I just got a new Dell computer with Win10. when I minimize a page an icon appears at the bottom of the screen in the taskbar (?) and a thumbnail picture appears at the right side of the screen. I don't want the thumbnails and I haven't found a way to stop them with out stopping all thumbnails. I just don't want minimized pages to show up on my desktop.
View 3 RepliesI upgraded from Windows 7 Pro and find that the 'Show Desktop' rectangular space at the far right side of the notification area is missing although posted desktop images Windows 10 have the same rectangular space. However, if I hover the cursor over the screen border in that area for about 5 seconds the desktop appears and if I click on the border it remains otherwise it reverts to the previous screen. So, I assume that the 'Show Desktop' functionality is working OK even though the rectangular space is missing. How to restore the rectangular space?

View 6 RepliesI have a strange problem where my PC would idle and take a long time for the Contextual Menu to show up when I Right Click on a blank space on the Desktop. It literally take about 10 - 15 seconds for the Menu to show up.
After that it is fast again. Then after awhile it does it again. I don't know what the problem is. I try to do a Clean install of Windows 10 Pro. Wipe everything clean and install it on a 256GB Samsung Pro SSD, and it still does it. There is barely anything on the Contextual Menu so I don't know what the problem is.

I updated a few machines from 10240 to 10586 (upgrade).
I usually like to have my desktop icons on the toolbar instead of the screen (like to see full theme).
Now the funny thing is that if I decide to show desktop on toolbar sometimes removable drives and even all hard drives will show on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
Here is a pic showing that removable drive is not on desktop.
Now look. If I set desktop to toolbar. Removable drive is there. (Orange circle around it) Some users see all their drives (Fixed and removable) on desktop toolbar but not on screen.
So whenever I close all my tabs I have the windows 10 start menu with all the tiles show up, but I want to see my desktop. It switches between them like every week and I have it set to not show in personalization. What to do?
View 2 RepliesI've successfully upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, everything works like a charm except the context menu on the desktop.
Everytime I make a right click on the desktop, it takes 2-4 minutes for the context menu to show up.
I will be keeping the wireless turned off most of the time on my desktop, as I use it for live pro audio. Is there a registry hack to put the switch in there, even if the computer is not a laptop???
View 9 RepliesI have an issue which has been going on since beta win 10. If i have a minimized window open on the desk top I can not view it unless i minimize all other windows. It seems once my cursor crosses the top of the taskbar the window I am trying to get to closes, only way to get to it is to minimize all other windows and then I got get to it and then click on it? Same thing if I want to change the volume if I click on the taskbar the volume window will close once the cursor crosses the top of the taskbar? If i right click on the volume icon then I get the volume mixer and I am able to get to it to adjust? I keep thinking this is a bug that will get fixed, but never does.
View 9 RepliesSince updating to Windows 10 I have lost many of the normal graphics found on pages and on my browsers. The color is blue and some boxes that require a check are not visible unless you happen to run your mouse over them. Internet Explorer and Firefox have also lost most of the graphics; now all the artwork on the pages look like just bare bone versions of the pages when I saw them on Windows 7! This is affecting both my PC and my laptop!

View 2 RepliesI have a HP Notebook 15-ac134ns Windows 10 Home 64bits from 3 months ago. When I run some programs (at the moment I have detected Firefox, Chrome, Teamviewer, Windows Live MSN, and some others) installed by me, they work normally, but when I minimize them they don't go to taskbar, I see like the windows goes up and dissappears. But program keeps running, so I can locate in running processes.
Then I have to find Explorer process, kill it, and firefow shows up in task bar for a few seconds, so I can click on it and it is accessible again in the very same point it was before.
I have tried to locate the "missing" programs with Alt+Tab or in different desktops, but not available.
I have also tried to pin and unpin the programs to taskbar, but same.
Ever time I restart my Outlook is in a minimized mode. Surface Pro2.

View 3 RepliesI need Windows 10 to boot directly to a program. Whatever I try .vbs, .bat or just shortcut in Startup folder, it always starts minimized to task bar. When I click on the task bar it gets blown up full screen.
Once I turn off the Tablet mode it starts good, maximized.
How can I solve this so it boot in Tablet mode AND start the program in proper size?
NOTE: I use touch screen but I dont think it maters.
Whenever I use my surface after charging all night I get white screens from apps that are minimized and edge doesn't respond. Ive actually got to close out all those windows and start over. SP3 ... Windows 10 ...

I have just got an Epson 2550 and it's printing the first page first so I need to reorder every document. I did their online chat and they said I needed to change settings in powerpoint/word etc - but I can't find anything.
View 9 RepliesI migrated from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I then found that I had access to 3 web browsers - Edge, Chrome and IE 11.
However, whilst I could access web pages from Edge, I could not access those same pages [in fact ANY pages at all] from Chrome or IE. I just got messages saying the pages were not accessible. My immediate suspicion was some sort of firewall problem, so I turned off the firewall, but the problem persisted. I re-installed Chrome, but that made no difference either. I rebooted the PC, but the problem was still there. I also noted that my VOIP phone application was unable to reach the Web.
It seems very odd that one application [Edge] seems to have full Web access, while three others have none at all.
I cannot think of any setting that would deny access to some apps, but not others. I did check the firewall setting for Chrome, and it said it was giving the application full access.
What might be causing this selective denial of Internet access. Does Edge monopolise the access and somehow exclude the others?!
My friend's computer will not load web pages:
1. Google and Yahoo searches do work but
2. Clicking on a search result produces a something like "This page cannot be displayed".
3. The problem goes away in Safe Mode.
4. I have run the following commands in batch mode:

5. Other devices have no problem with the router.
6. I have scanned the computer with Malwarebytes, Windows Defender and Avast.
I notice when viewing pages that have a lot of ads with edge they have trouble [slow] loading. I guess it is edge trying to stop all those adds. Oh where is adblock+ and no script when ya need em.
thats right they won't run on edge.
Icons on desktop are all white i cant access my computer all blank pages control panel also all white my documents nothing. So i had to format hdd and clean instal from image backup and same thing!!! this backup image is 1000% clean. i scaned whole computer with malwarebytes, bitdefender, super anti spyware ccleaner, advanced system care no virus of any kind could be hardware issue???
