View 1 RepliesWhen one of my family members goes to sign in, it says "preparing windows." Then, once they are logged in, it says "You've been signed in with a temporary profile. You can't access your files, and files created in this profile will be deleted when you sign out. To fix this, sign out and try signing in later." The problem is still persisting a day later. Aif I turned off sync settings, would that prevent this from happening?
View 2 RepliesBelieve I have a corrupt user profile as newly installed apps not appearing in desktop programs menu, so decided to create two new profiles one final and one temporary, using the copy to procedure built into Windows, but used Windows enable app to allow copy to to work.....got an error message at the last step with a pop up windo telling Windows could not delete the folder..
View 1 RepliesI just setup windows 10 mobile preview on my Nokia Icon last night. Last night the Start screen wasn't loading after about 5 minutes, and figured it was just updating, so I went to bed and left phone on. (screen says "Loading . . .", disappears, then "Loading . . .", etc)
This morning I load up phone, and it is doing the same thing. I cannot get the start screen to load.
However, it appears everything else is fairly functional: I'm able to open Cortana, I can launch internet browser, I can surf the web, I can send a text from Cortana, etc. But as soon as I go to start screen, it never loads.
Initially, the screen would loop on "Loading . . .". If I held down the back button, the tasks would show a blank Start task. But after I get cortana or another app to open, when I try to go 'home', it shows "Loading . . ." once, then immediately goes back to the app -- and if I check the tasks, it never shows 'Start'.
The player just loads empty , white in colour with a few lines. I looked in search for threads regarding groove player but didn't see anything solved. Everything is updated & windows store is as well ,I also tried the troubleshooting.

For some reason this morning my computer was being really slow, freezing for a couple of minutes at a time especially when searching for programs, so I decided to restart it.
After that my computer took way longer than usual to boot up and when it did it opened to a black screen. I left it for 10 minutes and nothing had changed so I pressed Ctrl Alt Delete and then a message popped up saying something along the lines of log in and shutdown failure. I would post a picture of it but it won't from my phone and I currently don't have a functioning computer.
Now I've been waiting around a half hour after typing in my password for my computer to log in and it's been just a spinning wheel on a screen with my name on it.
After signing on and Windows 10 homepage loads, shortly after that the page flashes and is gone. It reloads and 30 seconds later it will flash again, on and off continually. Loaded Windows 10 24 hours earlier, the system was okay until early in the evening after a reboot. Now all reboots are the same. Lucky enough at one point I was able to get on the internet, but I can't get to my settings to find a fix.
View 2 RepliesEvery time now when I try to search something using that little bar in the bottom left, the loading icon shows but nothing else happens. It worked before. Now what is wrong with it?

View 8 RepliesI've been having this issue for a long time (not sure how long), some internet pages that require the browser to load resources/images/whatever are laggy as all hell. Sometimes they load fine, but other times it takes forever to load thumbnails of videos on Youtube or images on Google Images.I clean my cache and registry, using CCleaner, fairly often so it's not a clutter issue. I scan my computer fairly often too, using Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, and never found a threat so it's not a virus/malware issue. I have no internet toolbars, speed enhancing apps or any other programs of the kind. I also have my drivers up to date.
View 3 RepliesI'm evaluating Windows 10 for my company to check compatibility with our systems and general user experience. We're a small business, and we're presently running a mix of Win7 and Win8.1 machines, all running Pro and joined to our domain. The two machines I've upgraded to Win10 Pro both have the same issue:
File Explorer, when opened, has a loading bar that never finishes. It displays the text "Working on it..." in the file panel, and a very small tree in the folder panel, with just "Quick access," "Desktop," and "This PC" entries. Many controls in the ribbon are also greyed out, including Options, Open command prompt, and the layout controls. (See screenshot)
Possibly related, the recycle bin does not behave as expected. Even with files in the bin, the "Empty recycle bin" option is greyed out both in the ribbon and in context menu from the desktop icon. I can only fully delete files by selecting them within the bin and deleting them again. (See screenshot)
I've searched around for people with similar problems, but I found only one thread describing this issue, and with a preview build. That thread contained a work-around (start->run->c:) which usually works for me, but which brings up a very quirky File Explorer window, with a folder pane that only shows folders I have actually navigated to using the file pane. It is workable, but I can't ask a normal user to live with this experience, so our upgrade plans are on hold until I can get this resolved.
None of my personal machines, including a Surface Pro 3 now running Win10 Pro, are having this issue.
