View 2 RepliesA friend sent me an invitation to view pictures on iCloud. I cannot view the pictures without first downloading and installing iCloud on my Surface Pro 4 and also create an Apple ID. I have created the ID and while I can download and install iCloud for Windows10, I am unable to open iCloud. The error message is that iCloud can only be used on Apple devices. How to download iCloud with Windows 10 in a way that iCloud works?

It defaults to details mode and I'd like list mode.
I made a screenrecord for your understanding.
View 9 RepliesNew on here a just taken plunge with w10. Not bad at all on this Surface Pro 3.
In windows explorer there is an option what folders to show and synchronise. It used to be that the file 'impression' was there but the actual file on the cloud. It now seems that to have them visible they have to synchronise and this means they actually download to local HDD. All I want is to see the files and when I click on them they come down from cloud and attach to email etc. This particularly important for pictures. Because these and medic are huge I don't 'synchronise as they would all come down locally.
So, how do I see the available files in OneDrive via Explorer without actually having them on hard drive locally.
After downloading windows 10 . i can't view any videos without them stopping.

View 3 RepliesI can't believe how basic the photo app still is. You still don't even have a folder view. It is damn slow and constantly crashes and doesn't show all pictures. we are one week away from launch of Win 10 and Microsoft still delivers this crappy piece of software. It's unbelievable! What have they done in all the last months?! There was hardly any progress at all! Don't they have enough man-power for this? Even a one-man app-developer should get a better photo app within 2 months!
View 5 RepliesIs there a way to customize Windows 10 folder view? I do a lot of photo editing and I want to find a way to preview the folder's photo collection in a bigger size than the ''extra large icons'' that I find too small. Is there a way to do it with Windows 10, or is there a 3rd party software I can use ?
View 1 RepliesToday I received a dubious email, from a person unknown, to which a .zip file was attached, purporting to be a copy of an invoice. I saved the attachment, and then scanned it with Bitdefender and MBAM, both of which reported negative results. I then carefully opened (not extracted) the .zip file using SecureZip. There was a single file in the .zip container, which had a .js file extension (Java Script).
I don't have Java installed on my computer, but I took no chances, and used "Eraser" to shred the .zip file that I had saved in my "Downloads" folder and then deleted the email from my In-Box and Trash.
In my Windows 7 days, using Live Mail, I could right-click an email and display its properties to determine from whence it had originated, and other useful information, which was very useful in determining the authenticity, and originator, of the email.
I have a dual monitor setup:
- Main screen, where I work using different applications in different virtual desktops.
- Secondary screen, where another application constantly running in the foreground (e.g.: showing a movie, youtube videos etc.), which I need to be always shown.
When I create multiple desktops in my main screen, Windows also creates the same desktops in the secondary screen.
When working, I alt-tab to move between main screen's applications, which potentially changes desktops.
The problem is that the same desktops are changed in my secondary screen; therefore, my application stops showing when changing desktops.
I was wondering if I can resolve this somehow. For example:
1) Disabling virtual desktops for my secondary monitor specifically
2) Copy application to all desktops (therefore, it shows regardless of which desktop I am switching)
I like most everything about Windows 10 but not able to view videos. Technically challenged I need some very simple step by step insruction. If this issue can't be resolved I would like to revert to Windows 7 which worked perfectly for me.
View 4 RepliesI want 'List', not 'Details'.
I could keep it at 'List' view in Windows 7, but I don't see a setting for that option any more?
Also, I downloaded a program called Explorer Plus Plus, which I love. Is there any way in Windows 10 to make IT my default Folder opener?
I want to set all my folder views to List and have set it to be so from folder options several times but it keeps reverting to Details.
And either way is there a master setting somewhere (like default programs) where I can change this?
I am currently having an issue with icons not displaying on Windows 10, I also cannot change the folder layout as it is grayed out as you will see in the snip it below.
For some reason Adobe PDF icons still display but all the others are just folder icons or the generic gray page icon.
In W7 I could refresh the file list after deleting files using the view menu and the refresh option. W10 does not remove deleted files from view at once nor does it have a way of doing it manually that I can find. I can't believe it no longer exists.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to globally change the Default Folder View? I've used Folder Options | View | Apply to Folders a few times, but it only seems to stick on folders I've opened.
View 6 RepliesI'd love to map Windows 10's Task View to one of my mouse's buttons, but SetPoint* (the software for my Logitech mouse) does not support WinKey-based keyboard shortcuts, so mapping WinKey+Tab is impossible.
I was wondering if there is any alternative way to launch Task View, for instance:
a cmd command to launch Task View?an executable for Task View somewhere inside the system32 folder or something, which I can create a manual shortcut tomaybe an alternative keyboard shortcut not involving WinKey?
I use SetPoint 6.32 for compatibility reasons, upgrading SetPoint to a new version (which supports Task View out of the box) is not an option because my mouse stops working properly.
I have a new HP laptop which has a new Windows 10 image on it. I was able to set up my Microsoft account on it, so I can log-in with it, but if I go to SETTINGS | ACCOUNTS | YOUR EMAIL AND ACCOUNTS, nothing ever shows - the animated graphic at the top (flying dots) continues forever and nothing is ever displayed.
My login id has admin rights, so I don't think it's not a permissions issue. Why I can't see/change the account information??
Is there was way to set up Win 10 so I can find /view recent documents as was the case in Win 7?
View 2 RepliesMy brother upgraded to win 10 then had great problems with drivers which I am trying to sort out for him but at the moment he has rolled back to win 7. The only problem he has now is that he can't download pictures from his camera either by connecting via usb cable or putting the sd card in a slot on his laptop. We can view them but not copy, paste or download them to the computer. we have re-installed the programme that came with the camera which always worked fine with Win 7 before. All we are getting every time we try to transfer the images no matter what method we use is a pop up saying you do not have permission to do this action. he is logged in as an administrator. I have tried logging in as a user, logging as a different adminstrator but am now running out of options ....
View 10 RepliesI have a small Apache web server which hosts a few websites. The system runs on Windows 10 Pro OS. The previous system ran on Windows 7 Pro. It was upgraded to WIndows 10 Pro about 4 months ago. After the upgrade to Win10, someone noticed that pdf files hosted on the websites were no longer opening in browsers but were being downloaded instead.
This isn't a huge issue but in cases where the pdf is large it slows down the opening time significantly and is why I had hard-coded into the sites to open the documents in the browser data stream rather than downloading them.
As I do not know what caused this, I have not been able to find a way to get it to work again. Is the change due to the way Windows 10 interprets things or do I need to update the Apache version or something else entirely.
I want to hide the right side file view. Please check the screenshot than you will be clear.
