does Windows 10 pre-installed on SP4 allow the users to change from the English version of the OS into Japanese version so that we could type and read Japanese as well as use the Japanese version of software?
Is it possible to install and run Japanese programs (e.g., Japanese inDesign) on an English version of Windows 10? This was never possible before with Microsoft, but I am wondering if maybe they had caught up with MAC.
is there anyway to get a language pack for windows 10 to change the language back to English? I was able to manually download a language pack but I wasn't able to install it through CMD. I haven't bought the Windows 10 pro to change it for me, but was wondering if I am able to change it manually on the current version of Win 10
For some reason my computer installed windows 10 in Korean. Luckily I can understand a bit of Korean but I have tried changing all the location and language and keyboard settings back to english but everything still remains in Korean. It even says the main language is Korean. My usb that allows me to connect to the internet isn't working with windows 10 atm so I haven't got internet on my pc. I've tried all the settings on my pc and changed everything possible back to English but all remains in Korean. Not sure if I'm missing anything but it just wont work.
I tried making English the default language to use when going Settings -> Language and Time -> changing English to be my default. I also went into system locale and changed it to English but nothing. I tried restartng and signing out of my account and my pc several times. It shows Korean on the start screen too.
I would like to change default system fonts that are used in applications, file managers, shell menus, windows titles, but I can not find the option to do so. I am comming from the Linux Mint where you have option "fonts" in control panel and there you change fonts, but here in W10 I can not find anything similar. Also, on my laptop Acer E5-571G, fonts are kinda hard to read, they are not very clear, like here on this site for example. Clear type tuning or however it is called is turned on. This is why I would like to change fonts to something else than default.
I have just received updates for Windows 10, nd now when I boot up, I get a message, a copy of which I have attached to this post. This is after I sign in.
It matters not how many times I reboot, this message pops up each time.
So changing the system language should be as easy as settings>region&language>Download the preferred language
Now:
In doing so, my system did change from Russian to English, although not properly. Most objects are English as you'd expect after the change, but some system elements are still Russian. For example, grayed out text in textboxes (The explanation of what you should type) is still Russian. Also, the date & time on the lock screen is still Russian. Also, the "windows is waiting for apps to close" when shutting down, is Russian, both text and buttons. Is this a windows10 flaw?
I found out that the hard disk is 100% utilized. In Task Manager, the process that utilizes the disk the most is ESET Service. If I open Resource Monitor there are many instances of the System process that are reading the disk, not writing it. I have two partitions on my disk - one for the system and the other one for data; the extensive disk reading is done for Pictures (I assigned a folder with pictures, about 140 GB in size, to the system My Pictures folder) on the data partition.
I am not running any tests in the ESET Endpoint Antivirus software and it seems to me that the high disk activity starts when I do not do anything and just e.g. browse Internet or look at something. So, it feels like Windows is doing something, but what it is and how I can influence it. If it were disk optimizations I think I should see also disk writes, not only reads. Could it be that Windows is doing something automatic with Pictures, Documents, etc.?
I wonder what is going on - I dislike the fact that something is going on with the hard disk, making is 100% utilized and making other work very slow and non-responsive.
Whenever booting my pc I get a "operating system wasn't found error". I've checked to make sure my hard drive was set to the boot drive and I've tried reinstalling but that doesn't work either.
I somehow messed up my max memory setting from 8196 to 520 in the system configuration under the 'Boot' tab. Every time I try to restart my laptop, it said bad_system_config_error. How to change back my max memory setting to default. Btw, I'm using lenovo y510p and my os is windows 10.
Installed Windows 10 (free) off Microsoft over Windows 7 home premium. System rebooted, started opening windows 10 and I received an error about system ra into a problem and needs to reboot.
Error was System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled. After about 20 reboots and same problem error, gave up. Can't get into my system!
