So I've run into problem, my 'A' key isn't being recognized by windows, even using the on screen keyboard doesn't work, it works if I do Shift+A but not just A by itself, I haven't changed anything.
I've tried unplugging, restarting pc, uninstalling drivers/software And I've tried All the Win key + Alt etc combinations And still nothing.
Ever since I've updated to Windows 10 which I love dearly there is this nagging issue that I'm having. I own a low profile Graphics Card that I would love to install the drivers for but for some reason I'm getting this error when trying to install the drivers. "The graphics driver could not find compatible hardware." I have the GPU in my motherboard but it will not recognized the darn thing.

I have changed my Microsoft Account password, but that didn't work. I have the local account and the Microsoft account on the computer. Neither one accepts the password. I am using Windows 10 on two other computers without any problem. getting the computer to recognize the password? I can't get past the login window to access anything.

View 1 RepliesAfter Windows 10 Update to 1511,10586 , none of the wired, network computers/drives are visible in the "Net Work" window. The network has One other, wired, computer and WDMyCloud Drive that are no longer visible.
Using the "Run" option, with addresses, I can access any computer or shared drive. File copy etc between computers works fine.
WakeOnLan reports that it cannot find the host computer, but it wakes it up anyway.
I have entered the credentials in Credential Manager and updated the drivers for my Realtek Ethernet card. Network Diagnosis finds no problems.
The problem exist,after the update, on both wired computers. I have tried two previous existing administrative users and one administrative user added after the update.
New Win10 Ent install. I have two LG phones (one is G4). When plugged in via USB, they show up in Device Manager, but not as a storage device to be browsed. Setting on phone is for media sharing. The show up on Windows 8.1.
View 1 RepliesI have once again run into a problem with W10, and it's getting very frustrating with all these errors and malfunctions that W10 has. The problem is that when I plug a USB-device in my computer, no sound is being played to signal that the USB-device has been recognized, and that really seems to be the case. I can't even use my mouse.
I believe the problem started after the latest update for Windows 10 which took place about one day ago. Otherwise what could cause this kind of error.
I have been also wondering if it is possible to downgrade my laptop back to Windows 8. Windows 10 is clearly a very unstable OS released in a hurry and I have encountered the most bizarre problems with it, including Sony Vegas Pro 13 not launching any more.
Unable to resize a batch of photos using the built-in Windows 10 resize feature with the Send To option:
1. Open a folder containing photos.
2. Select some photos.
3. Right-click selected photos and choose "Send to."
4. Click on "Mail Recipient" in the listed options in the pop-out menu.
5. Notice that the "Attach Files" dialogue box displays.
6. From the drop-down menu, I selected "Smaller: 640 x 480"
7. An estimate of the new total file size is given... press the Attach button.
8. Notice that the progress of the file re-size operation displays, "Preparing to send."
Receive error message, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action..."
Not true, I went into the Control Panel and associated the Windows 10 Mail program as the default email program. Please see attached screen shots as verification/clarification. Is there something I am missing? I am using Windows 10 Pro.

Originally the DVD drive would not show at all in File Explorer, despite Device Manager recognising, drivers up to date, etc. Dell diagnostics reported various feedback ranging from perfectly ok (SupportAssist, on-line smart diagnostic quick test) to failing some tests (on-line optical drive tests) and requiring attention (sadly, the attention it suggested I use was a 'fix' tool on the Microsoft website that would not run on Windows 10 operating platform so I have not been able to persue further)
Things improved a little after downloading and installing all of the urgent and recommended Dell updates, plus installing all of the Windows updates. Now the laptop shows the drive in File Explorer, and occasionally media is recognised and even played. For example, inserting an audio CD into the drive immediately after booting up will run autoplay and the tracks are displayed as expected in File Explorer.
However, subsequent CDs (or any other media) are not recognised. The drive 'acts' like it should (led goes on, whirring sound made, etc) but nothing happens. File Explorer displays whatever the previous media contents were.
So for example, if I insert an audio CD with 10 tracks immediately after booting, the CD will autoplay and the 10 tracks will display in File Explorer. Everything seems fine. If I then eject this CD, and put in an audio CD with 5 tracks, File Explorer will continue to display the 10 tracks from the first CD. The new CD wont autoplay. Its basically not recognised.
This is quite frustrating because it means I have to reboot every time I want to change media.
I have attempted to download windows 10 around 4/5 times, the download completes and states that my computer needs to restart upon which it claims it is configuring the windows 10 upgrade. I would assume from this point it would restart into the windows 10 configuration however each time I have tried it it restarts back into windows 8 as if nothing had happened.
My laptop then opens up windows update and says I am able to download windows 10. This is really frustrating as I can't even seem to get into the windows 10 setup.
As you can see I am attempting to download again but there is no trace at all of it attempting to install windows other than this failed update that you can see here.
I am using an HP Pavillion 15-n268a laptop.
I just noticed in the Task Manager a while ago that "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process" under "Background Processes" was running at about 50% of CPU constantly. I did some research and found out that this only seems to happen when Windows Media Player is running. It seems to happen even when Windows Media Player is not doing anything, when it's not even scanning for new media. When I close Windows Media Player, the "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process" CPU usage drops immediately to 0%.

