sometimes as I said when I want to create a folder in drive D there is a delay of 3 to 4 seconds why ??also sometimes also when I open a program my SSD there is a delay also why ??it is a clean install desktop DOES NOT freeze when these delays happen

I can create a 'new folder' on my desktop and put it in the Documents folder, but I cannot use the "new folder" icon in the Quick Access bar to create one in the Documents folder itself. Am I failing to see something I should have done?
It works fine, but suddenly today the New menu disappeared from my click menu when I click on any blank place in a folder. I bought a new Microsoft surface pro 3 It originally had windows 8 installed on it.From the instant that I unboxed it, turned it on, and accessed Wi-Fi connection, there were almost ALWAYS errors when installing certain plugins or programs from the internet. Instead the errors always came with the message can not create temp folder archive etc. or something of the like.
I downloaded Window 10 because it looked comfortable. No change; none of the programs that I download from internet explorer, edge, or google chrome work. No plugins, and sometimes no important pop-ups either.Another problem... which I have a feeling is related... I downloaded Microsoft office too. All of it worked except for Microsoft Word. Every time I try saving something, regardless of which button I click on, there is absolutely no response and none of the files are saved...
I looked into the internet for answers and there weren't that many. One video on youtube seemed to have a solution. It advised that I go into some advanced settings under the properties of my pc and click on environment settings and... do something I don't really understand. The instructions were:
User variables for {userName} and change the TEMP and TMP vars values to "c:/temp or something like that...
This PC was brand new, and yet these errors surfaced from the beginning and I still can't fix it.
I have Windows 10 Home 10240 build upgraded from Windows 8.1 Core. I have a inconvenient problem, if i create a new folder on the desktop. Right-Click -> New -> Folder, seems that explorer.exe crashes. Everything disappears desktop icon, taskbar. After 1 or 2 seconds everything comes back to normal and folder is created.
View 1 RepliesAbout a week after Clean Installing Windows 10 from an upgraded version on my laptop, I noticed that i wasn't able to Create a New Folder anywhere, from Desktop to File Explorer Directories. Nothing! Even when i try clicking the "New Folder" Button in the Ribbon or pressing Ctrl+Shift+N it still won't work. In the Context Menu (Right Click), I can't find the "New" Button too. I want to create a new recovery drive but when I get to the window that says "Connect a USB Flash Drive" and the process comes to a dead stop.
-I'm using the same 16GB thumb drive that was previously used to create a Win 8.1 recovery drive so it should be good
-The thumb drive appears in File Explorer and I can read and write to the drive so the system sees it
I should also mention...
-I have attempted this with and without "include system files" checked.
-I find it interesting that after a thumb drive is inserted, I don't have the icon in my system tray that I would normally select to eject the thumb drive.
Nonetheless, I can read and write to the thumb drive. I've inserted the same thumb drives in another computer with Win 10 build 10240 and I get the USB eject icon on my system tray
Having recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I have tried to create a recovery drive to go on a USB flash drive. All I get, however, is the message " We can't create the recovery drive. A problem occurred while creating the recovery drive". I have tried a few times without success.
I looked at the Event Log and saw the following which, I believe, is related to the problem: Microsoft-Windows-CAP12. I.D.513.
Tried looking this up online, but couldn't find any specific information. I'm running on Windows 10 Home, and I have a Windows 10 ISO I want to put in a flash drive so it's bootable. How do I do this?
View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a system recovery drive on a usb stick using Create a recovery drive in Settings section.
But apparently I am missing many files such as winre.wim and install.wim as I keep getting error messages that I am missing files and instead am told to insert my Windows Installation dvd to get them. Since I have a Win10 Upgrade install from Win 7 Home Basic, I have no dvd install disk to either copy those files from or use as a rescue dvd, and I looked back at Win 7 files on another drive, and the .wim files are not in 7 either, as that was a Dell reinstall dvd (still have that), but no such files there either.
So can I get Mr. Gates home # in case I need to rescue my OS? My past behavior tells me I WILL need to rescue my pc sooner or later, & maybe this time I can be prepared.
So I dont currently have a USB drive, however I have the ISO files for windows 10. I want to install Windows 10 on a gaming PC im going to build in a few hours. All I got to work with is a 2-Sided USB Cable and a second laptop. Is there any way I can create say a virtual USB drive on my laptop, then mount windows 10 on it and plug that laptop into my new computer to install windows 10?

On the windows media creation tool, I only get an option for windows 10, not any other version of it. Where can i find the official ISO file for it.
So my sister's Windows 8.1 laptop's hard drive is broken... with her OS on it. I'm getting her a new hard drive (internal) which I will fit, but it seems pointless to buy windows all over again when she still owns it. What is the answer, as I have tried this several times.
It has been suggested that I should create a Recovery Drive from USB to enable me to reboot if I get problems.
However when I use "Recovery Drive" I get the following message "We cant create a Recovery Drive on this PC. Some files are missing.
To Troubleshoot when your PC cant start use your Windows installation disc or media" . As I upgraded from Windows 8.1 I don't have a disc & what is media?
