i upgraded my computer to windows 10 yesterday , all is fine except one problem
i keep getting random pop up windows as if something is installing in the background

I used to have a gadget on my desktop that would open and close my dvd drive which was very convenient for me as I can't easily reach the button while sitting in my chair (and if I stretch, I CAN take out or put in a disc),Is there an app in Windows 10 will do that?
View 3 RepliesAll my apps open momentarily and then close. The only exception seems to be the browsers. I can go through file explorer and open the files that way, but not by clicking on the desktop app boxes.
View 2 RepliesI have this weird issue that started when I upgraded to Windows 10. Whenever I open a program or in some cases an explorer window my mouse will freeze up for about half a second, as if the hard drive is bottle necked very briefly. I have two drives in my laptop, an SSD and a regular 750 GB hard drive. My mouse will freeze regardless of the drive that the program that is being opened is located on. This also occurs with a few specific explorer and Windows related tasks.
For example, when closing the task manager or emptying the recycling bin, the mouse does this freezing action, and while this is not a super serious issue it is rather irritating and sometimes the mouse will freeze even if there is no warrant for it. I could be simply browsing the web and it will lock up for a second. Looking at the task manager, there the HDD activity only goes up to 40-50% in some cases, so it is very annoying since there seems to be no apparent cause for this behaviour.
I have no reason to believe my drives are failing since they both check out just fine in benchmark and diagnostic programs such as AS SSD, CrystalDiskInfo and HDTune, I'm just really eager to know what could cause these mini mouse freezes. I don't believe it's a total system lock up since I could be playing music in the background and the music won't stop playing.
I am using nokia lumia 720 after windows 10 installation apps are opening and closing...
View 2 RepliesI just downloaded Windows 10 yesterday night and after using it for the first time this morning, I decided to try out Microsoft Edge. Whenever I open it from the app section or the bottom tab section, it shuts down automatically after two seconds. I don't so much as get an error message, it just closes as if I pressed the close button. However, when I ask Cortana to open up some sort of search, then the window works and stays open.
View 9 RepliesA friend of mine recently upgraded to Windows 10 with the free upgrade, and his Cortana randomly opens up to the point that he can't type properly.
He's tried disabling Cortana, stopping WSearch service, ending SearchUI.exe, etc.
Nothing is working...
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop. Anytime I use a video app or service (the official movie & tv app, Netflix, YouTube in the browser) the video controls constantly open on their own.
View 4 RepliesThis began when I was having issues with my headset and I decided to just uninstall all of my sound drivers, I manually installed my headset drivers and Windows installed the rest on it's own. I then found out it was just the usb port so I plugged my headset into a different one and all was good there...
The problem now is that the sound in my monitor(TV) will randomly just stop working and videos will start to stutter unless I switch to a different playback device, even when I go to do that the sound window takes a long time to open and can be unresponsive.
Uninstalling the driver and restarting my computer fixes all of these problems momentarily but they inevitably come back.
Few days ago I realized my Google Chrome was having issue with Shockwave flash. I got a popup saying there was an issue and it would not respond. Then I tried firefox and got same issue. I tinkered around with flash, removed and re installed it however when I attempted to play a flash video online, it displayed only a picture and not play video.
So I attempted to play a WMV file on my computer and that too ended up freezing and slowed my system down where I had to exit out of media player. I ran Malware and Virus scans, and I dont seem to have any issues there unless I missed something. Also, I did hear something about Flash being replaced by html5 soon.
When ever I walk away from the computer for a little while, when I return all more programs have closed. I'm not sure what minimum amount of time passes before this happens but after an hour it's always displays this behavior.
View 6 RepliesEvery time i restarting Windows 10 by button RESTART from START in next boot i have Automatic Repair. On next boot i am able to boot fine to Windows 10. Event viewer showing that system was not closed properly, but it was closed properly. Software or hardware related?

I've decided that I would like to dual boot Windows 10 TP (I know im late to the game)
Now ive done dual booting before, but I was wondering if its any different, as my system has change to include a SSD which just has windows 7 and a HDD with my files.
If I just partition my HDD to a smaller size and install windows 10 on the other half of that partition will that work and not affect windows 7
I want to create a system image of my primary drive (an SSD) on an external 230gb hard drive as backup for any incovenience.. The problem is my other drive (games,movies, photos, etc) is automatically checked as default because "required for Windows to run" among my primary drive and System Reserved 350MB partition. I cant uncheck its box.