On Window 8.1. Boosted the install which a lot of people are doing by clearing SoftwareDistribution/Download and running the cmd prompt.
Downloaded the Windows 10 update, as soon as the Preparing to Install dialogue was done, the computer restart, trying to install a normal Windows 8.1 update instead.
Once I am booted up again, I get this error [URL] .... and try the fix.
Once I try and redownload the update again, it skips to 100%, then fails the update with the error 80070643 being reported.
Since Windows 10 preview, I've had really weird Explorer behavior. Sometimes, when I click a directory, Explorer will open two instances of it in two new windows, in addition to the already-open window that I was clicking from. This happens at random with different folders, usually ones that are sub-folders of folders on the desktop.
There's no rhyme or reason, and I'm not accidentally double-clicking. I have my folder options set to single-click open and windows open in the same window. I've also reset my folder options and this problem has not changed.
I've even reset the computer and still experience this issue, so it's not a lingering bug from the preview, I don't think. I'm not on the preview any more.
Before installing Windows 10 I clean reinstalled my Windows 7 onto a new SSD but inadvertently left my BIOS boot drive as my old HDD. Now I find that I have my windows 10 boot files in the HDD and the rest of the OS on the SSD, so I am still dependant on that old HDD. It's quite old, and I tried to swap it out to a new HDD but found this issue.
I've tried BootRec /RebuildBcd, BootRec /FixMbr and BootRec /FixBoot, rebooting the PC between each, but without success. I want to make the SSD bootable, what have I missed?
It is really hard to write this as the title says green with green text, anyhow, I upgraded win 7 and my primary account on win 10 is fine, but this 2nd user account, IE11 comes up with a green background, the search bar is green lettering, in fact this area here where I am typing the message is green with green text. What is going on?
I have tried changing the colors from default, I have tried updating the graphics card and nothing seems to work. One lead I thought I had was that this 2nd account was encrypted, but in the settings it doesn't seem to be.
I always install windows by this simple way and I have no problem so far. I extract iso file into one of drive with winrar. For windows 7 and 8 run setup.exe in the root drive and follow steps until that step I want select drive. If I want to replace windows, select windows drive and if I want have Dual Boot select other drive. Boot menu automatically is creating and is include two or more windows that I installed. For windows 8.1 and 10 because I can't select drive by run setup.exe in root folder, I run setup.exe into sources folder like you. Just two issues. One that windows 64 bit can't run into windows 32 bit and two that older version can't install by way of newer version. But Except two issues for other cases is best. Now I want to know your Opinion for this. is this way correct for installing windows?

In other versions of windows, when I get a message like "are you sure you want to delete" or some such thing, I get a nice pop-up to answer. However, Windows 10 seems to be hiding this message in a windows below file explorer. I proceed to perform a number of operations and begin wondering why the system is not responding, when actually, the %complete and other messages are all consolidated in this pop-under windows. I know it installs what it needs when I connect, so I figured I'd uninstall Java and let it set up again when I connected. I recently upgraded my CPU, Motherboard, Ram, and HDD to SSD. I upgraded my genuine copy of windows 8.1 to windows 10 about 3 weeks prior. I didn't want to install windows 8 all over again only to then have to update to windows 10 right after. So I just cloned my HDD onto my SSD. It worked fine for a day, but now its telling me I need to activate windows.
What do I do, is there any way to activate without having to reinstall windows 8 then upgrade to windows 10? I know my windows 8 product key will not work.
the looks are terrible... they are white, the startup menu is shit to as is the taskbar if there's anything I can do about those I would love to know... I may have to use my windows 7 restore disk to rescue me from this horse shit... I may have actually paid NOT to have this, but Ive spent so much time trying to configure it I figured I might as well try a bit more...
