For a particular program(Microsoft office/Driver Booster) it says "Windows cannot find <program path>.Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." even if it is installed properly.

When I search for an installed program most of the times it wont find it but instead it will show me to look it on the web. I believe that it has a connection with the fact that the menu "All apps" doesn't show all apps but only some of them.

As I have multiple retail license keys, I am unsure which one is in use right now.
There are 3rd party key finders that may show the key in use, but I prefer to obtain the key using Windows own tools, if possible. For instance using a CMD.(Am uncertain about these 'key finders': can they be trusted?)
So I have 1 SSD and 2 HDDs in my PC and I installed Windows 10 using the auto-install while I was sleeping. I just booted up using Win 10 for the first time and everything is super slow compared to Win 7. My SSD is my C: drive and I was using that for my OS drive but my old OS drive, a HDD also has Win 7 on it also. I didn't give much thought to which drive it would install to but now I am wondering, how do I check which drive it is running off without unplugging my drives 1 at a time?

View 1 RepliesI noticed the installation dates of about 12 programs and drivers have been changed to 24/12/15 in Control Panel / Programs & Features (see screen shot). I haven't made any changes and Reliability Monitor does not show any automatic updates. The programs still work.
View 3 RepliesI have installed Aome hdd manager on my W10 PC and laptop. On the PCs it appears in the start menu and also as an icon in the start menu.
But on the laptop it is not showing, have uninstalled and reinstalled and created a shortcut from the installed .exe file then chose pin to start menu, but still nothing ...
I just wonder why some of my apps are not listed there?! I also tried "apps and features" from settings and still some of my installed software don't show up there either!
Even tried with 3rd party uninstaller program (Revo) and still no trace of these installed software!
EX: Cubase, Photpshop, Premiere, etc
I've noticed now on multiple computers I've installed Windows 10 on, that a quick win-key search isn't able to bring up installed apps. I'm sure this isn't how it's meant to be, and that there must be a fix... right?

After win10 install, I finally found list of installed programs, and shows ad aware anti virus and private firewall both installed, but not finding them on task bar (or whatever its now called in lower right) tho ad aware Web Companion shows. how to see if they are actually working & maybe show an icon somewhere?

View 4 RepliesI have bought a Lenovo yoga 2 pro 2 weeks ago and upgraded win 8 to win 10 almost immediately. I have had this issue for some time, when I install some software. Some buttons are blocked or the text is too small. I have been having resolution problems as well which I solved by adjusting it but this issue doesn't go with changing it.

Just upgraded a laptop of a friend from Windows 8 to Windows 10....all went smoothly, except when starting up get the message Windows has not loaded correctly......with an error message DRV - possibly IRQ with a number which she couldn't write down quick enough
she he has tried the troubleshooting steps, but does not want to reset and lose apps or data....there is an option to recover back to Windows 8, but don't really want to do,this ' yet '
She was unable to get into safe mode, as I have read turning off fast boot can solve this issue, or perhaps a clean boot...
before upgrading she had had McAfee and avast installed, I planned to uninstall McAfee after the upgrade...
I did a true image backup first, so that is an option also...

I recently installed windows 10 on my HP stream 7 and after some driver updates everything works fine except for the store: it's just not there. Some apps came pre-installed and run normally, but some are shortcuts to downloads form the Windows Store and, when clicked, give me the pop-up message "You'll need a new app to open ms-windows-store."

System recovery to Asus factory default.
Asus has a default 4 Partition setup. I added a 5th, Partition 6, by shrinking Partition 4
Looks something like this:
Drive 0 Partition 3 128MB MSR (Reserved)
Drive 0 Partition 4 OS 395GB Primary
Drive 0 Partition 5 451MB Recovery
Drive 0 Partition 6 New Volume 48GB Primary
Drive 0 Partition 7 Restore 20GB Recovery
I'm using the new Build 10130 iso which just came out.I don't want to use a VM like I have on a Desktop.
I have got part way through the installation process and I received this message ..

This is a new install onto a new laptop with only FreeDos. How to get past this message.
I currently have windows 7 on my 1TB hard drive and have recently bought a new 256gb Crucial SSD (but not installed it in my desktop yet).
I bought the SSD to be able to install games onto it so they load quicker but also if possible to have my OS booting from it so my computer loads quicker from switching on.
Someone put me onto the idea of using a program called Steam Mover to be able to move games from my HDD to the SSD without having to uninstall them and then re-download them direct to the SSD. I understand this can also be used for other programs like photoshop etc too.
I want to upgrade to Windows 10 but don't want to have to do a clean install and lose all the programs that i currently have installed such as Photoshop, Office, iTunes etc. Is it possible to somehow upgrade my OS on my HDD but then actually boot from the SSD perhaps by using the Steam Mover program?
If not, do I just have to bite the bullet and accept that I will either lose or have to reinstall a number of programs to my HDD? I do have a second 1TB HDD which is empty at the moment in case its needed for cloning files?
I just updated my windows 7 to 10 but for the second time but now when I restart my PC it let me choose a operating system (2X windows 10 options).
If I select the right one my PC just starts but when i pick the other one its says i need to insert a usb/cd, so no OP system on there ?
How I can remove the second windows 10 on my PC?
I am trying to get the little Reserve Windows 10 icon to show up in the taskbar of the new laptop I purchased. After some hunting around, I saw that one of the updates which must be installed is KB2976978. However, it is not being listed on Windows Update, and is not in my list of installed updates either.
View 1 RepliesSo I am currently on the Windows Insider Preview builds and have been having some issues with them and decided that they aren't for me. I was trying to do an upgrade installation to get back onto stock Windows 10 without losing anything but any time I get the installer running I am not allowed to select the option to keep all my stuff because "Windows may be installed in an unsupported directory." I have looked around and it talks about changing the default program files directory in the registry and to revert that back, but I never did that tweak in the first place.

I have my system built but when i try to install windows 10 onto my kingston 120gb ssd its stops on 6% and it says in the bottom left that windows cant be installed to this disk the selected disk is of the GPT partition style i have never installed windows before...