Upgraded from Windows 7. Several pages load or don't load:
1. Control Panel loads but the screen is completely blank.
2. Customizing the font page won't even load. Get message the change font page won't load.
Why I get blank screens. Can't find anything on these problems. Have to work around them at present. Have found a workaround for the Control Panel but not the changing font utility.
I just wanted to ask if it was bad that i had my HDD connected to a eSATA (Asmedia) port when installing my OS? I just tried switching the port from the eSATA ports to the regular SATA ports but it gives me BSOD saying "Inaccesible_Boot_Device". So i just plugged them back in eSATA ports.
View 1 RepliesMy Inspirio 14 laptop currently has 5.74 GB of useless files sitting around in it, but none of the tools to delete them are working. Both Disk Cleanup and the option in the menu at:Settings>System>Storage>This PC>Temporary Files.Disk Cleanup won't even start, even allowing for some time. (I waited a full hour for it, still nothing.)I need to know where I can access these files to delete them myself. I already deleted things in the %temp% and prefetch folders, which brought it from 6.25GB to 5.74. I have tried running Disk Cleanup from every menu and shortcut it has, but none have worked.
View 1 RepliesRunning Win 10 on a HP Envy and upon startup everything normal, then icons appear on desktop, then a 5 inch black square in upper right of screen and this hangs for about thirty seconds then disappears and everything is fine. This does not occur on restart. At the top of black box is the following C:programdata242466sysmon.exe. How do I get rid of this delay...
View 7 RepliesSettings -> System -> Storage -> c:/ -> Temporary Files will not delete.
I have 56gigs of temp files that I can't touch/find/remove. The delete temporary files will not work to clear this. I've tried various Ccleaner and disk clean up.
I want to move my cache folder to ram disk in microsoft edge but don't have a clue.
View 1 RepliesI am using a windows 10 pc.
Specs = 4gb Ram Intel i5 4210U.
Problem = When I boot up my pc after logging in and entering my password , i get a black screen with only my cursor. After 30-60s the screen flickers and everything becomes normal and works fine.
So after removing Windows 10 Developer preview from mscongif (after I upgraded from windows 7 to 10) I was still booting in the OS selection menu because I once attempted to install Kali Linux and now I have an extra option in this menu to "Continue to install Linux...". This option does not show up in the msconfig boot section. How can I remove it in order to save 5 seconds of booting time?
View 1 RepliesHave my new Win 10 Pro system up and running...so far so good....except for networking ? However...I forgot to keep track of my passwords/acct records...etc for a number of programs on Win 7 that I am putting back onto Win 10...passwords...registrations keys...etc
Can I restore a full Acronis tib of Win 7 Pro and do a dual boot setup with the new 10....and how ?
I know it's not kosher to have both Win 10 new and the older Win 7 on the same PC because of the clean upgrade to Win 10...but I need it a short period to get into Win 7 to recover/find my passwords and registration info for a number of Win 7 installed programs to activate on Win 10
How do I go about setting up a dual boot 'temporarily' to recover needed information for my new Win 10 Pro install?
In settings I have a large temporary files allocation which says I can delete, I click and it says "We're cleaning up your temporary files. Come back In a bit to checkout the results." I have left it for hours and there is no change. They are taking up a lot of room.
View 2 RepliesI've just made a very simple batch file for cleaning my temp folder. I've put the .bat file in my startup folder so it would clean TEMP when i log in. I've wrote down the following lines:
rd D:TEMP /s /q
md D:TEMP
As i said, very simple. But the problem is that it is not working. I also think i know why; there are files and folders in the temporary folder that are in use so the batch file can't delete them.
Internet Options gives recommended settings for temporary files as between 50 and 250mb. After Windows 10 upgrade mine was set at over14,000mb.
View 1 RepliesI re-flashed the BIOS, remove any overclocking features, my temperatures are fine and I still get blue screened.
This is not a new computer either, I've never had trouble with other games.
I started a clean install yesterday and after today I am trying to install another user profile.
I went to settings; Accounts; Family and other users; Add someone else to this PC; and all I get is "Something went wrong".
I've searched around for an answer to this but I couldn't find anything. Does the People App in Windows 10 bring in profile pictures from Facebook? This worked great in Windows 8.1 and all the mobile versions (even WP10 preview) but for some reason all my contacts in the People App have blank pictures and I'm not sure how to get this fixed. I have the Facebook app installed but I'm not sure if there is anything else I need to do. It's annoying seeing all the blank pictures.
