nothing worked. The battery light was also flashing blue which I had never seen before. During this time the hard drive light was flashing and flickering the usual red light.
I did a hard reset on the computer and then turned it back on. When i powered it back on the screen was still completely blank, no MSI splash screen, no cursors, couldn't enter the BIOS or anything. During this time the hard drive light was a steady red. The blue battery light was no longer there and it was back to its usual constant red light. After about 10 minutes the computer turned itself off. Being frustrated I left it overnight and tried again this morning.
When I power the computer on now, there is no hard drive light. It doesn't even give a single flash of red. The computer will stay on but just stays there at the black screen. I've tried to look for solutions but I can't get anything to work. The only thing I can hear running is the fan.
I've tried to remove the hard drive and boot to see if I could get into bios, still a black screen.
I've tried removing the video card and booting to see if I could get anything through integrated graphics, still a black screen.
I've tried to plug the computer into another monitor, still a black screen but it does recognize the signal.
Specs for the GT60-0NE 403-US:
Intel Core i7 3630QM (2.40 GHz)
Nvidia GTX 680M (4GB)
Windows 8.1 64-bit (Windows 10 now?)
