View 3 RepliesSo i currently have a MSI GT80 Titan running killer wireless 1525 network adapter and am constantly seeing network drops to the point where i get an exclamation mark over my wireless icon and no activity. Connection shows connected but no speed, only until i manually disconnect and reconnect. This has been happening since earlier this week after having the laptop off for a couple days and i'm sure some updates came in from Microsoft.
Steps I've taken already to resolve this:
1. Uninstalled killer wireless software suite and installed stand alone killer driver
2. Refreshed the PC with clean windows 10 install
3. All drivers are up to date including BIOS
4. Ran ccleaner along with registry side of it
5. Memtest shows no errors
6. Hard drives show no errors
7. Connected to LAN and no drops all day
I'm not sure what else to check as this is a fairly new laptop bought back in march and doing some searching on google showed some posts about people with the same issues (different laptops/hardware) thinking it was related to Windows 10.
I recently brought a new wireless network adapter for usb (Asus usb N14) and since I've started using it the connection is really unstable, I'm on the same connection on my iphone and it's just fine but on my pc it's really struggling, I've ran speed tests and it'll work fine when randomly it'll just go down, I'll still be connected to the router but have no internet. Right now looking at the wifi graph in task manager it literally going straight up for a few seconds then straight back to 0 when downloading a file, and I'm unable to download any large files because it'll just fail after about 30 seconds.
I've updated it to the latest version with no change in performance or reliability. One other thing I'm at Uni so other people will be using the connection and I've no access to the router unfortunately.
While using Windows 7 I often disabled my wireless connection by using the f12 function key. It was disabled when I upgraded to Windows 10 via my ethernet connection. The f12 key now only controls airplane mode. I cannot enable my wireless adapter. I have an HP Pavillion dv7 notebook computer. HP says they offer no Windows 10 compatible upgrades for this model. Is there a solution other than restoring Windows 7?
View 6 RepliesI have a Intel AC 7260 WAN card in my laptop which is running Windows 10 x64. After about 10-15 minutes I will lose internet connection while still being connected to the SSID.
I installed the latest Intel AC 7260 drivers from here. Also I ran a complete scan with Malwarebytes which didn't find any threats. This issue started a few days ago.
Anyway of seeing if a application is causing this connection lose issue? It is only happening with this one device.
I have a new Netgear USB wireless router I want to install. When I attempt to run the Netgear Windows10-version installation software for the Driver, the installation crashes with the "Windows Install Error 1603" notification. I cannot figure out what this means, except something to do with the Installer being unable to load the driver. The router IS rrecognized in Device Manager, but with a yellow warning that "Windows could not load the driver".
EVERYTHING else on my desktop is working just great, not a problem anywhere.
Netgear Live Chat support is stumped; they told me to get another unit. Well, I have done that already! The strange thing is that BOTH these routers are INSTANTLY recognized by my laptop running Windows 10 just like my Desktop is. The problem AIN'T the router! Something in Win 10 on my Desktop isn't right, and I need to find out what to do to fix it.
I've got a big problem win my Win10. Every time i install 10 it has no internet connection, it shows that none connections are available and tells "Modem has reported an error (error 651). Everything is working well on Win7. I tried many things to fix it but nothing seems to work.
My network card is Qualcomm Atheros AR8171, and modem is some TPLink
As of now I've came across 2 Windows games Modern Combat 5: Blackout and Age of Sparta which shows me this below error even though I'm connected to 3G or 4G,
" No Internet connection available. Please make sure your device is connected to the Internet. "
I'm getting this error in Windows 10 now. I used to get it in Windows 8.1 too.
My laptop keeps freezing and nothing responds. I start task manager and nothing is running it reports! I can't even power off except fordoing ctrl alt delete and restart it. It's becoming an everyday occurrence. I am thinking in going back to windows 7. I wish Microsoft would have used 7 as a model to make another OS. In my opinion 7 is the best OS that Windows has made since XP. Is there anything I can do before I do a full reinstall? Can I use an Acronis image of my old c drive on my old laptop? I think it's a definite no, but I won't know until I ask.

