I have a pc updated from 7 to 10 and now wish to get rid of my old xp pc. I have copied my folders and contacts from Outlook Express. In W10 Mail I have set up the email system and can log on perfectly and see all the new stuff. I cannot find anyway to import my contacts or folders full of saved emails into W10 Mail. Is there a way to do this or has MS given up on stuff from Outlook Express?

View 7 RepliesFinally managed to import my thousands of saved emails (had to buy a program to do it) but cannot get them to be sub-folders of the inbox, only down at the bottom as "Outlook data file". Cannot import contacts. I export to csv but they import blank, now I have about 100 blank contacts that this POS won't let me delete.I have 3 accounts, comcast, gmail, and outlook.com. All are IMAP accounts.
When I started this process hours ago, I was hoping the following could be done:
-Have one combined inbox
-Have all my saved local folders as a sub of that inbox
-Have a complete address book that I'm able to use and edit
My parents Windows 7 laptop fried recently, I got them a new HP 350 G2 which came with Win8.1 and i upgraded to 10. My father used to use outlook express with an email through his ISP, and the only way I see to import that email into a new account involves being on the computer using outlook express and using the migration tool. Obviously I can't do that since that computer is toast (the motherboard fried).
View 6 Replies"Outlook Express" which has been my email program since Windows XP and up to Windows 8.1 disappeared when I uploaded Windows 10. This included all my saved emails and all my contacts. The replacement email program, which I assume is from Windows 10, is as useful as a eunuch.
My old "Outlook Express" is hiding somewhere on my computer or do I have to accept that it is gone? If it is still in my computer how do I bring it to the forefront? I should note that I am not particularly computer literate.

I can see my account in Email & Accounts, But there is no option to Sync contacts. Only email is present.
When I want to send a mail to a known person It doesn't show me the email contact when I type name or even his email address. The search contact only works If I have sent someone a mail only from the Windows 10 mail app otherwise it doesn't show the contact which I might have save or synced when I have used it on web and also on windows 8.1 mail app. Why my contacts can't be displayed when I type on Windows 10 mail app.
View 6 RepliesI want to continue to use Outlook as my main email client (but the built-in app in Windows 10 is little more than a pretty toy, even my phone's email app is more powerful and configurable). I have Outlook 2010 installed on my PC and Outlook 2013 installed on my laptop (I prefer 2010 though), and I access about half a dozen POP3 accounts using both machines, using rules to transfer mails to multiple folders, etc.
The one (and thus far only) plus point I've found about the native Win10 mail/calendar app is that it syncs nicely with my contacts and calendar on my Android devices (via my Google gmail account, which I basically only use for syncing not for actually emailing, as I really don't need any more active email accounts!).
My question is how do I get Outlook 2010 or 2013 to use the new Windows 10 calendar? And ideally sync the contacts too. That way my PCs and my Android devices will all finally be in sync without having to fiddle around manually.
Windows 10, be very aware that often your home wifi password gets shared among your contacts in outlook and skype by default during install. Google for more info, it is encrypted but its stored at microsoft for when they visit you so they can use your wifi.

Everything was organised on my last pc - I had about 15 folders containing emails from Amazon/ebay/paypal/friends/car clubs/family/work etc. etc. etc. Now, after two weeks with Windows 10, not only can't I import my folders and emails, but the email interface itself looks a right shambles. It seems to be designed for 6 year olds. I want a more professional looking interface like my old Vista Mail (or like my Outlook I use in work.

View 1 RepliesWhen I right click on the windows icon, a menu comes up It starts with "Programs and Features" and ends with "Desktop". The menu includes Control Panel, Task Manager, etc. But if I try to access ANY of the items listed in the menu, I get a popup window from Express Plus Zip Files telling me that my free trial is over and offers a link to purchase the program. I don't know what this is or what to do about it!! I can't even look at the programs on my computer to try to uninstall express zip. Now my printer has suddenly stopped printing from my computer although I can copy on my printer. But I can't even look at my control panel or anything! I am so frustrated and really wish I had not installed windows 10.

View 3 RepliesI have the iPhone 6s plus. I am using windows 10 pro. I am having an access denied error when trying to erase the photos-videos after import. I can't find the answer anywhere.
To get the import started you have to plug in the phone via USB. Then in file explorer you right click the icon and select the importing option. Setup the options etc. and select import. Everything works great up until it starts to erase the files off the device and then I get that error displayed in the image below.

View 1 RepliesStart, right click, Control Panel, Hardware and Devices: my camera (Nikon D7000) comes up. Import pictures fails. The error message says: 'no pictures or videos were found on this device'. Did the same thing on my Windows 7 machine (good thing its not yet upgraded). It correctly found 58 pictures and imported them.