230 gb of SSD (primary drive) with still 70gb of free space
1 Terabyte of Hard disk (secondary drive)

I recently updated to windows 10 and I have been loving it. But today, most windows have begun to flash not responding when I interact with them (ie clicking, typing). This doesn't happen all the time but enough to interrupt my work. If you need any files or anything, just ask.
View 9 Repliesmy cpu is running at nearly 100% usage while playing video games for example the one i play is blade and soul. It gets really hot from times to times and the game just stops. But recently the pc started shutting down randomly. It couldn't start properly and sometimes the blue screen of death was involved. I resetted it thus reinstalling it and while i was downloading blade and soul it restarted again at that moment the cpu was on 30% usage and the disk 100%usage. The specs are:
CPU- AMD FX-4130
Motherboard- 760gma-p34 (fx)
GPU- gigabite GeForce gtx 750 ti
I have an acer desktop with an i5. It was running windows 8 and then I upgraded to windows 10 awhile back. Everything has been working fine for months till about a week ago. Randomly I can't click items in the start menu or desktop, but can click things in chrome and programs.
The problem has been going on randomly for a week so last night I decided to do a clean install of windows 10 on a new SSD drive i got.. Everything worked fine for about a day, now suddenly it's doing the same thing again. But like before its still random, sometimes everything works fine and sometimes not.
Out of the blue, the search windows box in the bottom toolbar opens and blacks out one third of the screen. I am tired of it interfering with what I am doing online. Is there any way this box can be removed or disabled?
View 2 RepliesI'm using windows 10. When I'm using my user, the windows store app just doesnt open. The icon on the start menu is empty. It just says "store". When I click on it - nothing happens. When i search "store" and the icon pops up, I click it and once again nothing happens.
View 2 RepliesJust did the Windows 10 upgrade. It's buggy to say the least. I'm having an issue where my XBOX, WEATHER, STORE, MAIL, CALENDAR, and FEEDBACK apps open up by themselves like every 10 minutes. They all open at the same time. They don't pop up on screen but appear on my second monitor's task bar minimized.
View 3 RepliesI seem to be having a weird thing where my computer makes the dis/connect sound randomly but especially when I am gaming. There doesn't seem to be a loss in connectivity of my keyboard or mouse as I can still move around in the game.
I'm running a wireless mouse and separate wireless keyboard (i.e there are two receivers connected to my pc)
Also something else that is weird and may be to do with it, my gpu (970) is showing up in the "safely disconnect" menu in the bottom right of my taskbar.
For the last few days, I have been unable to get the Windows App Store, or any apps downloaded from the windows app store, to be able to open. It opens the initial window and then just closes and nothing occurs. This also occurs with the xbox app...
View 3 RepliesI have recently upgraded from 8.1 to windows 10 after it finish installing I reset my computer(Via the recovery tab). I then started installing my programs and everything was going well, but when I logged in the next day I couldn't open Task Manager or the admin command prompt(the normal one works fine), my windows update also takes forever to search for an update and nothing ever happens. It seems to be something wrong with the programs that require admin(I am the only user on the computer so I have administrator functions). I have some error messages but there are a few more. Here are a few: 'This program did not respond in a timely fashion', 'The service cannot accept control messages at this time' and I will attach a screenshot of the longest one.
View 2 RepliesUp until a few days ago when I clicked the windows key and typed C:projects (or any folder) and clicked enter that location would open. This is no longer working. I can still open applications but I can't open any folder locations. Is there a settings somewhere for this?
After more testing, when I hit the windows key and type C:projects and hit the enter key....Nothing happens. However if I do the same procedure but instead click on C:projects with my mouse the folder opens. So it seems only the enter key won't open the folder.
I restarted my PC after my screen blanked out in a game I was playing after changing the resolution. Then when I boot my PC, the Windows logo appears, the loading thing starts rotating, then it black screens and my monitor displays some text saying "no video avaliable".The only thing I can think of is hard drive corrupted as, whilst running, my PC almost tipped over, but I stopped it.
I will try boot the PC with another hard drive to test my theory
I'm experiencing a strange problem on my secondary desktop (the crappy Alienware). Randomly, the machine restarts within a mere 5 minutes of it running.
It also restarts just sitting on the login screen, so it doesn't only happen when someone is logged in. It, of course, doesn't do this in Safe Mode.