View 1 Replies1. Initially I couldn't open photos on Laptop after I installed Windows 10 3 days ago.
2. Told in Account Settings to Verify account, Clicked on Verify and no response every time.
3. Changed to User account and now cannot change back to Administrator Account.
4. Nothing in my settings will respond when clicked.
Tried troubleshooting links and all sorts though to no avail.
Have upgraded to Windows 10 and now have an annoying issue (to me) in that the response time to download files from my portable USB 3.0 HDD's in File Explorer has increased significantly from when I was using them with Windows 8.1 although the read/write transfer rates have not changed.
This is more noticeable when the directories are large ie above 50GB. When using the same HDD's in windows 8.1 the response time appeared to be immediate with all the file details appearing instantly on the screen and of course with no annoying "Working on it" message appearing to fill in the time.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 and skipped the sign up process at the beginning but now when I try to sign up to my Microsoft Account it shows no response when I click it. I haven't been able to use cortana or download anything from the store because it shows no response when I click it. Whenever I try signing up for cortana a black screen pops up for a millisecond everytime I click on it but nothing happens. I can't even make the sign up dialog box appear.

View 1 RepliesThe hover-event response time is too fast , and it triggers unwanted events .
Pls , how can i shut off the hover-event response(preferably) or drastically slow it down ?
Tried using DDU and it asked to enter safe mode, went to safe mode, it then said "insert bootable media" and I tried to select it from BIOS but I could never get to BIOS because my mouse and keyboard controls were dead. Nothing I've done (plugging, unplugging) has fixed this issue. How to fix this.
View 1 RepliesResponse following sfc scan, windows resource protection found corrupt files, but was unable to fix some of them. I have the CBS log, but don't understand any of it.. I looked at an article that said replace files with a new copy, and I didn't understand that!

sfcdetails.txt 222.12KB
dism.log 348.56KB
Since yesterday, I'm unable to switch between user accounts. Button changes from white to blue when hovered, but no response to click.
View 1 RepliesI like to think I am fairy familiar with installation and set-up but this has got me beat. After installing Windows 10 my wifi continually drops out every 10 minutes or so. Cable connections are fine and other devices in the house are fine; just my laptop.
View 1 RepliesMy Dell laptop which is windows 10 only has a chronic problem with the adapter constantly needing to be reset. Searching for similar problems led me to the possibility of a USB adapter.
View 1 RepliesYooooo! I have a Lenovo Y510p with modified BIOS so I could replace the crappy Intel wireless card that came with it (Intel Centrino N2230) for an Azurewave - Broadcom 4352. The experience has been good so far, the only problem I'm having is the low wireless signal with the card. I have other laptops that have higher range and strengths on the same place with older cards.
I've tried verifying (and even swapping) the cables and noted no difference. I asked on another forum and they told me that it could be that the card is not receiving enough power, but I have yet to find a settings in the BIOS or in Windows that dwindles its performance. I have recently updated the driver from Lenovo's website and it didn't improve a bit. How to improve the wireless signal?
Yesterday, I successfully installed Win 10 on a neighbor's Win 7 laptop. However, it could not connect to the internet, explaining that his Wi-Fi software (which worked fine with Win 7) was incompatible with Win 10. I switched him to DSL and he is doing fine. But how do I get him compatible Wi-Fi software?
My three laptops are all Windows 8 Spanish edition, upgraded to 8.1, and then upgraded to 10. All run wireless with no problem.
I installed the upgrade on my toshiba satellite everything seems ok except i cannot connect to the internet via wireless only ethernet cable and there is no sound. I have run a toshiba diagnostic and it offers no resolution.
View 1 RepliesI just got my first PC today and I'm a bit of noob. I tried to connect to the internet but noticed that there simply was no option to connect to a wireless network. A wired network works fine though. I checked on the internet. I have a gigabyte z170x gaming 7 as my motherboard. URL....
View 1 RepliesI am having major issues with Windows 10 Pro and my wireless card in my desktop. I have an ASUS Maximus Impact VII with the mPCIe Combo IV WiFi card. I had to disable the card in the BIOS just to get Windows 10 installed. I re-enable the card and can boot into W10, it shows up in Device Manager and adapters (greyed). I can't enable it. Tried uninstalling and deleting drivers, then scan for new hardware. It kicks the card on and I get WiFi bars in the taskbar, but then immediately freezes Windows. This is coming from a clean install of 10, no VPN in 8.1 and I tried the reg delete command to make sure. I purchased a USB WiFi adapter to see if it would work. Same results. I decided I would install Windows 7 out of curiosity. SAME THING. It's strange, the WiFi works flawlessly in Windows 8.1, but not at all in 7 or 10. I have tried the 3 latest BIOS revisions for my motherboard, as well as the only available W10 driver for the adapter.
