I can't turn off restricted mode in Youtube anymore after upgrading to Windows 10, which is really annoying because now i can't watch the video's i like.
I recently set up 3 computers for my family, doing clean installs of Win10 for all. On two of the computers youtube is set to restricted mode all the time and can't be changed. The third computer has restricted mode set to off.
Many people have this problem, and in every single troubleshooting thread I've seen the problem is supposedly with Microsoft's family safety feature. All three of my computers are signed into my one MS account. Under the family safety tab there are no other "child" or "adult" users listed.
How is it that one computer can work properly, but the other two have youtube stuck on restricted mode?
But I installed windows 10 build 10240 and my browser cant watch most videos on youtube cuz restricted mode always on. when I click off and save, it will refresh page and this mode still on.
I try with edge, chrome ( firefox has problem with certificate. cant visit too much site)
try to delete cookies, reset win10, upgrade from 8,1, clean install. and I cant disable this mode.
I tried to use vlc or kmplayer too and it still fail
When my son tries to watch YouTube movies, it says "The Video is unavailable with Restricted Mode enabled. To view this video, you will need to disable Restricted Mode."
The only way I have found to disable restricted mode is to turn off safe search. I'd rather leave that on.
Current situation: MS SP2 that does not boot, and the ssd is not formattable because it seems locked (same lock as when you hibernate the pc)
I tried to upgrade from W8.1 to W10 with the upgrade tool in Win8 on a MS Surface Pro 2.
The computer hangs on 56% so I reboot. It tells me "the installation is failed, so go back to win 8". I accepted.
From there it showing infinitly "Restoring previous windows version".(It shown in dutch, so maybe it a bit different in English.
It is in this state for a month now and I tried everything listed below.
I tried creating a Win 10 disk, and do a fresh install from there. Result: Cant get the drive to boot
Tried creating a Win 8 disk. It boots, but it won't let me format my C-drive. It seems to be locked because it failed the recovery to the old Win8 install. I can remove all the partitions, but it gives an error when I try to install on a newly created partition. After a reboot, all partitions are back.
I tried booting to command prompt with windows 8 usb disk and remove the partitions with diskpart. It failes the format command. "attri disk" does not show read only
I tried an ubuntu live disk. It does not show my NTFS partitions
So the problem is: I can not access my data, but I accepted it is lost (and I copied some things via command prompt)I cannot get into windows. It wont let me install windowsI cannot format my harddrive. I can not remove the harddrive because I cant open the tablet without breaking it.
One of the things I thought is to make a USB with win10 running on it, but most of my flash drives are to slow and booting from a Sandisk extreme 32gb seems impossible.
Since this morning my PC has been playing up. After logging in, most of the icons on the desktop appear blank, with many new ones without the name. I cannot open anything, right click on the desktop only shows View, Sort By and Refresh. I cannot open the start menu, I managed to run explorer exe but cannot open any folders on any of the drives. The services loaded on startup are also limited (no antivirus for example) and a peculiar thing I noticed is that the CPU is constantly running at 43-44% for no apparent reason.
I upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10 on my Lenovo Laptop and every thing was fine .Then i went and installed the Nvidia driver for my graphics card and restarted .On doing the restart i was getting a blank black screen. So then i went into safe mode and installed the Intel graphics drivers that came with my laptop and restarted .
On doing the restart I am always going into recovery mode now . Even if i try to boot in safe mode it goes into recovery mode. I tried even to do the windows repair via the recovery mode but it does not work. The only thing that i have is the command prompt in recovery mode .Can I install the latest driver via command prompt in recovery mode ? or how should i fix this issue ?
I upgraded from 7 to 10. The upgrade was smooth and I didn't see any issues immediately. But, after setting the power and screen saver settings, the monitor never went into standby and screen savers won't start. I did not try hibernation because I never used it before. I discovered that didn't work either. So, I regressed back to 7 and everything works as before. So, as a test, I installed a spare HDD and did a clean install from USB. Same issues as the upgrade. Maybe I'm nit-picky, but I want the monitor to go to power saver after 5 minutes.
I have a laptop with an intel AC 7265 wireless adapter built in. With the normal Windows 10 driver, AP mode works - which I need to run Connectify.
I upgraded to the latest Intel driver as I was having other issues (Wireless would just disconnect and give me a 1609 address) but the new driver apparently doesn't support AP mode (hosted network support = no).
i recently upgrade my sp3 to November update and realize some tiles become blurry in tablet mode. ( fine in desktop mode). I tried uninstall and re install intel graphics driver and it didn't fix the problem.
I noted that I am not the first one who encounters a flashing screen after upgrading to Win10, managed to type the "msconfig" and now I am stuck in Safe mode with the system not accepting my password, which is a 4-digit PIN.
I have an Asus Vivobook. In windows 8 I used sleep mode all the time. after the upgrade to windows 10 whenever the computer enters sleep mode either by closing the lid, automated or manual, when I wake it it restarts. I entered the BIOS and the AHPC mode was enabled, and was the only option. I looked through the computer power options, but I can't find anything.
I just upgraded windows 8.1 to windows 10, everything works fine, except monitor does not go to standby by after 15 minutes of idle. I checked power settings, change it, back, forward, nothing, same thing.
I bought this new laptop dell Inspiron 15 5000 series, Window 10. earlier youtube was working but now its not working. I restarted couple of times check internet explorer.
I turned on high contrast mode. Now it won't change back to normal mode no matter what I do. I tried selecting None in the dialog box for high contrast mode and all the other modes.
The comments in YouTube won't load for me in IE on W10.
When I use F12 dev tools and put user agent string to either Chrome or Firefox the comments will load. When I put the string back to default they won't load.
I cleared all cache, cookies, reset browser settings, restarted PC, flushed DNS, restarted modum and router, disabled all add-ons, uninstalled adblock plus, and nothing works. Comments won't load.
So it seems it is only dependent on the user agent string.
I've tried all other browsers on Windows 10 and YouTube shows and it works. I'm on Firefox and YouTube is just a black screen with sound. I've tried on incognito as well and it's the same thing. It only works when I have "Enable hardware acceleration" turned off.
Removed registered users from allowed users under security properties for my external. Now I can't fully access even with administrator account. Can see root, but can't access individual directories. Originally, I wanted only one user to have access, not other accounts.
I am having some serious problems with my taskbar... it seems to be locked but i have checked it over and over and it isnt... i have seen hundreds of posts similar to this but no fixes that worked... i tried the powershell command... tried safe boot... tried to use an older image but that didn't work... either...
Also I got super scared when my prefered cleaning software (IObit uninstaller) said "power scan leftovers of Search" as if it had uninstalled my search bar... my pc is about 1.5 years old now and i can't find my windows installation disk anywhere... my brother has a windows 10 disc that came with his rig but i dont want to use it incase it locks him out saying his version is pirated... i am willing to buy a new OS disk if i need to but i MUST retain my files... i recently got able to live 9 and used the key so if i need to reinstall it I'm not sure if i will have to get a new one
I downloaded Windows 10 and was pleased. Unfortunately Ever since, when I try to watch a video on (say) YouTube, I get a message that there has been an error and to try again later.