I'm using windows 10 PC (not on the insider program) and I have some strange problem. In my keyboards there's supposed to be 3 languageskeyboard layouts : English US, Deutsch (Germany), Arabic 101 (Egypt). However there is an extra keyboard that I don't remember choosing ; English United Kingdom, to add to the delimma, this "Egnlish UK" keyboard in fact types "arabic 101" - I've looked in control panel and settings app many times, I don't find that keyboard listed anywhere, I don't know how to remove it or how it got there in the first place, and it's really confusing and annoying because I keep choosing it unintentionally and start typing in English to see Arabic characters on my screen. How do I remove this?
To further understand the problem you can see screenshots here : [URL] .....
I bought new DELL (Inspiron 5559, 9LZM162) laptop but the window is in Chinese. I want convert Chinese to English language. I read How to Add or Remove Language Packs and change Display Language in Windows 10 and I did this all. Then i signed out and signed in but still language is in Chinese... I donʻt know how to change the Language.
I installed a JP version of windows 10 but then bought an English version and installed that after finding all the menus could not be changed to English during the install. My question is does the English version overwrite the JP version or are files left on the SSD using up space? Also in the end I returned the English version cause I found you can add a language pack to the JP version. The problem with this is that if you get a blue screen the windows messages are in Japanese. So now unless I can change this I'm going to go back to an English version of windows 10.
I downloaded the ISO using the Media Creation tool of Windows 10, booted my system with it but at the Language and Country selection screen (the very first one) I can see only one country "Cestina (Ceska Republika)" . Similarly in language drop-down, English is not listed, neither are US or UK listed as countries. What do I do?
I use the German and Greek keyboard layouts, and I often need to switch between them. But windows keeps adding an Englishs keyboard several times every day, which I have to manually delete again. I can't just ignore it, because it interferes with switching between the other two languages. Furthermore, there's no straightforward way to delete English; you have to manually add it first (even though it's already been activated by Windows) before you can delete it.
This problem already existed in Windows 8.1, but at lest there was a workaround. In Win 8.1, you could just add German as a secodary layout to the English language, and then set it as primary. This would fool Windows into thinking that you were using English. This no longer works in Win10, because now it detects that you're lacking a German primary language, so it installs it again for you, even though you're already using it, resulting in 4 installed languages, 2 of which are German.
I ONLY want German and Greek! How can I prevent Windows from adding English every few hours?
I recently purchased a new acer computer in Russia. It was running win8 and I upgraded to Win10 online.
I have since tried to switch the menu languages and everything to English but can't figure out how to get it to work completely in English.
Often used windows apps in the start menu all appear in english (maps, people, calculator etc..) but actual words Often used are in Russian. As are all menu items in windows explorer etc..and other windows programs.
When I go to time and Language settings and then Region and Language its setup as USA and English USA, don't even see Russian listed there. how to resolve?
I have tried to add English to my interface without any luck at all. Instead of the usual Windows Update it just says 'Searching Windows Update' then nothing. I have deleted English then attempted to install it again but nothing, its just the same as previously stated.
Perhaps a download link where I can download the pack without going through Windows Update? I am running Build 10547.....
Open multiple tabs in a browser, like Opera for example, and the System process, of all things, swells up like it caught a disease or something. This didn't happen in Windows 8.1.
I have built my pc but have no os on it when i download it from here [URL]...but what do i do then if i have it on my laptop how do i get it on my new system ?
My computer will not allow me to open anything under the system heading e.g device manager or system protection. I just get a box eventually appear saying "the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".
I admit I use Japanese keyboard input by default. It all went well, only that 5 minutes ago the "tablet side" of the Windows 10's schizophrenic mind started to speak japanese... the rest is still in english, its just the apps and the tablet things that appear in japanese now. Now, is there a big red language button somewhere that will make my WHOLE system appear in english?
A while ago I bought my pc off ebay. It came with windows 8 already installed. The guy who sold it said that he built the pc and decided not to use it so he was selling it. I've upgraded to windows 8.1 and now to windows 10. How can I to check if my OS is OEM?
